First time I’ve seen this one. Logged onto game for the first time of the day, combat log shows successful attack less than an hour before (~4 PM EST, 5/10) and my town has no protection.

Unsure whether this is a bug or lag, but I have never seen it before this last update. Trumpet will occasionally “miss” troops clearly within the area of effect. We’re not talking a run through use that could be easily dismissed to lag. These instances were when troops were dropped and trumpet used almost immediately. Cooldown was triggered, but no buff was applied, and clearly it’s not just a visual issue since the nearest buildings would have melted if the trinket was effective and instead took several volleys of ranger fire to be destroyed.

You can attack it once they’re done. Basically, it’s like a busy signal and you have to keep trying your call. Once you get on, better spend all the attacks you plan to use in a row because once you miss the window, it’s just “beep beep beep” again.

The simplest tip is to take note of layouts that you find particularly annoying to attack. Try to find the common themes between these and borrow aspects you find most to your liking. No single layout is perfect. All have strengths and weaknesses and a lot of it depends on what you want from the layout, whether you want something you can defend well while you’re online, how persnickety you are about symmetry, etc.

Scouts and attacks on hometown continue to go unreported and it’s disheartening to come back to a half-destroyed base when you know you could have easily beaten back the attacker if you had caught them at the start.

It’s very synth-metal now. Reminds me very strongly of music you’d expect to find on an early-80s upright arcade console. Probably best for a vertical-scrolling shooter.

New Keris bugs:

>The sound effect of Rupture has been altered. It now sounds like the original sound at a higher frequency and resembles a blade being lightly dragged over a brushed steel surface. Could be working as intended, but I kind of hope not; sounds terrible.

>Throwing Blades will activate the first time during any given fight and will not work at any point later in the encounter. Pushing the button with the mouse or using the keyboard will result in the global cooldown being triggered, but no mana will be spent, and the skill will not activate.

>Keris will continue attacking the spot where a destroyed building existed and will not move to a new target upon click. This can be cancelled by clicking a non-target area on the map and then re-clicking a target. Am not able to reproduce this reliably, but have seen it at least 5 times already.

EDIT: Reproduced reliably. Attempting to use Throwing Blades (successfully the first time after a refresh or not) will cause Keris to lock onto the targeted building even after it is destroyed. This can be cancelled as above. I suspect this is some throwback to the way Throwing Blades used to be targeted.

btw, love the new Guulak music.

Distances may look longer because of the foreshortening of the screen. Consider the radii of your tower defenses for the easiest conceptualization of this. Aside from that, only two units currently have a priority beyond closest building, so town layout and attack spawning are a big deal.

Excellent idea. Design mode with a nice grid. No changes until you complete and save? Avoids the awkwardness of being half-finished. Would be a great benefit with our growing layouts.

Edit: toss it in the Suggestions thread as well to ensure Rud/Syn see it.
