Also, I see people complaining about the uselessness of the Bowgun. I felt similarly until I got my first Lvl. Auto Fire or Fire Rate mod (or both) and had high Bow master for penetration, then I saw the power of a fast firing bowgun. Hits multiple targets and hits big targets multiple times a lot with fast firing rate. Hard to beat really. Don’t take their complaints seriously. Anyone who says Hunter is terrible choice is either not skilled enough to use Bowgun well early on and max it out with some mods and Reforging or prefers the basic easymode of the Sheriff. I’m saying that because I felt the same way. Sheriff is easy mode, you are the crowd controller instead of damage dealer. With hunter, you can’t just fire at every target. Like you said, Rogue is for filling in the gaps. It’s pointless to take your aim off of 5+ enemies lined up in the field just to kill a Barbarian or mouse at the wall when you’ve got a teammate with a shotty and an automatic laser designated for that. Using a Hunter takes some getting used to, at least it did for me. It’s not inaccurate, and auto fire in no way hurts the gun or accuracy. Anyway, my point is, your guide is great, don’t listen to idiots who don’t know what they’re talking about, and understand that people will probably continue to be idiots because they don’t know how to learn and adapt. Plus, I realize this guide is very old, so you and no one else will probably ever see this. But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Your guide is excellent. After reading the Random Crapes section, I’d like to tell you what I made it to 100 with/without.
-Only a 3-slot bow, no Lvl. 3 Auto Fire mod until nearly Day 40. At Day 50 I still only had a Mk-4 Bow with Lvl. 3 Auto and Fire Rate, 3rd mod slot empty.
-Dismissed 5 Rogues in total and 2 Sheriffs, most after each had developed a good number of skills and all before around Day 60 or so. My final Sheriff I picked up around Day 57 and it took him until Day 66 to even learn Defender, and Leadership wasn’t maxed until after 70. Didn’t get a decent Rogue until right at Day 50 or so, and until that point I struggled through every day, nearly having to resort to henchman. 5th Rogue finally had Active, Threat, and Negotiator, but no good individual skills, and I struggled to level her up at all, meaning she was stuck with her default pistol for far too long before I could equip her with a better small gun. By Day 82, she finally maxed Active, and Threat was at 5, Negotiator – 7.
-Thankfully I got Militia very early, before Day 5 or so, so I had his Big Gun leveled up decently quick and he was able to use it before even 20. He learned only one party skill before Day 50 had passed: useless Taunt. Militia was a lifesaver, but both he and my Sheriff took way too long to learn Reloading. Militia didn’t learn it until somewhere in either late 30s or early 40s, and Sheriff didn’t learn Reloading until around Day 70 – he didn’t even get it to 10 until after Day 100.
-I struggled a lot with lack of finding or recycling good mods and never finding a 4 slot bow at all. My starting bow was only 1 slot, and despite your advice to start over and over until you get lucky enough for 4 slot bow, I played it through and made it all the way to 100 with only 3 slot and Mk-5 or lower the whole time.
-At one point, I think between the 30-60 Days, I was going negative each day with wages and taxes due to no Rogue and therefore no Negotiator. I also invested more into Museum than you said, and bought nearly 60 chickens, which was a very slow upgrade for both, given that the only good thing I had going during most of those Days was my militia. In the long run, the higher investment in both paid off.
-I didn’t get Villa above 20% damage bonus until sometime in the late 40s, but once my Rogue finally got a decent Active skill, I whored it like you said, and from Day 60 and on, I barely had to do anything but hold the trigger and aim at one spot (I play with my laptop touchpad, by the way, so it took me long enough to get to 100 without faster aiming a mouse affords).

Anyway, I appreciate the tips. Your guide is very helpful, although sometimes I think a decent Guardian with good party skills could replace a Rogue and Noble – with damage bonus per level as class skill and ability to gain extra exp. per kill – could substitute for Militia, given that players want to sacrifice a few skill slots for Noble’s default all weapons skills and Militia’s grenade throw, which becomes almost obsolete once you find a Gravity Gun.

Been playing this game since the year it came out, and I’ve finally invested the time to get the Impossible badge, in large part thanks to your guide. A lot of it is of course trial and error, and after making it over 200 in regular, plus trying (and failing) probably close to 40 times to get to day 100 does help.
