I agree that there should be more BB items, and they could be more expensive, too. This would of course require raising BB limit (5000?)

Thanks Phil – that’s a damn quick fix :)

Still, can you either make the game remember the state of the list (hidden/unhidden) or make it hidden by default? I am sure most people would rather see what’s being said in the chat rather than who’s in the guild (or how often they log in).

Suggestion: scrolling is a real pain in the neck in here: two most annoying scrollings are guild and saved setups.

Could you make list of guildmates hideable? Something like procs details in My Vampire tab would be great. Right now I have to scroll all the way down through 66 people to see what they have to say.

Similarly, saved setups are pain to use with all that scrolling. Could you add at the top of the Saved Setups tab quick select buttons corresponding to each saved slot? If not, could you make, say, three buttons that would be Favourite slot 1, 2, and 3? I find myself frequently using ome setups (max BL, PvE, PvB) and it would make my life much much easier with quick buttons. Three is just the minimum, the more, the better, but they should stay always at the top of that page.

You don’t use it. The moment you’ve got it, you’re able to equip your third servant.

I’ll take another 400 BDs, if the offer’s still standing. IGN Aku.

Could you check that Crush works as intended? I’ve seen it several times block only one servant, even though it should (theoretically) block two.

Hi, I can buy a large number of BDs from you – say, 250? That’s a round million credits back to you. 350 is ok, too, for 1.4 million.
If you’re interested, send me an offer (ign: Aku). For some reason it’s not possible to offer credits in exchange for BDs, it has to be the other way round…

@TheMadTopHatter: your wins not registering might be due to the level of the attacker – if their level is 2 or lower than yours, you won’t get any VPs for the defensive win, which also means that it will not be counted towards completing the quest.

@Vidiot966: Stuff you buy from Club Noir is not disenchantable and I think it’s to prevent a way of converting credits to rubies. But they could be made sellable for credits at some loss, though. I don’t really like to see that butterfly knife sitting in my inventory all the time…

Topic: Chronicles of Blood / Kongregate Guild for high levels

I would be interested if we could get at least 10 people into the new guild. That would be enough to fight coven bosses, setting the minimum damage output per member at 150%.

I imagine the lowest acceptable level for members would be around 60?

IGN: Aku, currently lvl 72.

Oh yes, and I’ve nothing against fighting low level bosses in order to get appropriate talent points. From then on, of course, there’s no reason to fight low level bosses at all.

Don’t worry, there’s no cap on your VPs. The 115/115 thing just shows that you have earned 115 VPs in total, and you have 115 VPs available out of them. If you spent 80 VPs on something, you would have 35/115.

You need to earn your talents. See the Earned Talents tab to see what you have to get talent points. It’s generally a bit of an effort to get all 41.

That’s great news. I look forward to it, along with the new location. Not that I will be able to access it (not for a few months, I expect), but it’s good to see the game developing. Keep it up :)

To be honest, I’d rather see the final result only – that is, the actual number of VPs I gain/lose. So, attacking an equal would simply award 3 VPs (not 5-2 spread over a few lines of text). I don’t think players really need to know that they spent 2, gained 5, and in the end get 3 VPs. After losing a battle the info would be on the lines of ‘you lost 1 VP’. I think you could preserve the same mechanics as you have now (I recall reading something about players letting a lost battle time out and thus escape without losing the VPs), just change the display and remove the whole refund thing from the wiki (as the refund clearly does not work).

You know, the charm of simplicity :)

What was kind of frustrating for me was the fact that I was supposed to get the 2 VPs refunded after a victorious battle, but the refund never worked and I ended up wondering whether there something wrong with my character, the game or the wiki.

Hi Querylon, this is is your only possible PvP opponent ;) I wish I could say the same about you, but your sapphire accessories tip the odds heavily in your favour… I feel I would be wasting my bloodlust.

Nevertheless, I was wondering if you’ve noticed this thing about VPs – either the displayed info is incorrect or the refund is not working. Could you check how many VPs you get the next time you attack me? If I am correct, it will say you get 5 VPs (assuming we’re still equal level), but in fact you will only get 3.

This VP thing has been bothering me for quite a long time and, with my fast levelling, was one of the reasons I stopped PvP completely.

The avatars in the Earned Talents tab should also be updated to match the new portraits.

I undersand the intention, and my comment about weirdness of this all was not regarding the complexity of the calculations, but the inconsistency of the current system. If I attack someone 5 levels lower I should lose two points – and currently that is not the case. If I attack an equal, I gain 3 points, not 5.

So, to recap – the formula is 3 VPs plus the level difference between attacker and defender. Thus, if you win you actually get:

Attacking someone 5 levels stronger awards 8 points.
Attacking someone 4 levels stronger awards 7 points.
Attacking someone 3 levels stronger awards 6 points.
Attacking someone 2 levels stronger awards 5 points.
Attacking someone 1 level stronger awards 4 points.
Attacking an equal is worth 3 points.
Attacking someone 1 level weaker awards 2 points.
Attacking someone 2 levels weaker awards no points (tehchnically it should be 1 point, but it isn’t).
Attacking someone 3 levels weaker awards no points.
Attacking someone 4 levels weaker awards no points.
Attacking someone 5 levels weaker awards no points.

Losing a battle always costs one VP. The information displayed says you gain one point, but bear in mind that you spent two points to initiate the battle.

Considering all this, either the information displayed after battle is incorrect and misleading, or the 2 VPs refund does not work.

Also, avatar wars need to be tested separately, although it is a good guess that the above mentioned values are simply doubled.

Also, at this point I would like to thank you for creating a game that is perfectly playable for free and for keeping working on it. Keep up the good work :)

Oh yes, an afterthought – if I remember correctly, you get your points back if you attack someone 5 levels lower, but you don’t gain any (obviously). The thing is, you don’t get any even if you fight someone 4, 3 or even 2 levels lower. Also, to make this all more complex, you don’t lose points for attacking someone 2, 3, 4 or 5 levels lower – so presumably the refund does work in this situation. It’s all a bit weird, that’s what it is.

That is perfectly clear, thanks for the answer. However, it is only theory – in fact, that formula does not work. A battle against your equal (lvl difference = 0) awards only 3 points (basing on My Vampire screen stats), even though after the battle it correctly says that you get 5 points (presumably 3 for winning a battle against an equal, 2 refunded). Still, VPs counter goes up only by three points. It is even weirder when you fight someone few levels lower – attacking someone two levels lower awards no points, and in theory it should be 3 (3 base – 2 level difference + 2 refunded).

Again, the info displayed after battle is “correct” – but what you really get is different.

To complete the picture – if you lose a battle against an equal, the screen says that you gain one VP, while in fact you lose one point (1 point gained for the battle minus two points spent to initiate it – overall, one point loss).
