(sorry I got annoyed. Wasn’t actually annoyed with gravey’s question, I thought it was quite instructive).

place is either something terrestrial that is in both hemispheres like the pacific ocean, London, the north pole, France, etc
or the place is extraterrestrial like the moon, alpha centauri etc

getting involved in stupid arguments like this is the reason I avoided actually participating in this game in the first place.

First of all, “place” is synonymous with “location” as far as I can tell, but then I’m pretty dumb. I didn’t even know Rasputin was a politician. Oh wait yeah whatever anyway
It doesn’t make sense to differentiate between place and location unless you’re going to provide a concrete definition of both. Like when I read a sentence like “Can this certain place be found in more than 1 location”, I ask myself: “OK. So…what the fuck is a place anyway? And what the hell is a location? What does gravey mean when he uses these words? What does everyone else think when they read them? Am I the only one who gets confused? Is every one else so sure what other people are thinking? Is everyone else psychic or something?” I suppose a question like this is very useful in a way because it makes us realise that we have no fucking idea what we are talking about.

I think what gravey’s thinking is that a ‘place’, in the context of this game, is just a thing that happens to be stationary. Like the example he gives, mcdonalds. But OK what about a mountain? Is that a place or a thing? What about a house? What about a kitchen? What about a kitchen sink? What about a tap?

I thought the whole point of differentiating between ‘place’ and thing’ in the first place was that a place has to be unique in space. So a place can be the mcdonalds at 34.1255°N 117.2946°W, but it can’t be just “mcdonalds”. I don’t know, this is becoming a big time suck so I think I’ll leave

I don’t know if I’d call Rasputin a politician. He was influential in politics I suppose, but then so was Barbara Bush’s astrologer.

10 Is this dead, non-(& possibly un-)american politician usually depicted with facial hair?

13. Is the “Person” in a book?

13. No.

(There are Peanuts comic books, so the answer was actually misleading.)

The answer given there was incorrect, but it was not misleading. On the other hand, the Yes&No answer to the tv&movies question was correct, but was misleading. See, if we’d gotten a straight No to tv&movies too, we might have tried other mediums and ended up getting a definite Yes for comic strips. Also, asking is the person in the book is a very unhelpful question. I can’t think of a single famous person who isn’t in some book, somewhere

Topic: Kongregate / Kongegate Becoming TOO Adult?

Look, I’m not about to get into some debate about what kong should and shouldn’t allow on this site. That’s why I said ‘goodbye’. I think any given game should be judged solely by how enjoyable it is, regardless of how much nudity or mainlining it contains. Clearly you disagree. We will continue to disagree long after this, and that’s OK (though I do think less of you).

No. I came back to dispute what you claim it is the guidelines say. For context, here’s what you said:

I want to know why it’s okay for a site that says “you cannot talk about sex and drugs and Rated R stuff in our chat rooms and forums” to allow for games with clearly R-rated material to be sponsored on their front page.

And then I said
Pretty sure it doesn’t say “you cannot talk about sex and drugs and Rated R stuff in our chat rooms and forums” anywhere on this site

And then you cited the conduct page and selectively quoted it, but I still don’t see “you cannot talk about sex and drugs and Rated R stuff in our chat rooms and forums” anywhere.

Even if you’re paraphrasing (but you clearly weren’t because you used quotation marks) I don’t read the guidelines as saying that. The guidelines say “approximately PG-13”, “extreme profanity” “overly-sexual language”. The modifiers there (i.e ‘approximately’, ‘extreme’, ‘overly’) are basically to give Kong wiggle-room. So at the moment the chat filter automatically censors ‘fuck’ and ‘panic until’. They can change it to also filter ‘shit’ and ‘piss’ if they want to, without changing the guidelines.

Also, using the phrase “overly-sexual language” kind of assumes that there is going to be sexual language of some form, but that they want to warn users not to let it get out of hand. It also makes it totally subjective. It means it is up to Kong what constitutes too much sex.

EDIT: goodbye for real this time. have fun.

Pretty sure it doesn’t say “you cannot talk about sex and drugs and Rated R stuff in our chat rooms and forums” anywhere on this site (well except in this thread, by you. And now me too). Pretty sure I’ve had conversations, in kong chat rooms, about sex, and drugs, and R-rated stuff (possibly rock and roll). Pretty sure in fact, that this very thread is about sex and drugs and R-rated stuff.

And I think it should bother you that all manner decapitation, torture, bloodbaths, death etc. is OK but a single pixelated nipple is guaranteed to cause some righteous zealot to make a thread like this. Because it sure as fuck bothers me. Goodbye.

I’m not sure exactly what the question is. I think the question is: “where is the line for a badged game?”
And the answer is somewhere between johnny rocketfinger’s fellatio and meatboy’s hot coffee
Seems kind of arbitrary to me but there it is, and that’s only if you’re talking about sex
If you’re talking about violence, I doubt there is a line
If you’re talking about drugs or rock and roll, I’m not really sure
