That’s just counting the single upgrade from T3 V to T4 I. Unless I’m incorrect you could simply multiply the quantities by 5 to obtain the complete T3 V to T4 V pricing.

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Request for Return of Starry Coupons

I lost 6 starry coupons by accidentally clicking to refill iron ore after a bit of a lag spike. If find the fact that spending special items does not have a confirmation window to be poor design at the best, and duplicitous/dishonest design at the worst. Please consider returning them to me if you value my business as a paying customer.

Topic: Time World / WoH Tournaments: Bad Implementation

Now that gem rewards are available for wins, I’m guessing we’re not going to see a 0 AP PvP system, which is a shame. I’d rather visit a planet and collect resources and a possible 7 green gems as opposed to fighting another player and collecting a possible 3 green gems and an iffy shot at a reward five days away…

On PvP and AP
Legitimate alternatives to 1 AP per fight
1) Give players a number of free PvP battles per day (ex 10/20) before dipping into AP.
2) Give players a MUCH better ratio of fights per AP. Ex: convert 1 AP into 5/10 FP (or whatever term you want to use), each of which can be used for a single PvP battle.
3) Some combination of 1&2

On PvP mechanics

Stacking the deck with jesters doesn’t necessarily solve the problem because either player can do it, and it’s not feasible for players who don’t want to load up on tech heros.
I’m not sure how I feel about auto-discard, because the player with more cards and/or HP will probably sit there and do nothing until the opponent plays. An auto-play function when five cards are present and at least one is playable might be feasible, but even then it means the player forced to play first is going to have problems.
The ideal approach would be simultaneous deployment, but I’m guessing that would require too much revamping of the system.

In any case, given the status quo, the test is going to be whether or not the arena becomes a wasteland once the novelty wears off.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / Farewell guys.

Just a heads up to xRedx999x: In all likelihood, there was never a plan for a non-beta version of the game. Leaving the game in a beta phase protects Nival from any accountability to players who pay money for goods or services in the game. It is a fairly common tactic for small-scale cash gimmicks in the MMO market.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / No more immortal units links?

I will say that the excuse they provided for this change was extremely weak and unconvincing. To quote the patch notes

“The changes were made after deep and thorough analysis of the existing situation. The users who actively used this links to get units and gold got an advantage over those who weren’t so active and tried to get more units and gold by the in-game ways. Thus we came to the conclusion that our players need to obtain new units and gold by playing the game and not by using the links.”

In fact, the opposite is true. The fact that links were preserved for well over a day after posting meant that less active players could hop on and collect a substantial number of helpful units from existing links. The cynic in me believes that they wanted an uptick to traffic for a few days, so added the link system without restriction (it worked, apparently), but planned to tone down the rewards quickly so as not to impact long run purchasing of booster packs. If it weren’t the case that by inconvenient “coincidence” that inquisitors are unavailable through Wanteds I would be less cynical, perhaps.

Is there a total maximum limit on the number of invites you can send out for WANTED battles?

I’m getting the message “You have reached the maximum limit for help requests,” which I had not received up until now.

(This problem is entirely distinct from the 50 friend limit, from what I can tell.)

EDIT: Apparently the refresh for this is distinct from the daily reset. I’m uncertain as to how the mechanism works.

“F.) I thought this was the place, i saw nival posting in other parts of this forum so I just assumed this was the place.”

No — you are correct. This is a perfectly valid place to post suggestions and discussions about game mechanics. Since this game is at the Beta phase, I suspect they are more than welcome. Alternatively, you can post suggestions at http://www.playkb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142, but it is fairly barren at the moment.

I found your suggestions to be on spot and perfectly constructive, for what it’s worth, with points A and D meriting the greatest priority.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / PvP Quests, Can't get a win.

I stopped PvPing early on because even when I win I can count on spending massive amounts of money and (usually) stamina to recoup the losses I take, and probably not getting the crafting materials I need.

It’s honestly probably best to assess early on whether or not you stand a chance in PvP and then bail if you’re facing an obviously stronger opponent.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / Battles scaling with level. AKA don't level up

“If u losing most of ur troops then u probably just speeding to much. This is an MMO, and as such requires grinding. If the battles are to hard and u lose more than u earn then go back and keep ur self busy with daily quests u can do.”

You’re using the term “grinding” incorrectly. Running daily quests is the right way to do it — but that’s not “grinding.” In this case, grinding would refer to either
1) Fighting non-quest related monsters over and over again for gold/exp (ex: “The Maritime Brotherhood” in Karakol)
2) Running patrols over and over again for extra gold/exp.

At present, taking either of these actions (as would be the expected norm) is counterproductive, and will ultimately make playing the game more difficult due to the lack of resources obtained. You’re better off doing neither of these and just doing dailies, storyline quests, and Wanteds.

“If you ever bring the full Demon list over to the game, please, please censor the Demonesses.”
Maybe I’m just jaded, but I don’t recall the demoness-type troops being particularly provocative, mostly due to their scaly skin.

I have to agree with the majority of your suggestions, fwiw. I might differ on dropping the xp gain for patrols, but only because it seems like that would be treating the symptoms of a diseased difficulty-to-level scaling setup, which would be my priority to see fixed, followed closely by the PvP problems you outline.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / Battles scaling with level. AKA don't level up

Tend to agree that is a problem.

Some solutions:
1) Hard-cap the power of scaling battles.
2) Soft-cap the power of scaling battles. (This is probably the best solution — enemy troop power should eventually peter off from endlessly increasing at a linear pace with level.)
3) Scale the rewards.

At present, doing patrol seems really counterproductive since it boosts your level WITHOUT giving you all the important stuff you would get through chosen WANTEDs and dailies. This may be one of the few pay-2-play games where an item you buy in the shop may unwittingly make the game more difficult for you (the Ranger’s license).

All griping about this issue aside, I am really enjoying this game.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / remmber when flash games were free

ANSWER THIS. How do you know that it’s not GameStop-Kongregate that is forcing developers into putting the pay to play BS in their games, or is it just the Devs.?”

Because GCL had premium content when it was first developed and released for Armor Games, which has zero to do with Kongregate. Try constructing a new conspiracy theory.

The developer probably realized he was putting more effort into his flash games than many console developers that push out garbage, and decided to include premium content for people willing to toss a few bucks his way. Unless the nature of the premium content has changed since GCL was initially released on AG it is more than playable for free.

This entire thread reeks of entitlement, and helps remind me of just how absurdly spoiled people have become.

Edit: And there is NO reason you can’t get 50 kreds WITH ease via free surveys. I’ve accumulated and spent hundreds of kreds by being patient and doing two surveys every couple of weeks.

Actually putting the cap at even 200 WOULD give you more time for real life. I’d much rather log in every 3 hr 20 minutes and play for 20 minutes than log in every 1 hr 40 minutes and play for 10 minutes. OTOH, unless they adapt to include a separate stamina-type meter (which I see as a win-win for them) they’d potentially lose cash off the folks willing to shell out a substantial amount of money for 100 energy, primarily for PvP purposes. I would conjecture that the refills are the biggest obstacle at the moment, but of course I don’t have any solid data on what people spend to back that up.

As for badge hunting, I don’t really blame the developers of Tyrant; I blame Kongregate, since I don’t think this was the right kind of game for badges.

Topic: General Tyrant Discussion / Mission 28 HELP Needed

I have to admit to being puzzled about the sawblade zerg myself. There are a fair number of flyers there, and I don’t see how you can take down 15 hp quickly enough, particularly when the weakens start rolling in (and they come quickly). I’m currently grinding rep on 28 for the Dalia reward, and I am using the following:
Thadius
2x Aquabat
2x Harbor Command (these have been key to my victory so far)
2x Cerberus
Terminator
Apex
Pandemic
Aegis.
I’ve had some close calls, but no losses yet with this configuration.
I see there are several you don’t possess, but I think you can probably come up with something similar.

Keep in mind that playing a structure on the first turn (if available) will provide you with flexibility in matching up assault troops, unless your opponent also uses a structure. I usually pull out an aquabat at the first deployment of a blood pool or when they become available. 2xblood pools and the queen’s leech is rather unpleasant to deal with unless you can rally/attack/strike her for 6 in one round.

Edit: Sawblade zerg did work for me once but failed on the second try when queen and blood pool were the first cards the opponent played.

I personally don’t think it will work that way. You could try, but I’m don’t think so.

You are correct, thanks.

One more question — is it unusual for a “legendary soul” lizardman to be worse than most of my henchmen when I got him? Is there some advantage (will he catch up or supersede them eventually, etc.)?
