Suddenly me coming in:

In the Mystery Dungeon games, Pikachu though not a base level, is a starter.

Also from the above game’s starting allowed:

Meowth, Machop, Cubone, Psyduck, Skitty, Munchlax, Phanpy, Vulpix, Riolu and Shinx.

So I can understand if you’re considering just taking the Mario Bros. movie approach to it. (THAT NEVER HAPPENED)

[Story dead ends suck.]

Lanarus

So, with an uncomprehending sense of time, Lanarus progressed. Though it never meant anything, as always. Since his fortune had gone right, he did at least know he was back in Illinois territory, somewhere. In other words, familiar ground. He only took slight notice of his position though. After all, he could almost be drifting into losing conscious thought, minus his own thinking in deliberately confusing words.

If one doesn’t look at a concept, does it exist? Can nothing be real?

[It’s official. I need something to do. But have no way to establish much of an overarching plot. Shit.]

Lanarus

They say when you don’t pay attention to it, you lose track of time. Turns out actually, if you don’t pay attention to time, it loses track of you. He walked endlessly, found someplace to sleep when tired, found something to eat when hungry. Every day was just that. Day. He never could remember nights, because he spent too much time within the quiet of his mind. He never kept direction, so no matter where he went, all of it just passed by. He didn’t even bother to look for anyone else on the off path. They didn’t want anything to do with him, so the feeling was mutual. Nothing changed, and for all it was worth to him, it never had to.

[Sorry I haven’t been posting more. But after all, no hurry or anything, amirite?]

Lanarus

In the end, Lanarus found solace. In himself, as always was. His mind was his entertainer, as only more complex of ideas were thought up. They were more fun to think of, and all the more satisfying when added to the pile of how many he created. Right now he was peacefully strafing a pond, looking at the water as he walked, down at all the simple beings.

Nothing simple exists, though, for everything is titan in the land of turbulence. His thoughts contradicted. Sighing longingly at his own taking of the piss, he cast his gaze to the sky. Nothing caught his eye there, so he cast it again to the ground. Long ago had he lost his way, but that was normal. He’d been lost his entire life when he wandered, and it suited him.

Never a light, never a moon for he etched in the outside forever.

Lanarus

Another few days, or another few hours, it never mattered when he was alone. Mutants in the off lands away from cities were more in number, but he gave them no mind, they were figures as empty as he. None had purpose, no lasting goal other than primal life.

No order outside of nature made by entropy. He thought. With no interest in direction or time, his mind went on override wandering no different than he. So much time to find an answer that he can’t find any reason to think exists.

Then why exist? He had to question. Suddenly aware of how tired he was, Lanarus sat down overlooking a body of water. He could die there, just go out and let the vicious mutants remove him from his struggles. But he can’t, yet, at least.

The easy way out cannot be the right way out.

[I’ll sneak one in, then]

Lanarus

Time passed, but time doesn’t always heal all wounds. His bullet wound is better, but that hasn’t bothered him in a while. He went back to the way he was, wandering the states without purpose or intention. Uncaring for direction or speed. Some of his rage at the ever reoccurring thought of Ryan could easily be relieved by hunting, especially against the mutated wild. Of course, he avoided cities as much as ever, having no need to be around the dangers of crowded environments filled with hostility. So it was that he would read the withered signs, turn and keep going. There was no change from before, except for one thing. That one thing he couldn’t figure out that was nagging him, breaking the peaceful monotony. He had to figure that out at some point, but after all.

No hurry.

[Well fuck me then. I suppose that’s what I get for caring about my schoolwork >.> Anyways Gambi, it’s hard to try and stumble across anything here. Especially since we kinda have to go into stealth override. It is too late now though. ABANDON SHIIIIIP.]

Lanarus

He finally awoke. Stared about, the silence almost killing him. Unable to bear it, Lanarus had to check around. There was no sound. No Ryan. It was all gone. With no aid, and so little of a clue, it seemed to be the time for leave. As he backtracked his way out, he only half cared if he was seen, though in the dead of night he felt safe. As the only thing to sense was the sound of footsteps as they plodded the way out, he had to wonder.

Did he leave without telling me?
He wouldn’t do that. Not here.
Did he leave me?
More or less.
But I gave him the choice to let us leave!
Betrayed again. Fuck trust.

He popped out, leaving without a second chance. To where, he couldn’t care. Again. It could be more dangerous this time around since he had been out of the natural world so long, but that didn’t matter. To be left alone. That was more important. Stopping to brush his leg, he covered the wound the bullet that had brought him and Ryan together with fur. There would be no need for reminders.

There have to be more survivor rooms! There are fifty+ mice in each of them, with text flowing so fast you can’t read it and crowds so massive you can’t tell if you’re getting cannoned.

[With school, I have almost no time. I’m making do with nights, at least.]

Lanarus

Walking, if only on a more dangerous path in the most dangerous city in the world for him held a solemn perfection. The peace, quiet, simplicity, and time to think. After he completed as far as he could reach from the rooftops, all he did was pace to think.

On one hand, if they went heavy and started using force to find what they were looking for, they might not both make it with the high risk of it. On the other, they could fail to come across the right info and end up getting caught anyways. No matter what they did, it seemed either only one or none of them might live through this. It wasn’t so bad considering if he might die, but going without Ryan… It was unthinkable, suddenly. They barely had known each other, but he was invaluable. A perfect partner, a wonderful friend. Could he ever give that up, even to kill the head of the NUO?

Finally getting back to the apartment, Lanarus filed into the room.

“Nothing.” Was all he had to report. He still wanted more time to think before he made any serious conversation. Though there wasn’t much to say anyways. He rolled onto the ground, staring up at the ceiling for a little while before tying to drift off.

Bots aren’t supported by the Game developers

True, but Baffler owns baffbot, and he’s close enough. Anyways, Holzinatwo owns survivor, so I’d think that’d be the same.

Therefore the bot creators might have to start supporting several rooms, and more stuff!

I mean, at least I HOPE they separate. I hate those Brazilian script kiddie buttholes. * Not racist *

Hopefully survivor and tribewar will also be seperated..

EDIT:

Yay, at least we all get to separate willingly!

[Post now.]

Lanarus

Awoken by his partner’s – odd how he felt so strongly to use that word so easily – words, he felt a bit sorry. He hadn’t been sick in a while. So taking Ryan through storms and the outdoors so heavily could be simple for him, but he didn’t know about Ryan. It left a bitter, guilty feeling like he might as well have been the cold.

“I’ll…explore around. See if I can find who we kill to end this.” He hastily excuses himself, unable to keep looking at Ryan without regrets pounding at his conscience. Lanarus scooted away uneasily, finally escaping out to the safe dark of New York. Keeping low, and due to his size that almost made him invisible, every step showing more of the massive city. Now then, if only this were as easy as finding the target.

[Bad News Everyone though. I leave for another week Wednesday. A day after that, the eleventh, I go back to school. So my time will be put on a chopping block once more.]

Lanarus

He checked the small makeshift table. They still had several loaves of multiple breads. Plenty. He smiled as Ryan talked about raining, a heavy rumble rolling across, sounding already nearby…

Though he lifted his hand to show his spike scratching the floor to imitate the sound of a storm brewing. “Maybe not, so we wait. Rain may take a while, but we can last longer.” He noted audibly on their food supply.

“So, eh, go back to whatever you were thinking about then.” He finally realized what his partner had been doing. Come to think of it, that was what had been drawing on his mind. Though there wasn’t time for that. There could never be time for it, so long as it was only a thought. Finally frustrated, he decided to try and get some sleep.

[Back all! Hooray!]

Lanarus

Finally coming about it to get up from where he had been sitting, pacing, staring away for several days, Lanarus spoke.

“I have a plan. If we cannot sneak into finding the leader, we can use force.” He announced. He took a deep breath, and began to explain.

“The local NUO units may not be valuable to us in any way, except for information. We may have to kidnap one and get him or her to tell us where we can find the target. I’ve been planning it for days now. We wait in ambush on top of this building”. He stops to point out the window.

“Eventually, one has to come by. When they do, we strike. It doesn’t matter how many, we just need one, and make sure the rest either cannot follow or don’t have the knowledge of where to look. We take our captive into the sewer we came through. Oh, forgot to mention, we have to wait for a storm. Once down there, with all three of us muffled under the rain, and hopefully thunder, we can extract what we need.” He waited, silently seeking some form of approval for all his time that he spent feeling slightly guilty for not aiding Ryan in his efforts lately. He really did need to do that more, since they might not have much longer after this…

[Last post. I’ll be gone for a week. So yeah, Ebil, you’re in charge. Gambi, no stabby.]

Lanarus

His ears perked up to Ryan suggesting leaving. He had an immediate tear of instinctual rage of retreat and a slight cowardice of low ally morale. Gathering his wits, he managed to make a neutral statement.

“We haven’t done anything here yet. Even if we don’t succeed in our main goal, we have to at least accomplish something.” He said, voice quavering with conflicting emotions. “Though we’re still far. We don’t know where to look, how tough to kill it will be, or if we may get picked off just planning any of these things!”

Taking a particularly large bite to avoid speaking, Lanarus contemplated his thoughts. On one hand, if he just told Ryan they could go, slowly build a resistance from there, both of them would certainly make it out. On the other, if the just waited, they could cut all the time by taking out the root of the problem. At last coming to a conclusion, he swallowed and spoke to Ryan.

“I’ve been making most of the choices so far, but now it’s both of our lives on the line. You can decide if we should go and figure something out.”

“Actually, there are any number of ways. This city is a maze, so if things get dicey, we can double around and back to the storm drain.” He announced, checking out the window as if to make sure it was still there.

“The wall isn’t much of an option, as it will still be guarded at all times so we’d have to be fast enough-…”

He deserves to know. Finally rang out in his head.

“Look, we had to run because I felt something. I tried to get into this city almost a month or two back. I was stopped by a mutant under the NUO, and I was almost killed. He’s still here, and I regret to think of us fighting on his turf.” Lanarus cut into his own sentence, pausing to take a bite of bread.

“I dongh know ih thih will-” He stops to swallow. “I don’t know if this will effect our attack, but I’ll warn you if I pick him up again.” He finished this time.

[My life is busy Ebil. My apologies. Mom’s birthday.]

Lanarus

Lanarus noted with a grin Ryan’s extreme happiness at all the doughy goods. He took as much as he could hold, then spearing a couple more on his spikes. Walking out the door without a word, his end of his nose twitched. A suddenly familiar feel had entered the area. He gasped as the shock of aura recognition hit him. “Run back to base.” He said, almost out of breath. He ran, holding onto the goods as well as he could as he did so. Every quickened step, each hastened pace took it further away, and after half a minute he felt safe enough to slow. Wordlessly, he slipped back into their apartment base. He climbed the stairs with no breath, trying as hard as he could to be quiet but also fast.

Reaching their room, he created a place to place the bread by improvising some broken wall that had yet to be cleared from their old hiding spot a few floors down. He bit his lip as he tried to think of the words to say to Ryan.

Maybe it’s better not to say.

If I don’t, he’ll ask anyways, that was sudden and random without knowing.

But how do you explain a threat like that without inspiring panic? He had this internal struggle, staring down at the floor.

[Have your croissants if you’d like.]

He kept behind, following his comrade as he slunk through the night, tracing carefully Ryan’s movements. At last he stopped, speaking up to him.

“Why do I need another trick.” He began, holding up a hand as he dropped down from the roof. “When I have one already laid out.” He completed, swing it lightly, and a loud click could be heard from the other side.

“Of course, if there are any alarms, just unlocking the doors won’t help us. Now come on, let’s get some supplies and go.” He said, gently opening the door to avoid any noise making. Lanarus beckoned to Ryan to follow behind him, slipping into the darkness within.

If he had eyebrows visible on his face, Lanarus would have raised them. Instead, he raised an eye.

“We aren’t staying that long, don’t bother.” He blurted out. He indicated to the widow with a nod of his head.

“Night is here, and it gets pretty dark. We can just run in, take what we need. Barbaric, yes, but we don’t have time for you to go find work in this damned place. Of course, I can help with this. Just so long as we remain undetected, I can sneak us in without a hitch.” He offered, moving on. He opened the window, looking over at Ryan.

“You lead on, I’ll follow you there.”

Ah, time alone. If only for a second to ponder. He couldn’t help but think. Which was all he did. Either about Ryan and his future, or the best way to switch from the archway to the sewer out. Or maybe the arch to the lower room, then out the back…Well, there were at least options.

He turned around as soon as he head Ryan come back in. Listening carefully, he took a second before speaking.

“What’s up is that we have a good chance of being followed, if you smell it right. That, and there are a thousand ways we can escape, so with the bakery news, this looks good. Any sign of the target?”

[I feel an awkward moment where Lan and Alex see each other again. Best not worry about that until later.]

Lanarus

“Then can you just go?” He asked, more forcefully this time. “I can’t go walking about, so I can’t really do any searching.” He brought up again. He moved over to a bathroom looking area and began to tap the walls. They were sturdy, but could be torn down in case of emergency. He moved on to check every other otherwise solid surface for weakness, then moved to the floor. It was almost as solid as metal, other than in the corners. The ceiling was softer here, only because they were closer to the roof. Going back to the small grimy window, he busily began to put all the pieces together for a danger moment.

[I do, but by the way: Starting later this weekend, I leave for vacation. Then again the day I get back. Therefore, let’s try to get to a point better suited for such activities.]

Lanarus

“I…feel it is only this bad for us.” He darkly replies. He notes his anger, and takes a deep breath, rubbing his head with his palms.

“You can walk the streets without danger. While you do that, I’ll look into a way out.” He suggested, already contemplating using the same route out that they used to get in. Ending with a ‘possible’ rating, he finally noticed why Ryan was upset.

“You can go get them.” He advised, staring through the floor. “It hasn’t yet been checked. Though make it fast, it won’t be very long.” With that, he moved to the new window, far higher up the ground from the last. He could see over the top of the fancier building next to theirs. It appeared to be a museum, therefore probably useless for any plans. He continued to look about the city, taking every landmark to heart for an escape way.
