Topic: Ballistic / new game mode idea: Randomness

the idea of augments mode made me think of modifier to the game that would not depend on skills and therefore could be added independently from it.
I came up with a few modifiers that would randomly be chosen on match start in this mode, one of each type would be applied and rarely Supermode is activated to replace them:
this is such big change there would need to be a separate button for it, like play Normal, play Augments and play Randomness.

weapon mods:
Blasted: plasma weapons with laser trails and modified sounds, impacts leave scorch marks, not holes
Ballistix: bullets take time to travel and have tracers, they can go through multiple enemies on overkill and can ricochet one time
Knifinity: knives have infinite range
Dat Force: all damage pushes the player away, depending on their max health and armor(if bought) divided by the damage dealt(aka the onscreen damage hit indication).
Wounding: every bullet impact that doesn’t kill you drains your health -1/s, every knife hit -3/s, lasts to death or healing at station
Pistolero: you can only use secondaries or melee

player mods:
Illuminatus:players with more kills than 5 increasingly emit sound and glow illuminating the area around them with the team color to be spotted easier and make up for their deadly potential
Cyborg: infinite stamina
OxyMoron: players always have wrong model to their real class, cannot see real class in the HUD
Lead Boots: nobody can jump ever, everybody can fall
External Feed: all the ammo fits in one magazine
Rollerskates: you will slide instead of stopping, IE your momentum is harder to stop, max run speed x1.5

graphical mods:
Monochromate:randomly makes one of either red or green or blue brighter, then averages the colors for monotone effect
Death tunnel: corners of the screen go black inversely proportional to health left, this increases damage
Rageneration: the more you are hurt the faster you run and the faster your armor and health regenerate, corners tint green in proportion(replaces red)
Occular: no HUD and no crosshairs, lasers or scoping either, only scoreboard can be displayed
Orwellian: the winning or equal team can see all enemies in their HUD
Photon Torpedo: grenade damage range is visibly colored.

Supermode(replaces all the above, chance 1 in 7): all the starter skills apply to everyone and all 3 end skills ativate for your class.

I am good with having 2 brackets as long as this is temporary and we can have a high level later when there’s enough level 21+ players to fill matches. I would find it really weird if buying a tier 4 weapons will cost anything above 2X the class cost, I expect the class price to be 10K and the T4 would be ok with 20K since with cheaper classes you will have a lot more cash to use where you want. and it is really restrictive if only the hardcore all-day people afford multiple T4 guns for any class. Actually having a preview would be very useful in resolving this cuz otherwise you have to rely on the opinion of the hardcore players. Contract Wars hasn’t been able to implement it in its quite long existence, and being made primarily for Russia is no excuse.

ping limit should at least be optional, players who want or can use tigh ping limit should set it in options and get only in ping limited matches, everyone else gets either limited or unlimited match.

the current state is a halfway hybrid that only lets me post really fast and then it disappears really fast. make your decision, do you want passive post game chat or active until everybody proceeds to next screen? I don’t think many people like it as it is, if you don’t care don’t post. I am a big fan of fadeouts so the real chat shoudl fade out possibly in alst 10 seconds of game in the first variant. In fact I dislike integer-based skill mechanics of gaining skills because that makes it purchasing instead of learning, but its the trend nowadays.

anybody watched the episode of Extra Credits on F2P done right? i think this game needs a social booster where everyone in a match gets more xp if a subscriber is there. most games take the selfish polarity and that ends up undermining their future.

I was thinking a dual wield revolver class would be nice, but what of primary and skills? how about shotguns with slugs. this class would be a challenge because he would have OP guns that fire as fast as you click but his defining skill is a curse that makes him more likely to get hit literally Bullet Magnet. the skills could be special that they apply to sidearms and the revolvers all the same and have a armor piercing stackable for kills(or a %20 AP as gun tree capstone). I prefer damage and RoF for gun type specific skills.

If there are upgrades of those, I should be leveling the Shadow even more


that’s theoretically, I don’t have the creds to buy any now and shadow is my 3rd class anyway. I have to try the phantom some more, it has pretty strong vertical kick compared to assault classes. but I have made faster headshots with it than with any machine pistols.

I can excuse no advanced shadow settings since unity isn’t good with shadow filtering, I am still optimistic about improvements and Rumble have been bringing some good changes even tho the sensitivity resets after refreshing the page, at least now it carries over to new matches once set.
But where are the two most important sliders of FPS games? I could also support separate texture quality settings and shadow and bloom toggle.
Just don’t embarrass yourselves by adding an advanced setting menu smaller than the normal settings.

I have an idea but I never learned to automatically knife in any game, its not helping I can headshot on mall in cqc easily with whirlwinds, so far I’ve had best shadow scores in the hollow. getting a tornado and the machete(secondary) are a priority, can’t decide if the cloak or the reload skills are better first anyway.
