Topic: Clicker Heroes / Idea for an ancient: Atemall, the ancient of eating

Would this be a constant check? Or would it be like a “roll” when the monster in question reaches the specific threshold?

Topic: Clicker Heroes / Ancient Idea - Hirudo Ancient of Leeching

First, it’d probably have to be coded so that you get every other ancient first so that this costs somewhere near enough HS to make it take a long time to pay itself back.

Beyond that, it seems rather OP.

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Suggestion and ideas thread

So I got bored and was thinking about how Suggestion could be improved. As it stands, its a static chance of suggesting ANY item within a customer’s favorite parameters based on their mood. I was thinking of making it more in-depth by giving us modifiers.

These modifiers would allow us to change our chances of a successful suggestion based on specific prerequisites. Upgrading our skills at these (since these focus on what would be spoken in terms of suggesting the alternate) is done purely by successes, kinda like unlocking recipes (where each successful craft of a recipe works towards unlocking new ones when they can do so).

Here’s what I had so far. They’d definitely need shorter names for in-game tooltips, but this is all just my ramblings.

1. The best offense… When a person asks for a weapon to beat a boss, suggesting a defense-based item will have a higher chance of success. This also applies to healing items (Surviving is a great defense, right? Your defense doesn’t matter at all if you’re dead)
2. The best defense… See above, but in reverse.
3. Bigger and better! When you suggest an item in the same field as what the person wants, but more advanced, you have a higher chance of success (ex. Customer asks for the basic Club shopkeep can make, you’d have a higher chance when offering the basic Bludgeon that the Carpenter makes).
4. Keep it simple. When a customer mentions being tight on money, suggesting an item cheaper than what they ask for will have a higher chance of success. (Possibly just within the same category as what they asked for)
5. You tried this out, so you know it’s quality! When suggesting an item to a customer that they’ve used on a quest for you before (be it a real quest or one of the repeatable ones), you have a higher chance of success. (ONLY applies to items they successfully return to you. If you gave them an item once and it broke, for example, that item wouldn’t be on the list.)
6. Long-term customer. Any customer who is max level has a higher chance of accepting your suggestions (since you’ve been there to help them out since they started).

This is just what I can come up with off the top of my head, and there’s definitely room for improvement (or the whole thing would just be too much math that’d do nothing but make the game lag more. Hopefully not but who knows).

Yeah. When I first boosted my Treebeast to 100k he became like, 25% of my overall DPS at the time (I think). Don’t underestimate that level 1000 boost…it’s potent.

You get Heros’ Souls by playing the game and leveling heroes (1 per 2k levels), alongside from some bosses starting at level 100.

These souls give a boost to your click damage and DPS (10% per)…

…OR you can use them to purchase Ancients, which give unique boosts to your game. These include reduced cooldowns, higher chances of getting chests, and so on.

A sort of ‘hide upgrades’ system. What it could be is that each icon for an upgrade has a little X in the corner. Clicking this will send it to the bottom of the list as if you’d bought it, but it remains unpurchased. You can scroll down at any time to purchase it if you wish. This could also come with a button in the Settings menu that says ‘Unhide All’ which allows you to move the X’d upgrades back to the top of the list (if not already purchased).

I hate to be rude, but I already got that. If you read in the achievements where the shrimp have a 3-point combo I reference a drinking game: ‘for every time they reference GoT, take a shot.’ That’s why I say to just take another shot by Game of Loans.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Dr. Who reference personally, cause I’ve seen a T-shirt before describing time as a ball of…I think it called it “wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.” But I was unsure.

I like ‘German Word for Ragnarok’ better than “Lemon Twilight.” Makes more sense given the fatalistic nature of other Lemon achievements.

I also feel like the Operating x VIII is some sort of science-y reference. Like some sort of space station or something…scientology seems too odd to fit. I dunno.

Ok, so someone explained to me what I was doing wrong and now the formatting is back. Yay.
For anyone interested, apparently formatting (including Enter Spaces and the stuff like stars for bolding and underscores for italics) breaks here if you have more than 45 dashes (these little buggers – ) in one post.

There’s a few things left to figure out that I’m sure are references, but Google doesn’t want to help me with them:
Operating Lemon VIII
Citrus of the 7 Suns (Might be a Saga of Seven Suns reference, but I’m not sure. My gut says otherwise, but I can’t recognize anything…)
Lemonokereti

[Edit: Here is a pastebin of your post. I replaced all the “-”s with “~”s. I also posted it (and immediately deleted the post, of course) to confirm that it works.]

Interesting, good to know. Much thanks for making that, I’ve gone in and fixed the issue.

Topic: Technical Support / Formatting Error

On my screen, I’m seeing formatting errors in my forum posts. I’ll have enter spaces and code stuff (like the stars around stuff to bold it) in my text, but when it’s saved nothing actually is there. No enter spaces, formatting just shows the icons, and my big posts are a mess now. Is this just my side?

Test Huh. It’s not working in this other post. http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2606-adventure-capitalist/topics/422726-adventure-capitalist-references Any ideas why?

Good luck sifting through it…if it’s the same as it is on my screen, the formatting has all gone right down the drain. I suppose maybe quoting it would allow you to copypaste the better formatting into a Word document or something so that everything is neater and easier to copypaste to the wiki. Also, there’s probably ALOT more references in the achievements than I listed, solely because I’m kinda torn on where to draw the line. Alot of the Lemonade stuff is just lemon-(insert word part here), like referencing Armageddon or Ragnarok or…oh screw it, time to update the original post again.

Why not just have a toggle? Like, you can either use the game’s classic system of various different names, or you can switch it over to notation.

Lost on reset. But, if you reset smartly, you won’t miss them for long (like other AI upgrades you sacrifice). Generally, if you reset right, you should be able to recoup the AI losses you’ll have initially quite fast.

Anti-Idle has more variety of content compared to this, but this is nice and simple and straightforward and can get amusingly ridiculous. That and all the references are nice.

…Not that AI doesn’t have its share of references.

Holy Moolah seems a bit too generic to be a reference, and I’m against listing Dogecoin because it’s direct as opposed to the references listed already (pretty much every other reference is mildly obscure or at least modified to make it not as obvious – see James Camera, Jenn Catsburger, etc.).

In zombie apocalypse survival lore, an oil rig is supposedly the absolute best place to be to avoid zombie attacks because they can’t get to you. If you’ve got fresh water beneath you, you can drink. You can fish to eat (long line, I know). And you keep the biters away because they have no way up to you.

Looked it up – “Left 4 Dead 2 Oil Rig” appears to lead to videos of a game mode in such, making that check out. Also found a page on some sort of zombie apocalypse survival wiki which specifies that offshore rigs are the way to go here. More dangerous, but good if you need a short-term location to stay. Bad in long term due to the elements, possible pirates, and no real way to grow more food (it’s offshore…this ain’t Minecraft, son. Can’t drop a few dirt blocks, take a hoe to them and start planting wheat).

I had avoided the achievements because I felt it might be tough in some cases to see where the line between reference and name ends. There’s plenty more in there I suspect, but the issue from my perspective is seeing where the line is.
