If you want to do Philosophy, do it.

It’s like learning Latin. It’s pretty much an academic choice which will have no benefit to mankind and you won’t find any jobs directly related to it, but it’s still useful. Philosophy doesn’t teach you what to think, but how to think. On its own it’s pretty much pointless, but combined with other degrees, it could be very useful. It’ll help you grasp some of the complex ideas you may encounter in other fields.

I walked out of a store with a few CD’s once. They had security out front, yet I was still able to walk out the store without them noticing, even though I was carrying them in my bare hands.
