Key and Box suggestion
Get rid of the keys. Seriously. I (and quite a few other people, I suspect) find it very annoying when I get a box that needs a key to open it and I don’t have the key. Either that, or do some sort of Daily Quest where you can get keys (i.e. trade two Coin Boxes for one Silver Key).

Unit suggestion
Right now, most of the units have very similar stats. For instance, Archers have an attack value of 100, whereas Artillery has an attack value of 130. In reality, though, I suspect Artillery would be much, much more powerful. My suggestion is to make the unit stats more varied in terms of attack and defense, and at the same time, to raise the cost of the more expensive units.

  4. Scouts – I scouted a town that had 0 population and 0 coins. Yet I lost 5/10 scouts that I sent. The town was empty. There were no units, no buildings, no people. How could I have possibly lost scouts from this?

Here are my replies to your questions:

Coins — You can publicize the feeds to your profile. If your friends click on your feeds, you can get the rewards.
Wilderness — You can use the War Ensign to speed up your march to the wilderness.
Heroes — The higher your level is, the more heroes you can recruit. You can also attack the wilderness to capture heroes.
Scounts — Your scouts may encounter attack on the way. There are aslo other reasons.

Great, but do you think you can add any way to earn more coins faster or hourly, because coins is the major problem for me, resources I can deal with: I know I have to wait, but I was wondering if you could implement some like an hourly reward of coins. Also, I know of the daily repetitive quest Levy, but 50 coins every 10 minutes seems to…plain or not effective.

Currently, for new players, we have free package with free coins to give away. We believe this will help in some ways. For other players, we currently encourage them to win coins through other ways including finishing quests and marketplace (coming soon).
However, we will think about more alternatives. Thanks for your suggestion:)

Topic: Lord Of Ages / What Lord of Ages Needs to Do, and What are the Dev's Plans Moving Forward

And coupled with some less than stellar aesthetic features, such as some points in the interface, and the entire World Map itself feels pretty bland and boring.

This is however of course, a Beta game. And it looks like a Beta game. But that is to be expected. However, the only way LoA is going to be truly successful, is if the devs focus on a point of the game that makes it different, and makes the things that are to be expected from a game like this good as well. But I just don’t see that yet. So if LoA wants to be successful, they REALLY, REALLY need to do what the players want and feel should happen. I highly encourage the devs to seriously take into consideration any suggestion a player may have. Whatever it is, LoA needs something that makes it stand out from the huge crowd of these types of games, along with perfecting the factors that make these types of games enjoyable.

My personal concern is that the game needs more players to make the game better, and as such, attract more players, and repeat the cycle. I think the devs should try and implement some kind of referral system while the game is young, to spread the word from it. Maybe even reward with G-Cash or something nice, to add incentive. Speaking of G-Cash as well, a lot of people do not like games that overdo the whole cash shop thing. So please, do not make it so that paid items severely imbalance the aspects of the game. If you spend $1,000 on the game of item shops, and play a lot, then yes, you should be a top player. If you pay like $20 and can absolutely destroy all the other non-paying players, that is not right. Being good on these types of things will help with keeping a good community, but first you have to get that. Again, as a side note too, I absolutely hate the entire Map design, as it looks so terribly bland and boring. I also do not see much point in the nations and such so far, but maybe you guys will build on that.

So basically, I just said that the game needs some work. It is good right now, but not good enough for me to take it over another game I have been playing. It needs some “wow, cool feature” thing that makes it a standout game. That just isn’t there yet. Get that done, work on other things that make this genre great, and then optimize aesthetics, and whammo, you got a great, standout game. Of course, having more players and them voicing their concerns helps that along much quicker, and Kong is great at that. You just need to make it so we want to come play this game. Design a referral system, put some more ads somewhere, just do something so that there are not 10 people in the game on Kong at the MAX.

(Also, a personal question, when the game launches fully to all players on Kong, will Kong get a new server, like in other games of this genre? Because at the moment, I am pretty sure we are combined with other servers. Also, do something about the map’s blandness! If I haven’t stated that already :P)

Hi , i have to say you are really nice and professional to offer such a good idea. It is also very nice of the Kongregate players to give us so many feedback. We really appreciate that.

To better the game experience and differentiate LOA from others, we have been thinking and planning to listen to all the feedback of you guys and optimize them. Adding a new feature that is special is inside our plan. It should be a big system, so it may take time. Look forward to it:)

As a fix, it might be good to change the system a little so that if a person has been inactive for let’s say 10 days to a month that their city no longer gets the <5x prestige protection and is free game for all players who want to attack them. Otherwise, these cities will just be sitting there, taking up space with no benefit to those who actually dedicate to the game. Alternatively, we can also have an autodeletion of inactive players/cities so that it would allow more space for wilderness to appear.

For nationality, it does not choose different servers. Initially I thought it was, but I see all nations on the map, and there are not enough players to support all of those servers. I think there is just one big server with all players on it at the moment.

Well, for nationality, it does not mean that you are choosing different servers. It is designed for new feature that is inside the plan.

Then with this final building space, you pick from a list of buildings which add to what kind of city you will have. It could be a resource booster, and army booster, faster recruiting booster, better inn booster, etc. Just a whole ton of things to choose from to make your city feel unique.

The map could also use some new things. There should be some sort of thing where if you occupy it, it yields to you additional resources per hour. Like a Iron Mine would increase iron etc. There should also be NPC armies that people could attack. Not just a wilderness. But an army that you seek out in accordance with perhaps some quests or such. It would be more similar to a real player’s army with troop variety.

These are all just ideas, but I feel I good number of them could easily be implemented, and some have worked well in other games of this genre.

Delete Feature
This feature is mostly meant for the City but will also be useful in the Town, after a(n) building has been built the creation can be deleted or sold for a fraction of the resources needed to create it (including coins too).

Move Feature
After something has be built it can be moved or replaced in another empty/vacant plot, of course it recent position will become vacant.

These aren’t necessary, but they would be good features/enhancements to add.
