Topic: EMP Game / Attracting & Keep new Players

I’ve tried this game a few times. Seems the servers were reset. That’s a drag.
I currently don’t have my own internet connection, so, can’t play too often. I can MAYBE get on, when I visit my parents (today).
Use of the game in a public library? Unknown: So many system restrictions. Previous experience had a much stronger player just sending wave after wave after wave of attack (I could NOT defend/rebuild/etc) THAT is one thing that tends to discourage players… old and new.

Topic: The Last Stand: Dead Zone / Problems

April 14th, AM, EST. Appears that the 3rd slot can’t be healed by either leader or medic on a 3-man scavenging mission. Am going to try a 4-man scavenge… 4 man works, 3 man, can’t heal 3rd spot

I’m going as far as to say you guys should look up the “no means no” phrase, and what it means> When I click NO to the PvP, I don’t want to be asked again, 1, 2, or 3 minutes later, ESPECIALLY if I’m in a trader vessel.

As for the research time, quest popping back up as you change a map, they’re in your face/in your way. The only way a lot of those quests are “new” after you’ve minimized them 10-20 times, is that they’re a "new"sance. Set an option so that we can tuck these away, semi-permanently. Maybe have them open on login, but, after that, for the game session, not to bother us again.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Sword & Magic] suggestion - fast forward button

That would give a big bonus on the “time” stat for finishing the dungeon.
I WOULD, however like to see one, even if the “time” stat is appropriately advanced as well.
Run a 2-minute fight in 20 seconds… but, tag the 2 minutes on to the time.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Throne of Swords] Bugs

3 sets of bugs:
Visitation, on occasion, seems to break (can’t visit)
Current bug: Diplomacy Points are NOT resetting since 1 Mar, 2013 (last new set was 28 Feb)
Current bug: Chests/Gear. I’ve opened a few chests, they WERE having one item disappears, and appear when next chest opened (and that gear go missing). Now, ALL new gear disappears. Chests vanish (lost a few armor/steeds/weapons as of late)
edit: ?most of? the missing gear has appeared in inventory in the last 2-3 hours.
DP still not reset.

Another suggestion, for completion of quests: put an “x”/close frame option for the prize payout… having it stick in the window for 30-90 seconds (depending how lagged/pooched flash is) is a pain when you want to access something under it.
Yay. Accomplished mission. now, go away, evil box.

@Wackie: repeat after a leave option. I like it, but, it would get messy if in a group. Nooblet1 goes to farm shells… gets to the boss, and leaves/restarts… BigBad1337er sticks around 300 rounds to kill the boss. Nooblet2 stays to help. Nooblet1 comes back into the group… not getting any more snarfs…. no more shells, but, ends back at the boss…
But, as for liking the idea… you don’t know how many times I’ve gone for spider legs, and gotten webbed by the big badbutt one at the end ;P

I’d suggest an option as well for group-start vs single player start where the whole group must click the start button… (wait for group to load/start option, as well as leader options to kick before the bloodshed starts)

as for [NIX] saving uranium…
I’ve ran in to a LOT of them abusing the uranium stealers.. from below range to hit highers up before that bug was fixed… even after warning them it was a bug, so, please don’t say they earned it fair and square. I was killing bosses, and had the little vultures… vulturing, and draining my uranium (for weapon refillls during boss fight) dry.
Another stunt, I guess made famous by [RUS] was the big boom abuse… higher level pk’ing well below the level with big boom, and a buddy right on hand to scoop the uranium/resources.
I know it’s not ALL the players doing it, but, I’d seen quite a few using those tactics while the bug was available.

There’s a buttload of mid-low 30’s noobs with big boom PKing WELL below their pk range (middling-low 20’s) with this. They’ve got their guild mate just behind to gather up the canisters. This abuse, and I DID say ABUSE is annoying.
Same with the nubs with the uranium extractor hitting you from 8 levels below, no aggro, can’t retaliate. (I think that was fixed in the last few days… but, still)

Big Boom: This is being abused by higher levels to PK out of their range.
I suggest having it affect those at level (or close 10%), “hostile” flagged ships, 20% range for enemy guild, and keep it as it is for your OWN guild. (Yes, allow you to blow up your own guild noob players)

Have a flag/circle on the map for where you last died (up to 3x or so) to help in recovering resources. Flag disappears when the resource bundle is either taken, or expires. (Possibly add research item for this, making it a skill, for 1, 2, 3, or 4 deaths, etc…

Add info on player who killed you/who you killed in a channel. Possibly also one filtered for mobs you killed (time, name, level, loc, and for players: guild)

Queuing research: I like the idea.
Flagging the map with the boss alert: nice.
Gem slot “setups”, again, a great idea: Need to have gems in stock, or equipped. Gem removed from setup if you drop below the required number.

Balance issue here, level 34’s are detonating some sort of bomb to kill level 26’s in G5.
WELL out of PK range.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Nova Raider] Please change boss loot

uranium for damage dealt… seen that equivalent in other games.. tends to screw over the “mage” or “cleric” type classes
Should be a way to tag players if they’ve actually participated in the boss kill, either by healing/buffing, or by direct damage (need to avoid the 1-hit wonders, tho).. and maybe put a timer on 1 the U capsules for them… 20 seconds, then ffa on the capsule?

XP loss…I HATE it as a penalty to getting gangbanged in PK, or by a player who’s had a lot more time to level up tech/character skills/whatever the game calls it, and just hangs out at the respawn points, nailing noobs. (See RUS, 8Bit, etc)
Now, as a game mechanic, for dying to PvE… yes. I FULLY agree there should be some penalty other than a bit of resource loss, slow down the leveling, stop people from constantly going into higher zones and kill stealing for the easy XP/levelup on stuff that will normally open them a new one.
TBH, I’m one of those who’ve leveled up a LOT faster than I wanted to… (My research is FAR behind what I want it to be)
I’d almost even ask for a toggle to DISABLE exp gain. (Maybe have it reset on relog, in case you forget about it, but, have a visual clue to you ie: red glow on ship?)
I’ve played other games where the put in the “easy button”… It gets tiresome fairly quickly (and, for some dumb reason, attracts more bots)

I know it’s a REAL pain to balance the game, to make it fun, and minimize the grind. (another game I’m playing, I get about 1% xp per week.. on a GOOD week, now.. and that’s with the “easy button” enabled.. I tend to take the safe quests, not leave safe area… Slow, but steady Log in about 5 hrs/week to do so… Just lost a lot of interest in that game due to MASSIVE imbalances, bot, cheats, etc… meh..)

Now, on the other hand.. when I was forced to move up into G4/G5 area… Just logging in, I’d be whacked within about 5 seconds… it was VERY difficult to keep equipped/armed/healed. the “easy” critters were a good match, but, 2-3 on one = death. That would pretty much keep a player suppressed for a good while as (s)he researches up to level, tho, cashflow may be an issue for getting said research done.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Nova Raider] Promoting Support players

1xp per heal… that could be massive XP very fast… Boss fight, with 3 “healing” weapons.. that’s …. a lot of xp being given out fairly quickly, if you cycle thru the weapons.
More reasonable would be maybe 1 xp per 20-30 healing.
each shot, on the low end, would be 120-150 xp? (At least for a trader-graded ship, no boost in cpu)

NO clue what the ancient coins do, but know people are paying a lot for them
Recent mining, I got 2, and pure iron. Those items, as well, as what I’d purchased from a player’s store have vanished after a recent reset (got stuck with the poison bug)

I’ve been one of the trader ships that goes in to FIGHT the bosses.
PLENTY of leechers/vultures… and they go PvP once you do kill the boss, or get it close to death.
Seems, in every game I play, douchebaggery is rewarded.

The quest and arena duel requests are over-the-top. Maybe ONCE every 15 minutes… or half hour… at MOST.. not every minute or so.
Option in menu to hide missions… Need an option to suppress the popup spam, and one to autorefuse duel requests. (yes, I’m talking about the (RUS) players. get a life, quit spamming, and quit camping the respawn.) Another option: some safe-time after being killed (30 seconds, to let you at least get away/get gear/change ships)

Issue also, in your OWN HQ, accidentally attacking buildings/etc.. Happens moreso, if you have drones.
