The stage is your work space. If you use flash you stage is the white section.

And Kongregate is for flash games. Flash games can be programed to do virtually anything!

Stickman is a good choice for a starting developer with no art skills. You don’t need an artist for drawing stickman figures. Really.

The text in the ink says you’re a ‘pretty good AS3 programmer’. Trust me when I say collaboration is rarely worth the effort. I’d only do it if the other guy had some exceptional talent which I couldn’t replicate. I think this game is something you should be able to make on your own. Hit the tutorials or the programming forums when you get stuck.
