I am exactly in the same place (working on my 10th reincarnation), and I switched to the Greed build with 12 Qid gems. I don’t know if that’s optimal, but I felt I wasn’t gaining gems quick enough. I’ll let you know if that’s enough in 24 hours or so – I am 7 hours into the run so far and I am at 41k buildings at the moment.

Actually, not only is it first, but easily first, and second, and third and on and on, until the bonuses are not enough and you have to go Greed (which happened to me right now, between 8th and 9th Reincarnation). This build might be all you’ll ever need to grind gems, in fact.

@Kholai: I don’t really see the maths behind all this, but I’ve just had a series of runs based on what you posted and got to Qids of gems. From now on I think I’ll Greed overnight and see what I can reap in the morning. Looks like I’m stuck with Greed builds from now on… just like everyone else at this stage of the game.

Topic: Realm Grinder / Anticlick Challenge?

I really wouldn’t mind seeing a trophy based on a clickless run. With the Headstart trophy you can get things going and it would be interesting to see, and definitely possible to do.

I think going through an entire reincarnation without clicking would be too punishing for those beyond R10, but earning a huge amount of coins could be an option.

And that’s what trophies are for, getting something that requires unconventional play for a while.

Once you do the quest and get the badge, do a soft reset and you’ll be able to pick them after aligning with good/evil/neutral. Make you sure you have at least 50 No gems by then, their upgrades are pretty expensive.

An overall suggestion: since the last update (and maybe even earlier), offline gains builds have been, basically, dead. Any active or semiactive build easily outperformed anything offline could ever offer. Perhaps it would be a good idea to boost offline play?

Even if there might be reasons to play offline before mercenaries, after the 3rd reincarnation there is no incentive whatsoever to get offline/passive boosts. Maybe allow offline casting for specific offline builds? That would certainly bring back more variety into the game.

Ive used this setup to great success (usually replacing Colossal Forge with Oversized Legends), but I’ve been wondering about some things:

1. How is Rainbow Link better than Fairy Swarm? Wouldn’t Cyclopean Strength offer much more through assistants than RL does?
2. Replacing Building Jungle for Professional Assassins increases the Harlequin bonus – isn’t that better off overall?
3. Would Replacing Professional Assassins for Blade Dance and switching Moon Blessing for Combo Strike offer more in the long run? Getting CS to 2500%+ shouldn’t be that difficult, and it would only get better from then on (not to mention Blade Dance)?

I don’t know enough how different types of bonuses interact with one another to offer any numbers here, but maybe anyone has
calculated these?

I’ll just add that I’m now working my way towards my 9th reincarnation, and I’d be very happy to know that there is an alternative to the evil Goblin Greed runs.

Some explanation would be welcome, though. Mercenaries don’t simply merge two factions, but rather pick 12 upgrades from all available upgrades of all factions.

Elves or Titans. You can easily double or triple your current gems, then just soft reset. Repeat until your gems reach quintillions, then move on to dwarves.

Personally, I look at Shadow Advance as reducing the income loss while autocasting Combo Strike. As far as not casting spells due to regen: Why not? It’s not like you’re going to get Shadow Advance up while you’re casting anyways, since it takes a full minute, and the gains from stacking spells are much higher than the loss of Shadow Advance.

I just did a quick test and it would seem that you do gain more from casting actively (Night Time + Combo Strike, followed by Tax Collection), as opposed to casting passively (Combo Strike + Call to Arms + Tax Collection). I have 1767 mana, so NT + CS passively is not possible. But – and it’s a pretty big but – with casting actively you basically have to keep your eye on the screen not to miss full mana bar, otherwise you get nothing. By a rather rough count it appears that casting actively grants twice the amount of coins, so it’s not that much of a difference, unless you can watch to screen and cast all spells as soon as the mana bar is full.

Furthermore, if I had 1800 mana, I’d easily switch to passive NT + CS, as I feel it’d be the best.

Mind you, it’s all based on observation, not numbers.

How about making the excavation level give an overall bonus to coin production? It persists through soft resets and it gets progressively more expensive, so it wouldn’t be overpowered. Excavation lvl 65 would translate into 65% bonus to production, so that wouldn’t be gamebreaking.

You misunderstand. I think none of us thinks that we are entitled to anything just because we can be bothered to go on this website and play a game for free. What is the issue here is the sudden change in the excellent communication we were used to from the start (yes, I’ve played this from the beginning). It would be perfectly understandable if now the devs just posted something along the lines “it’s going to be another month, these things take time”. Just keep us informed, that’s all.

Cannot help but agree, I can totally understand that developing the game takes time, but what really gets me is the sudden drop in the quality of communications with players. You used to be so great guys, keeping us up to date and all, and now it’s all gone.
