Ok, so I loaded a game earlier and forgot to log in. As soon as the chat loaded, there was a Kong message saying “Did you know this game have achievements?” and beside the message there was this ‘badge’:

Also, I use Paint.NET for these things, just because it uses less system resources and my computer just isn’t good enough to run Firefox and Photoshop at the same time. All you really have to do is distort it in any direction you want, then use multiple motion blurs and duplicate layers under it. After that, you can add shine and other things.

Well, I’m a little less busy than I’ve been recently, so could probably do something again… The reason I haven’t had the motivation to do any new art is that Aidan has already started the address bar art, and the rest of the icons are hardly ever seen and/or I don’t even know how to start them because I don’t know where they actually reside in the browser! These icons include the mail icon, page info icons, and the icons in ‘organizer-toolbar.png’.

Okay, so the light gray for the star normally, dark gray for the hover, red or blue for bookmarked.

And the info icon… Looks slightly similar to Kong’s “what’s this?” icon.

Not much, but I just posted this so Aiden and I wouldn’t waste time doing the same things.

I thought I’d have a go.

Wow, that looks awesome, bobuchan! I love the zombie ant. The only thing I see as a problem would be your text, which wouldn’t fit the “x online playing x games”. Also, the text seems very bland compared to your awesome drawings.

I’d work a little on the key, it looks a little squished.

The key is at an angle (slanting away from you), that’s why it looks short.

Yeah, Malachi, the RSS icon is already being used for RSS. I’m fine with re-using it – that’s just a choice you’d have to make.

Yeah, that was kind of a placeholder; I didn’t know what to do for it, and wanted to get done more quickly. I’ll make another when I get time.

Maybe if you used the scion toolbox icon from kong labs?

Wow, Malachi, those are great. The icons look amazing. These represent a huge step towards really finalizing the theme, and hopefully getting it to look something like your ‘rough’ preview.

There we are… Full ‘Options’ icons!

The new window button is also random.

Why? It isn’t random at all; the blank badge looks like a window, and the plus is self-explanatory…

The bookmarks looks more like a new window button

It’s a book…

But of course, I do agree that some original ones would look a bit nicer (And some of the current buttons are a bit confusing). However, the idea of taking images from Kongregate games is still a good concept. Perhaps you could keep these images and release different versions?

Okay, but it would look a lot nicer if you only put a gradient on the menu bar, because multiple gradients just make the theme look less streamlined. Also, I’m pretty sure all you need is a one pixel vertical strip…

Well, I need to get some real work done, so I’ll just post what I’ve done so far and do the rest later (probably not tomorrow).

Main, Tabs, Privacy, Feeds. Now that I’m doing everything 3d for the options, however, I’ll make the gear like the others.

EDIT: Wait, so if we’re going for Firefox 3, will you even need the feeds icon (Firefox 2 has it, 3 has ‘Applications’ instead)?

EDIT: By the way, the preview icon we’re using right now is 45×45 and needs to be 32×32. Looks terrible when Firefox tries to do it, so, can anyone fix that up?

Badges on top of badges would just look… Bad. And way overcrowded. Anyway, our background is going to be Kong Gray.

Which one do you think it’s better?

I’d have to say the little one you made looks better, and you could fit more into the border. Maybe we could use the badge circle somewhere else?

Anyway, I’ve started making the icons for the ‘options’ window. Here’s the one for ‘Main’ that I just finished:

I’m not too crazy about this icon, though. If anyone has any other ideas for this icon that could more easily fit into 32×32, please say so.

I stress again that this is NOT compatible with FF3.

There are LOTS of graphics. And I just did the main part. There are many other stuff that could be done, like the arrow for the drop-down menus, the icons for the help section, the addons section, the download window, the star for site ratings (could use the same graphics as kongregate star ratings), and much more.

Yeah, there is a lot more to get done; we’re no where close to being finished. I’ll help as much as I can.

Anyway, I thought that these icons for a new tab and window would be more intuitive than the current ones:

Also, most of the icons we have thus far are not the best quality. Aidan, I’d suggest that, instead of resizing badge images, you cut off 8 pixels from each side and merge them together. Like this:

EDIT: Oh, looking… good? Heh. Anyway, Federalist, should I continue making the backgrounds of icons the Kong gray color, or make it transparent (it would lose some quality this way)?

EDIT2: Oops, thought it was 36×36 for some reason… take 12 off each side then.

Exchanging the dollar for a more stable currency or material would be a good idea right now, but everything else you’re saying is taking it a little far, especially the gun stuff. It sounds like you think this will be a zombie apocalypse, rather than an economic breakdown.

Oh man, Palin won this debate, even the Democratically biased news networks.

Where are you getting this from? From what I’ve been seeing, and what I saw, most people are fairly certain that Biden won this debate. The poll taken from those who watched the debate there was something like 50% to 40%, Biden favored.

In my opinion, Palin looked really uncomfortable on the foreign policy issues. On questions that were out of her comfort zone, she often went back to the energy debate, which had already been discussed, as well as tax cuts (which Biden had to remind her twice that McCain voted for the same bill, and that Obama would cut taxes for the middle class, not McCain). She was also unable to set herself and McCain away from the Bush policies that we have all grown to despise.

Well, obviously Obama’s democratic policies are much different that Bush and McCain’s. If you haven’t been paying attention for the past eight years, our country hasn’t been doing well under the Bush administration.

Now, I challenge you with Bidens statement
“[Quote]The people know who I am, they can look at my record. I have not changed in 35 years”

If he wanted to bring the same change 35 years ago, how does this matter?
