I Hear Christmas A-Comin’:

Well I’m going to take this one because how can you go wrong with Twisted Sister?…

Twisted Christmas – A Twisted Review‽

So how did this possibly end up on such a list? I question the article authors’ sense of musical taste, as I’m sure another Christmas Album could easily have replaced this. (Under the Mistletoe, anyone?) This is an album that is a bit out of place for Twisted Sister at first, so maybe that’s why it got a place here for the oddity of it all. Also, it is not quite as Twisted as I would have expected. I’d much rather listen to Stay Hungry, but I don’t have a choice in terms of this review.

As overdone as Christmas songs are, and as these are pretty much merely metal(ish) covers of traditional christmas songs, I’ll keep this brief. None of the tracks really stand out and give the extra kick it seems to need. I thought the track ‘Heavy Metal Christmas’ was going to be at least slightly entertaining, but really I was rather bored. I’d much rather listen to this instead. As cool as Twisted Sister is, this isn’t their best album, but I don’t know if it would be their worst as I haven’t listened to them all.

Eric could do a much better Metal Xmas than this. Oh wait, He did. Twice Thrice.

As much as it seems like I don’t like this, it was alright. It’s just that this is no Goofy Goober Rock.

So while I agree that this isn’t the best thing ever, I don’t think it deserves to be on the top 50 worst Christmas Albums, but I still give it a 3.5/5 stars. Actually no that’s not right at all. There’s only one star on the tree, so I give it 1 star and 2 ornaments + a broken one.

Goddamit Back, now we’re going for the tie :P So close too :< If only 8-3 on the first life wasn’t so tricky.

Christmas Edition:

Dolphin Olympics 3 (Unity): (I’ll save Submachine for Prec, though I considered it :3)

It’s time for Dolphin Olympics, this time we will be at the Olympic Winter Games! We’ve also taken on the transition from 2d to 3d in this new adventure! Your Dolphin, Delfie, has qualified for the downhill snow surfing event for dolphins. Roll up giant snowballs to knock out the competition in the online multiplayer mode, which also includes a dolphin bot mode. This mode is simply a downhill race a la dildo hills, except it plays more like those first person tree dodger games. Hit as many trick jumps as you can to gain speed to get ahead, but you can also roll up snowballs if you’re falling back in order to try and knock out the competition for a bit. Also yes, watch out for the trees too. Don’t go too fast or you could end up with some bad bruises (and a time penalty!).

Our single player mode features the same two modes as our prior game, but includes a new mode as well. Rather than trying to get as high as you possibly can, the aim in this sequel is to chain together as unique and complex a combo as you can. In single player, the major mode for competitive players is the timed mountain mode. Here is where you can choose between small, medium, and large mountains, taking 1,2, and 3 minutes of time respectively. The goal here is simply to go as fast as you can, as the mountain won’t end until time runs out. So go as fast as you possibly can, as it will give you more points, and try to get through as many hoops and chain together as many tricks as porpoiseful.

The second single player mode, also a returning mode, is the free board mode. Pretty self-explanatory, you get to just play to your heart’s content, racking up a huge score, shown on a separate leaderboard than the timed modes of course.

Our third and final single player mode is the campaign. This is where the player must get through different challenges and levels, while purchasing different upgrades which are not necessary for completion of the levels, but make the game much more interesting. The goal in these levels is mission oriented, and is always made sure that the player has to complete the mission before reaching the bottom of the mountain. It could be for taking out X number of opponent dolphins, or for getting through enough rings, or even for hitting a certain score! Upon completion of the final boss level (it’s a surprise!), the player can keep playing random missions to earn currency to buy different tricks and costumes and more for the other modes, and maybe even another extra mode!

There’s also tons of in-game achievements to earn, something that was really lacking in the prior releases :P

This is all Christmas themed btw, not just winter as it sounds :P

The Beacon of Brightness:

It all began on the night of December 1st, 1600. It was a rainy Scottish night, but that did not seem to bother anyone. Everyone was off doing their typical daily activities. This legend does not focus on all those people though, but Robert Stevenson the First. Let us call him RS Mk1 for short, shall we? I forgot to mention he was a robot, but I’m sure that is not very surprising considering most of us are anyways. Anyways, RS Mk1, no relation to RS Classic, was sitting in his dank chamber one lonely night when he had an idea. The idea came to him like a shock spell, entrancing him in a soothing aura. That was when he decided that he would become the light of the night! Well, not himself, as he was not a physically bright young robot.

It was his dream to become an Engineer and Architect. Rather than doing standard training and the like, RS Mk1 decided to opt for the hide in a dungeon and construct apparatuses where no one could find them approach to being an engineer. RS Mk1 worked on one major project, The Midnight Beacon. While he worked on that, he kept himself busy designing other ingenious tools used widely across the world even now, such as the calculator and the steamboat. This helped him have the funds to continue a life of solid craftsmanship until he could finish his master work.

Despite being a recluse, he did have quite a few connections, or so it has been told. He had a beautiful wife with whom he had a strange relationship with. She lived with him, and they had many children. Automated, robotic, children. They all lived in a more humble, warm part of the residence, whereas RS Mk1 spent all his day down in the cold basement-like area.

Once RS Mk1 had completed his Lighthouse design, it became his Magnum Opus. It was said that he moved out of his little dungeoness cave hidden in the hillsides to go live in his lighthouse after it was completed. It was then when he decided to take leave of everyone, which meant his family for the most part. He kept control of The Midnight Lighthouse for a few years, allowing boats to always know where it was, as it shone with a tone of deep red. He never did come out of the lighthouse to greet anyone…

All that we have left is the word of Mk1’s eldest grandson (which is held in fairly high regard), named RS Mk2 after his grandfather. It is said that no one ever saw RS Mk1 alive ever again after that fated night. When Mk2 went to go check on his father years after, there was no one there, except for his father’s old rusted hat, still attached to his head.

To this day however, ships looking for a place to land often catch a glimpse of the Midnight Flame burning bright, even with no operator to maintain it. When approaching closer, is it rumored that they can sometimes see a ghost of a man standing on his head, balancing on the very tip of the lighthouse. As the boats approach nearer and nearer, the entire structure begins to fade away, but the light still shines on through the night.

[Yeah this has tons of holes in it as I tend to jump all over the place and was switching between fantasy and factual elements quite a bit] [For example: Robert Stephenson was a prominent engineer, he did also have a grandson well versed in storytelling. I’m sure you can find out who :3 Plus the engineering feats did happen between the 1600-1800 time period, though they were not credit to RS.] Oh man I probably should draft these first or something~

Not bad, if I do say so myself :D I think I’ll add this one to the OT tree as well, unless you wish me not. (Because you might not want Finland represented on OT, so I’ll wait)

So I thought I’d use Space is Key Hell on Kong as verification of my first lame attempt. Will be going for the 0, so stay away Preccy! ;) I will try to get 0 even if I have to play it all week :(
