If you make an effort to read all of the content, it’s piss easy.

Memorizing everything isn’t even needed. If you remember the trends of what was going on in each significant time period, you can make “educated guesses” on most of the questions on multiple choice tests and get a lot of them right.

Essays are complete jokes.

Play easier maps. There are a ton of StepMania levels with different difficulties, just look for them.
If you want to get better, practice. In my opinion, Touhou’s one of the easier Japanese shmups out there, and Project Diva’s too casual, but that’s just me.

Touhous 1, 3, and 9 have different play styles from a more traditional bullet hell as well. Touhou 1 resembles more of a Breakout kind of game than a bullet hell, and 3 and 9 are dual screen PvP bullet hells.

I still can’t wait for Hopeless Masquerade to be released nonetheless. I thought that, like ES, ZUN could have done more, but it’s only a small clip of an unreleased game.
