I just bought 3k diamonds and wasted 3200d total on perfect fragments to get absolutely nothing trying to get a rebirth recast. Thank you for this amazing event, I appreciated the opportunity to waste money and get nothing in return. Thank you for making this game unplayable for people who weren’t lucky enough to get a rebirth recast. Thank you for making this game a gigantic gambling crapshoot and a huge money sink to spend tons of money and get nothing. Thank you for making this game completely unfair with some players who have 3 or 4 rebirths and others who can’t get a single one because the only way to get one is to spend hundreds of dollars gambling and even then you aren’t guaranteed.

I also greatly appreciate the opportunity to repeatedly waste my time farming legions for hours on end and get zero hades drops for months while others get 5 or 6 drops in the same time.

Moatster, you get points when players attack you… so if you are holding an orange or purple beacon you will probably get attacked and win a few battles if you are sufficiently strong to fend off weaker players. Strong players in the center orange beacon will probably get attacked a lot, and if you have really strong troops you will probably win a lot too.

That being said, the most you are probably going to get is 200-300 points per day, and average players (not the best of the best) can expect to get 100 points on a good day.

While highly illogical, it is entirely possible that it could have been coded this way. Usually when you use a random number generator you will seed at the beginning of the program with a number (usually the current time) to pick a starting location in a sequence of numbers. So as an example, maybe your sequence of (really bad) random numbers is 1, 6, 3, 4, 9, 7, 2, 8, 5, 0, and the seed starts you off at 9, then the next time you need a random number it would pick 7, then 2, then 8, and so on, looping back around to the start when you hit 0.

However if you are a really bad programmer you will reseed the random number generator with the current time every time you want to request a random number… in this case for 1 whole second every random number you generate will be a 9, then for the next second it will be a 7, and so on. Obviously this is a bit of a simplification, but hopefully you can understand what I mean. This is considered extremely bad by most programmers who know anything about computers, but it is a simple rookie mistake that many people make when they don’t know any better. Given the competency of the SLO devs it wouldn’t surprise me if they made a mistake like this.

Game design 101:

Content should be fun (fail), interesting (fail) and challenging (not impossible, so fail).
Content should be able to be completed by a level appropriate player. (Mega Fail)
Reward for completion of content should be proportional to the difficulty. (Ultra fail)

I grade this attempt by ZQgame to improve the game as: F-, 0/10, and 2 thumbs down. Next time try putting some minimal amount of effort into it, or don’t bother.

Stuck on 229 here, tried everything can’t sim any decks that are significantly higher than 50% win rate in surge mode. These decks should not be in conquest, it is complete garbage.

Topic: Legacy of a Thousand Suns / Disconnect Timer

As a computer programmer I can safely say that there shouldn’t be much if any data being regularly exchanged between the game server and client while you are afk. Perhaps a regular ping/pong message back and forth every few seconds to establish that the user is still connected – in this case, a handful of bytes is what we are talking about. The game shouldn’t be processing anything that takes any significant CPU cycles either… the only thing I can think of is holding player data in RAM for logged in players, and ideally the majority of that data would simply be stored in a database and retrieved on demand with a SQL query.

All this aside would, it kill the game to put the disconnect on a 1 hour timer instead of whatever ridiculously low timer it is on now?

Why is there a timer on this game to disconnect you if you go afk for less time than it takes to regenerate 20 stamina/energy/honor? I’m sure I am not the only one who is sick of reloading the game for no good reason after alt tabbing for less than 30 minutes.

If you take out the elo system in tournament you make it even more luck based… except now it is luck on who you play against. If you:

Gained more than 10 it is because you beat someone with higher rating
Lose more than 10 it is because you lost to someone with lower rating
Gained less than 10 it is because you beat someone with lower rating
Lose less than 10 it is because you lost to someone with higher rating

The points you gain and lose are not arbitrary, they are there to help sort players and they are a vital part of the tournament ranking system.

I’m not asking for gold buy in to sealed WB tournament, just a separate tournament format similar to a gold standard tournament but with sealed WB decks that you don’t get to keep. If you are sick of gold packs and enclave tournaments because they are stale, this format would have a chance to take the place of those tournaments (sometimes).

It would also be really nice if there were four tournaments running at any given time with a gold and WB tournament running simultaneously in each time slot. I love tournaments so as far as I am concerned the more the better, but this might dilute the players between tournaments too much so I can understand if they don’t do this.

I would love to see more sealed tournaments where you can buy in for gold using the other formats that are currently WB only. Obviously there wouldn’t be an option to keep the cards, but it would be fun to be able to play around with the WB only expansions without having to risk real money.

It is random and a low chance, just like BoG used to be – you might get 2 or 3 of them in a short period or you might get none at all for weeks or months on end. If you don’t get one and you really need one you can always buy it off of someone who has more than they need on the auction house.

I would strongly recommend that tournament rankings be updated so that you need to play at least 10 matches before you can place in a tournament and collect rewards. For the 24 hour tournaments especially this is a simple requirement for most players to meet, for the 2 hours you might want to reduce it to 5.

Right now tournaments are filled with people who just don’t play any games if they get a bad draw in a sealed deck tournament. It is unreasonable that these players should be rewarded while people actually building a deck with what they are given and playing the game risk getting dropped into the bottom 50% and losing their gold if they lose a few matches.

In the 24 hour tournament I am in now, there are over 100 players who haven’t played a single game, and probably 100 more who have played only 1 or 2.

Topic: Shadowland Online / STRENGTH STAT TEST ON PALADIN

Any chance you can do the same test for damage taken? Some people seem to think that strength reduces damage taken as well.

From these numbers I would guess that strength gets converted directly into a flat amount of physical attack damage, for example 100 str = 100 pattack bonus. If this is true, it means the physical attack recasts to ring and weapon are without a doubt much better than strength.

Dear Decinus,
Does it only happen in E3 legion battle? And it happens each time you do E3 zero battle or just once?

It happens only when you kill the guy with the reborn ability last, and then he uses his reborn ability. I don’t know if any other zero hour battles have guys with reborn in them.

I believe the names of the units where this happens are:
Knight of Death
Knight of Destroymen

Basically he dies, the game thinks that the wave is cleared, but then he revives from the reborn ability. I’m sure there are other cases where this can happen, like if the player has reborn recast onto the chest armor of one of their heros.

I have noticed a bug after fighting the zero hour in E3 a few times, when you kill an enemy with reborn last and he is revived. Your troops will do their “celebration dance” or whatever it is prematurely, and the number of enemy waves is decreased, but then you kill him again and the enemy waves are decreased again. You still fight all 5 waves, but this makes it so the wrong number of remaining waves are displayed for the rest of the fight.

I will give you a hint on how a free to play game becomes successful – you don’t make it so that you NEED to spend thousands of dollars in the game to progress. If you do then all the free players will quit and the players who might have been willing to spend a ton of money to be the best in the game have no reason to any more and will quit as well. What you want is to keep it so that free players can keep playing but progress much slower, people who spend a little bit of money can get stronger faster, and people who dump tons of money into the game can get to the end game pretty much instantly.

So you have:
1) Free Players – the guys who paying players want an advantage over
2) Average players – the guys who put a little bit of money in every now and then to get an advantage
3) The Whales – the guys who empty their pay check into the game so that they can be better than everyone else.

Right now you are catering solely to group 3, if the other 2 groups get frustrated and leave you won’t have group 3 either. Please rethink your development plans for this game and make it balanced so that the free and average players can keep playing.

The way you keep group 1 is to always have some method of progression from the beginning to the end no matter what.

The way you keep group 2 is to provide investments for diamonds that have “value” for your money so you feel like you are getting a good deal. This would be things like the VIP package (if it weren’t a total ripoff), the fragment packages, and the boxes that have lots of gold and darkness wheel spins for a reasonable price. I think you need to work on better value for your money in this category and adding more options if you want more people to keep paying small amounts of money.

Remember you need a player base to keep group 3 in the game and wanting to spend money, focusing just on gigantic money sinks for these players is not going to keep them around unless you are just cashing out and planning to shut the game down within the year.

Can I suggest for the next ranking competition you do some sort of scaled rewards so the people who got 11th or 12th don’t feel so left out?

For example this competition could have been organized like this:

Top 5: 3000 diamonds
Rank 6-10: 2000 diamonds
Rank 11-15: 1000 diamonds

Same total number of diamonds are given out but they are spread a bit more evenly across the player base. Disclaimer: I came in 9th so rewards like this would have hurt me this time around, but honestly I feel bad for the guys who finished just a little bit below me. Competition on Frost was harsh, especially in the BA competition, and there were definitely 15 players competitive in the race for those diamonds.
