Topic: General Tyrant Discussion / [DEV] 4/16/2012 Bloodforge Update! v2.0.29

After a year of playing Tyrant, I have never heard of such an enormous outrage as before this update – and the developers did not listen one tiny bit.
We got new faction level rewards instead of an implementation of any other good idea such as resetting the factions regularly. We got a PvP arena which is obsolete with tournaments already there instead of a useful rehaul. And most importantly, we got crafting with the same insane numbers we knew already instead of quests. All in all, we got more grinding instead of new dynamic content. Only thing missing is more raids. But I am sure they will come eventually, assuming this games does not die off too quickly.

I sticked around even after all the talk about the developers being greedy. I mean, sure, they just want to make a living, but they are taking it to the extreme. They artificially inflate the content of this game, not by adding actual good new content, but my making even more silly rewards that require endless amounts of grinding.

And I ask you this, fellow player: Why do you play this game? Think about it, and then read on.

Surely, if anything, the purpose of a game without much artistic, social or intellectual value is only enjoyment. And now I also ask you this: Is this game still fun for you? Really? Did you not get caught up in the web of daily routine?

I know what applies in my case. After all the countless occassions where I should have quit this game, this one finally opens my eyes.
I am sure whatever justification you have for still playing Tyrant holds no relevance. Question it. And now think about how much Tyrant costs you. Do not waste your time. You can do better things with it.

At least get some Flying or Anti-Air. You are just asking for Support Carriers, Hover Pods and Azure Reapers to troll you. Predator is nice because it comes with a little extra Strike 1 if you want to kill that Abominable Raksha.
Moreover, Acropolis really only works versus Fear and unlucky slowrolls. Earthquake Generator is by far a more helpful structure as it also works against structures and deals insane amounts of damage against assaults when coupled with Enfeeble.

This is the one I use:

Granted, Hephatat would be a nice addition to this deck (instead of Marshal/Disposer, maybe), but those Ancient raids are so annoying.

Holy mother of necro. Who even cares for a high win-rate on Mission 66 anymore?

Also, if you want to know, you get a wrinrate of 95.87% with this deck on auto versus Mission 66:

This is not the point of the ship of Theseus, Mister Schopenhauer. Every single attribute of the faction gets changed. The tempo and atmosphere is a part of the faction, so if you change every part of the faction as with the ship of Theseus, you necessarily change the tempo and the atmosphere or you do not change the whole faction.

With great popularity it is easier to just post a thread on the forums than to notify every single person you played with that one quits. I reckon that after all EnixSR has done for the community he has earned the right to annoy us with his own little personal goodbye thread.

Topic: General Tyrant Discussion / ITS OVER 9000!!!! (actually 100)

Attack:

Defense:

The following is luck-dependant:

  • Both decks must be played in order.
  • Insanior has to regenerate 5 times.
  • Abolisher has to regenerate 19 times.
  • If Abolisher regenerates 20 times, all 9 Mimics in the last turn must hit the Wasteland Skimmer. (Using Daizon instead of Hydraulis would make this 8 Mimics.)

If all of the above is given, Insanior would end up with 101 attack or 98 damage.

So, is anyone willing to try out? I have only 3 Mirror Walls. ):

This is amazing. And even more unlikely than BoD regenerating 18 times. :P
On a side note, why not just use a Sustained Wall instead of Abolisher? That would make it a lot more likely to happen. Not only would Abolisher not have to regenerate (Sustained Wall always refreshes), but also would Abolisher never be rallied.

In which case that maths is pointless anyway because a Neverender played in the second last turn will have less expected health (3) than one played in the first turn (almost 4).

Reaching the limes would require infinite steps. And if you didn’t notice, Thomson’s Lamp also just uses a sum: The previous amount, starting by 1, plus 1/2^i, where i is the current step – comes surprisingly close to your sum, don’t you think?

Meh, we might just as well discuss if 0.9999… equals 1.

EDIT:
To clarify, this is Thomson’s Lamp:

That is not equal to 2.
And those are the expected values for Dozer Tank’s and Neverender’s health:

Topic: General Tyrant Discussion / ITS OVER 9000!!!! (actually 100)

Turn 1: Player plays Insanior. Insanior cooldown: 4.
Turn 2: Enemy plays a Bridge of Destiny that always regenerates.
Turn 3: Insanior cooldown: 3.
Turn 5: Insanior cooldown: 2.
Turn 7: Insanior cooldown: 1.
Turn 9: Insanior attacks and uses Berzerk 3 to increase its attack from 2 to 5.
Turn 11: Increases attack to 8.
Turn 13: Increases attack to 11.
Turn 15: Increases attack to 14.
Turn 17: Increases attack to 17.
Turn 19: Increases attack to 20.
Turn 21: Increases attack to 23.
Turn 23: Increases attack to 26.
Turn 25: Increases attack to 29.
Turn 27: Increases attack to 32.
Turn 29: Increases attack to 35.
Turn 31: Increases attack to 38.
Turn 33: Increases attack to 41.
Turn 35: Increases attack to 44.
Turn 37: Increases attack to 47.
Turn 39: Increases attack to 50.
Turn 41: Increases attack to 53.
Turn 43: Increases attack to 56.
Turn 45: Increases attack to 59.
Turn 47: Increases attack to 62.
Turn 49: Increases attack to 65.
(If BoD regenerates 18 times, the last attack will kill the commander.)

So, 65 is how much Insanior can get from his 2 base attack and Berserk 3 alone. However, Insanior won’t attack with the 65 attack again since the match is over. So, depending on what you think qualifies, it is either 65 attack or 62 damage dealt.

1 attack from a Rally Bloodthirsty commander (Lord of Tartarus) and plus 9 times 3 attack from 9 Fulfilling Mists for their Rally Bloodthirsty 3 makes Rally Bloodthirsty 28, leading to a total of 93 attack or 90 damage for me.

Just some nitpicking. Techincally you never arrive at the 6 HP for Dozer Tank (or 4 HP for Neverender). It is an unreachable upper limit, kind of like Thomson’s lamp.

Topic: General Tyrant Discussion / I hate raids

I agree with you, claytonde. I did not even bother with raids until recently with level 112 (only had some obligatory raid cards such as Azure Reaper). The only reason I pick up with raids now is because there is nothing left and grinding annoying raids is still better than grinding the same mission over and over. Still, I agree that we already have enough raids, and to think I have yet so much raid grinding to do just to complete my card collection infuriates me. And I cannot believe how people would find raiding fun, or even “the most fun aspect of this game” (I hope Psychatog was kidding there). Please do not make Tyrant more of a grind fest than it is already.

Devs said they will never change the stats of a card that was already released, so there is no point in crying for a nerf.

This. I have Radiant Dawnbringer and it sucks bad for being a legendary.
