Am i the only one who....
I agree for the most part with GunsNRoses. I mean, I went to a dragonforce concert and I know half the kids there only went so they could “hear the TTFATF solo in person”. Yes, I actually heard a kid say that… The idea of people only liking a band because of one song or they played one song of theirs in a video game is just stupid.
However, music games are a great way of introducing people to bands that they didn’t think they would like. I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE rockband player and I love playing songs by people I’ve never heard. If I don’t even buy the songs, I still get a chance to listen to the Artists they make their DLC for. I mean, if someone hears a song from a band generally likes it, so they go on and research more songs by the artist and like them as well; whats wrong with that? I mean, the band achieved a fan through a non-traditional way but it’s still a fan none-the-less.
Overall, I agree that you aren’t a fan if you just listen to a band through a video game but if you actually download multiple songs of the same artist and like them as well, then it doesn’t really matter where you first heard about the band. In other words, your not a fan until you’ve truly listened to the band, not just one popular song.

Hello...
I rather like this thread. It shows the changing tide in a totalitarian society and the social struggles some selected few have to overcome to achieve the goal their allies strive for in creating a world without evil, where one man can walk down the street and not become a headcrab that is controlled by a brainwashing cult of a government.

Rock Band 2 song awards
Yeah, Visions has grown on me too. When I first heard it, I was like UGHHH. Now I love the middle part for drums, though I can’t pass it. It’s just fun to play in no fail mode or whatever. I dont know how you can’t love Peace Sells. It’s a classic! I don’t know, do you not like Megadeth in general?
Anyway, I use a PS3 so in the beginning our guitars had really bad strummers in RB1 which would collect dust in between the switches in the stummer so it would block the connect and stop working. With RB2, they modified the strummer’s switches and made them more protected so that problem no longer exists. My drums have broken a lot though mainly because I hit them to hard. I broke my foot pedal probably 4 times, fixed it by reinforcing it all with metal. On my old RB1 pads, I actually broke one due to me hitting it to hard. On my Rb2 pads, they are all started to bubble due to the rubber stretching out. My red pad is actually coming off because the stretching is so bad. I have a lot of DLC but not to many full albums. I have all of Judas Priest and Rush but I those are the only two full albums I got. The rest are just songs that I picked up that I enjoy playing. I might buy Chinese Democracy though. Anyway, if you have a PS3 and DLC add me at Laser-Light.

Rock Band 2 song awards
Meh, all of these are DLC songs.
Worst Song: Sponge bob songs. I mean, cmon… Unless your my brother, these songs are a pain to sing and especially to hear.
Toughest on Drums: I’d probably say They’re Red Hot. Fast rolls with weird foot beats. I can never get it. I’ve beaten both panic attack and Prequel to the Sequel but this one I dont think I ever will.
Toughest on Guitar: Caprici Di Diablo for sure! I mean, cmon. Thats one of the hardest songs in any music game. It took me a few tries to get it down.
Toughest on Bass: I really dont know. They all are pretty easy compared to guitar. I’d probably say Vision just because its so similar to guitar.
Toughest on Vocals: Sponge bob is super hard for me just because I can’t get that pitch right… Its WAY to high. Any song that requires really low singing I also have troubles with.
Coolest Song: Panic Attack. I love dream theater, always have. This is one of my favorite songs to play on every instrument. The solo I have to concentrate on and the melody I can headbang to, making it an awesome song.
Some other hard songs for guitar that people often overlook are: Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers because its just fast. Better by Guns and Roses, when this was announced, I thought this song was going to be easy but it’s very challenging but fun. Chop Suey, Maybe I just suck at this song but it’s one I can never get. The fast chord to single note rhythm always screws me up.
Anyway, Rockband owns, DLC owns and if you don’t have any Down loadable content, get some because it makes the game 10 times better. Any questions on any of the rockband songs or just want to talk about any of them, just add me as a friend.

gatar hero 4 or rock band
Ok, You are stupid. Seriously, with the statement “I like the songs on gh4 so much better”? WHICH SONGS? the 80 that you get in game and the 40 of DLC that is added on? The three a week that you get on top of that? What about rockbands OVER 500 SONG list already, pumping out ENTIRE ALBUMS every week? Is that not enough? What about the experience of making successful games. Harmonix made guitar hero I and II. They sold the rights to Activision who made III and IV. If you look at the note charts on III and IV, you’ll see that they completely butchered the real life tabs or beats just to make it harder for the user. No, this does not equal fun. Harmonix made guitar hero. They have the experience of making successful music games. Activision bought the rights and decided to pull the good ole “tony Hawk” idea with guitar hero. That is: Pump out as many crappy remakes/other versions (Aerosmith, Metallica, Greatest hits/On tour(debatable)/on tour decades(debatable)/dumb hand held versions/t-shirts/hats/real guitars/real drums). They exploit the game and market it as much as possible until its what tony hawk is today, a completely terrible game. Rockband isnt doing that. They are focusing on just the game and the DLC. They have been doing so ever since GH I. They are the better developer. They are the more experienced developer. And they are not going to screw over the customer with crappy versions and overpriced shit.

Buckethead Vs. DragonForce
I’ve been to both buckethead and Dragonforce live and own all the CD’s of both artists and I can say, as a musician, that buckethead is without a doubt better then dragonforce. He switches his stuff up and is over all more original. Still this is a fail of a thread because buckethead is a solo artist and dragonforce is a band. Therefore, comparing the two is like compairing the guitarist Jimi Hendrix to the band Guns N Roses. Its not even a valid comparison. Talk about Herman Li and Buckethead and then we’ll have a discussion.

I did them all. Some of them were pretty easy. Hardest for me was that one parachute game. That game pissed me off so many times.

DOG EAT DOG
Now that I have the right thread this time… I’ll just paste my original post.
Yeah, this game isn’t very good. It’s just to slow for my taste.
I did beat it after my 5th try or so. Not to hard, just take your time and don’t rush to the edges. That’s a easy way to be killed. What would help is like a guide that shows when you can eat the grey dogs. I started to eat them around 45 or so. If you get that far, you get 200 points for everyone you eat so it’s pretty easy from then on. Good luck guys.

Mac vs. PC
When it comes down to it, PC’s are better at gaming (like paid for games, not flash games) and macs are better at basically everything else. They are easier to customize and in the end, easier to use. To bad that Apple sells them at such a high price… Still, if you are looking for a gaming computer, I wouldn’t recommend a mac. Get a cheap 600 dollar computer with a good processor and memory and then update the graphics card.

Pandemic 2: Comprehensive List of Ridiculousness
Games usually don’t try to be real. When they called it “realistic mode” I’m sure they just thought it was a clever way of saying “This mode will be harder then relaxed”. I’m sure they didn’t really mean, this is how disease will spread and it is 100% accurate in every way. I say it again, it’s a game, it doesn’t need to be 100% realistic to still be fun. You guys can have fun making your list but just realize that free internet games can’t be totally realistic. I’m sure they thrive for fun more then realism anyway. Atleast I hope they do.

Pandemic 2: Comprehensive List of Ridiculousness
It’s a game. Shouldn’t think to hard with games. I’m sure it wasn’t thriving to be realistic. It was meant to be fun and challenging. It can also be frustrating but that’s part of the game. Still, your list is funny. Good work.

What instrument are you best at in rock band?
I play guitar/bass on expert, no problem. Drums on expert besides some of the dLC stuff (such as that one new who song, bah). Singing I mostly do on medium or hard depending if I know the song or not. I can do some on expert but only my favorites.

E3 Discussion
Talk about your favorite or most exciting events that happened at this years E3 event. If you don’t know what E3 is, then your not a true gamer.
My favorite so far was the announcement of the entire Rock Band 2 Set list. 75 master recordings of various artists as well as a couple tracks made by the people of harmonix. It is shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the early holiday season.

Scandanavian Black Metal
I thought Naglfar was Swedish. I might be wrong. Yeah, I don’t really like them that much it’s just the first thing I think of. I don’t have that much Black Metal because I don’t like it very much.

When I hear black metal, I think of Naglfar… Now those guys are a true Scandinavian black metal band. Children of Bodom are really good but they are melodic which is my favorite form of more intense metal.

Nothing is wrong with us, we just don’t care for those bands as much as you do. I never listened to “see all that remains” and RatM only has a few songs I like.

I would if all their songs didn’t sound so similar. They aren’t bad if you like how they sound. I liked them for a while and can listen to their stuff but after a while it just gets annoying.

I agree with most things you say but I would definitely classify SOAD and Lamb of God as some form of Metal. Both are some form of metal as either Alternative or Grind or whatever. I don’t see how they aren’t. Care to explain?

TerrotKovenant, Isn’t there sub-genres of metal though? So even though Lamb of God is considered metalcore, it is still in the genre of metal. That’s how I always thought of it. The bands you listed are just more Death Metal then the ones you listed as not. I agree with you saying that Korn, Motley Crue, Bullet for my Valentine, and Guns and Roses are not metal at all though. Basically, what is the classification between metal and rock in your opinion?

have you experienced good or bad karma?
Unproductive, If my car wasn’t there, she would have been fine. It really wasn’t my fault but it did set up my failure in the end.
Yeah, truly, karma doesn’t exist. Coincidences do however.
