My suggestion would be to put arrows pointing to the stations on the map and significant objects like the sun/map. Also perhaps put arrows twoards your mission objectives. Yes, this is from another game (Starfighter: Disputed Galaxy), but, I think it would make navigating in your game significantly easier.

Topic: Vorp! / The Vorp! tier list

Yeah, most of these are situational. For instance, a good turbo hawk is way way better than a bad one. So it’s largely skill based in that aspect. Jabber, Ant, Shinobi, and Iron Wolf also all have very high skill pars. If I was to compared skilled players only, this is how I would rate them:

Tier 1: Undu, Clank, TH
Tier 2: Ant, Craw, Hirudo, Dreadnaught
Tier 3: Circe, Squid, Jabberwocky
Tier 4: Wolf, Torpaz, Shinobi, SS Venture
Tier 5: Angelfire

In other words, I expect skilled users of Undu, Clank, and Turbohawk to dominate.

I expect skilled users of angelfire to have a much harder time.

The reason I didn’t put Torpaz lower is because Torpaz can actually be run pretty effectively by a skilled player… he’s just harder to use than Circe most of the time.

A skilled Hirudo is pretty much impossible to kill. That’s why he’s higher on this list. A skilled Dreadnaught deals out so much damage it’s scary.

Jabberwocky is really team dependent. He gets swarmed easily. If he’s not swarmed, he rocks, but if he is, he’s screwed pretty much =/.

sddq_bll, the devs are being kind enough to still continue to pay for the Vorp server. You should thank them for that, not try and prevent their other games from being a success.

Servers cost money. The fact that they are keeping it up while they aren’t making their money back shows that they wish it had been a success (even if it wasn’t). What have they done? They’ve taken the engine, and are trying to make it a success again. Let’s hope it works out for them, not screw them over.

Darth pretty much nailed it. This game will be a lot more people friendly than Vorp was, even if it isn’t quite as fast paced and exciting. It’s a needed shift, and when we want something fast paced and exciting, we can always come back and play this for a few games.

Go to that new game when you have facebook. Own the newbies as hard as possible. Find the best ways to backdoor and show the Players how bad that game can be!

We have spend a lot of $$$ while they already focussed on that new game and they never told us that they stopped supporting Vorp! in the past. WE had to find that out by ourselfs. And i think they have to pay for it!

You weren’t in chat when they talked about moving to a new game Masakarii. But they sure talked about it. Be grateful that they still keep Vorp up and running.

Hupri, the difficulty is that programming AI for the Vorp ships would be really tough, as their playstyles are really unusual. All of the dragons in this game have playstyles which are somewhat similar, allowing AI to be much more easily developed. Still, you’ll see some of your favorite moves =).

Actually, the biggest selling point is that they have Single Player with and against bots, and Co-operative against bots.

Eatin, as far as I know, Ghost Field does not boost the defense of other ships/turrets… just your own =p. On the other hand, dropping it and then ramming the other ship will help protect your turret.

Death Ball… hehe… yeah, that it is. Although I tend to call it Boche Ball or Bowling Ball…. but same sorta thing XD.

Actually, that’s what happened with Starfighter Disputed Galaxy. It was a shame too… dumb hackers did it twice in a row and made the dev drop the game.

Just wanted to let all you guys know about the latest cheater, omnomnom8. He creates alts, and puts them on the other team and starts farming them. Be aware if he is on your team (and kindly let the other team know).

Please voice your displeasure to him. We want to let him know that we don’t enjoy him ruining Vorp.

Did you try a different browser? Also, try clearing your Unity cookies (you’ll have to look online to see how to do this).
