Thats the Solo Arena X-D.

For the group arena, I’d go with Elwyen, Legion, Gloria, and Mardek. However, if you haven’t worked on those characters at all, and don’t want to, I guess any team is fine. Just make sure you have lots of different elemental attacks, some healing, and good consumables. Good equipment also helps. Be ready to face 3 annoying twats and their dad/grandpa at the end. =-D

He sells good potions, an elixir, and an infinite number of Liquid Lightening, Alchemist’s Fire, Really Cold Water, and Bottle O’ Acid.

The last for items are limited if you killed Gope. You can buy 30 of each from the Potion vendor at Aeropolis Temple District, and 5 from the Priest in the Sun Temple. Then you will have to farm them off monsters.

With that weapon, you’re pretty much screwed if Sslen’ck gets berserked by Furious Eyes. Instead, equip a Mighty Axe & Accuracy+50%.

I managed to throw a Liquid Lightening attack the Happy Johnny before the Furious Eyes got berserked. But I see your point.

Or just use Drackal Crescent with SOulstrike.

Wouldn’t SoulStrike change the Drackal Cresent’s element to Earth? Meaning that the Happy Johnny can absorb it like it can absorb the Stone Axe’s attacks?

Topic: MARDEK RPG: Chapter 3 / Missable things

Due to limited stock of certain reagents/gemstones, some “craftable” things are missable. I made the mistake of making a Silver Axe when it can be farmed from axtotl chiefs, and now I’m missing out Silver Mirror due to the limited Silver Ores. Due do the limited amount of candriathopes in the game, the Golden Mirror might also be missable, if you choose to keep a candriathope for yourself. Since there is only ONE jade in the game, the Gylph shield is missable if you keep the jade for yourself.

There is also a limited stock of throwing “potions” (Alchemist’s Fire, Liquid Lightening, ect) for people who decided to kill Gope in CH2. 30 can be bought from the shop in Aeropolis Temple District, a few from the Priest in the Sun Temple, and some can be found in random chests, but that’s about it.

Dreamshrine is where I levelled most of my characters to 20+ before the arena.

I needed the drops there for item crafting anyways.

Well, if you consider Elwyen’s Dolorous Dirge, the damage increases by a rate of about 3.5 points every time she levels up. So exp level may play a part in how damaging your physical attacks and magic are, but a very small one.

I thought only SPR affected Dolorous Dirge?

Purify: Viper Claws found in Lifewood

Astral Form: Soulstone found in Miasmal Citadel/DreamShrine

The artifact is The Ether Crystal. I’m sure it’s in a bookcase somewhere. Check the lizard place and Aeropolis libraries.

If you have Astral Form then why Liquid Lightnings against the Golem?

Because I have an infinite supply from Gope =P

I was in a rush to finish the arena and could spare the extra GP. It’s probably more efficient to just attack, but I wanted to get it over with quickly.

Or is their a better way?

Well, I didn’t find a better way, but it worked, in 2nd try, Zach with his high evasion got lucky… Speedy potion, liquid lightning, and the Golem went down quite fast…

Now Mereador has to learn how to fight Molestor, I think that he has a problem with hitting hard on dark enemies, but oh well, I’ll find a way to prevail :) (or someone here might have a tip or two).

Night Jacket and the Molestor will just heal you. And he ALWAYS uses Darkside and Void, only used a physical attack once in my Mereador Arena.

He will use Physical attacks once he runs out of MP. Check his MP by clicking his info bar.

III – Character-Specific Tips: Part III (Optimal Set)

X – Zach

- Use elemental bottles as usual. Use techniques or regular attacks on bandits if you want to, since they will never damage you because you will absorb their attacks. Use Immortal Justice against the turquoise if you have it.
- Against the Golem, use a Speedy Potion, and then heal to full health. Every turn, throw a Liquid Lightening, and then heal to full health. If the Golem’s attack misses, then throw 2 Liquid Lightenings. Just make sure the Golem cannot One-Hit-KO you on his turn.

XI – Verhn

- Be sure to have Sleep and Confuse immunity on (Passive Skills), and a Light Shield.
- Sword attack/Disrupt Undead on Dark/Undead creatures and Dreamfish, bottles on everything else.
- Throw fire bottles against the undead paladin. If you have a Light Shield, his attacks will heal you.

IV – The Rewards:

- For every arena completed, you will receive a special accessory that only the character who’s arena was completed will be able to equip.
- If you complete ALL the arenas, speak to the trilobite at the counter to receive the Warlord’s Soul, which increases strength by 8 and HP by 500.

VII – Sharla:

- Spells/Bottles on monsters, depending on elemental resistances (Fire bottles on spirits).
- Nothing else, really. Watch your HP, you can heal with spells to save potions.

VIII – Donovan:

- Make sure to have Confusion immunity equipped (Passive Skill).
- Appropriate Spells/Bottles on each monster. Remember that Earth Bottles work best on water creatures.
- Fire Spells/Bottles on the Griffin.

IX – Meraeador:

- Take out all enemies with Elemental Bottles. Thermal spanner on Yellow Spirits if you want to save them.
- Take out the Witch Doctor monsters, then the Souls that damage you most.

III – Character-Specific Tips: Part I (Optimal Set)

- Recommended Level (any character) with OPTIMAL SET: 20+

I – Mardek:
- By now, he should have mastered every elemental slash. These should make this arena a breeze.
- Use your sword for light damage on everything else.

II – Gloria:
- By now, she should have elemental spell. These should make this arena a breeze.
- Take advantage of elemental resistances.

III – Elwyen:
- Grab a few elemental bottles, and the Requiem music sheet.
- Boost agility if low leveled.
- Use appropriate elemental concoction on elemental monsters, and Requiem on the Undead.

IV – Legion:
- Hopefully, he knows every multi-target spell. (Tsunami/Earthquake/Inferno/Thunderstorm).
- If not, use Bubble/Fire Breath, or bottles.

V – SSlen’ck:
- Use DragonTech Skills/Bottles depending on the monsters.
- Use Liquid Lightening on Happy Johnny.
- During the Golem fight, use a Speedy Potion, then heal to full health. Each following turn, use a Liquid Lightening and then heal to full health, until the Golem is dead.

II – Equipment: Part IV: Consumables.

- Consumables: Some characters may need HP/MP restoration along the way, depending on their level. Some will also need Elemental Concoctions (Alchemist’s Fire, Really Cold Water, Liquid Lightening, Bottle O’ Acid) to damage foes who are resistant or immune to damage the character can deal using their weapons and skills.

- HP restoration: Chocolate Milk (Bought from Gonzor Secret Shop for 900 Gold; restores 1,000 HP and cures all status effects but Zombification, Bleeding, and KO’d) OR Figjuice (Bought from Gonzor Secret Shop for 1,000 Gold; restores 2,000 HP). Personally, I’d take a few of each (Except when you have characters with less than 1,200 HP or so. Just take Chocolate Milk then).

- MP restoration: Regular Ether (Bought from practically any city for 600 Gold; restores 100 MP). This is what I would use. Some characters may not need MP restoration at all (Elwyen), but if you need it, then take a few Ethers. There’s no need to go for Ether of Queen/Kings.

- Both?!: God Piss (Bought from Gonzor Secret Shop for 600 Gold; restores 600 HP and 60 MP). You can use this for some characters if you want both MP and HP restoration. It’s your choice. (Personally, I wouldn’t use it. I’ve concluded it comes from the Innkeeper at Gonzor. Pay him a visit some time ;-D. )

- Status-Cleansing: Remedies (Bought from practically anywhere for 500 gold; cures all status effects except KO’d). Just get Chocolate Milk…alright…use with FigJuice/God Piss IF you’re low on cash…really…just use Chocolate Milk…

- Elemental Concoctions: Some characters MAY need these, to deal with some pesky waves that are immune to other damage. They can be bought from Gope for 500 Gold a piece. I’ve heard complaints that people who decided to kill Gope during CH2 only have a limited supply of these, from other shops, and from chests. My advice is to spend long hours farming these bottles from monsters who drop them (I know some monsters in the Volcano drop Alchemist’s Fire), or beg Pseudolonewolf for a patch to allow for more stock. This might be old news, forgive me.

- Recommended Consumables:

- MugwortJuice (If you’re doing the arena with low-levelled characters).
- Chocolate Milks.
- 40 of each elemental damage bottle.
- 5 SpeedyJuicies (A must for some Arenas).

II – Equipment: Part III: Alternative Sets.

- The “Hard-Mode” Gear: This will take some research and testing to come up with. Heck, it will take ALOT of research and testing. So please be patient, or make one up and contribute it here. You probably will still be using the Night Jacket for everyone but Legion and Solaar, because of how easy it is to obtain. However, alternatives might be provided for more “Hardcore” gamers who want a challenge.

II – Equipment: Part II: Optimal Set.

+ IMPORTANT +

The OPTIMAL SET: This set of items will allows you to dominate the arena. The BASE bonuses of this set (without shield/helmet/weapon/skills) are: 80% Fire/Water/Air/Earth resistance, 70% Light resistance, 120% Dark ABSORPTION, 40% Aether/Fig resistance, 5 Defense/M. Defense AND Auto Shield/M. Shield. The downside is that it requires a little work to obtain. It is EXTREMELY, HIGHLY, ABSOLUTELY recommended to obtain this set. If you’re going for 100% game completion, or Impossible Badge, then you will get those items eventually, so it is recommended you get them BEFORE the arena. I cannot stress how much they help. Without further a-do, here they are:

- Night Jacket: Absorb Dark 20%, Resist Fire/Water/Air/Earth 20%. Buy this from the Aeropolis Magic Shop, District of the Mind, for 10,000 shiny coins. This is the easiest to obtain, and goes in the ARMOR slot.

- Rainbow Disc: Resist Fire/Water/Air/Earth/Light/Dark/Aether/Fig 40%. Find this in a chest in the Dreamshrine. You will need all 16 dreamstones, not including the one dropped by Qualna, to enter this area. Go to the tree in the Lifewood while in the Dreamworld with all 16 Dreamstones, and the portal will open to the Dreamshrine. Explore a little and you will find it. This is the second easiest to obtain, and goes in the ACCESSORY slot.

- Scarab of Protection: Defense 5, M. Defense 5, Auto Shield, Auto M. Shield, Resist Fire/Water/Air/Earth/Light/Dark 20%. This is dropped by the Superboss Animus, found in the same place as the Rainbow Disc (You will not need to defeat him for the rainbow disc, BUT you will need to defeat him for Kongregate’s Impossible Badge). I think the Auto shields are enough of an incentive to go and defeat Animus. He’s not that hard with the right tactics. This is the hardest to get, and goes in the ACCESSORY slot.

This set will get you through ANY character’s Arena, EXCEPT FOR Legion and Solaar, who cant equip the Night Jacket. For Legion, take the best Robot Armor you have. For Solaar, go with a VIT Stole, or a Steel Stole.

Again, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO GET THIS SET. IT WILL SAVE ALOT OF TIME AND TROUBLE. But if you don’t want to get it (Or want more of a challenge)…
