What’s with the “arriving reinforcements” countdown in Empire view?

Topic: Cyberpunks vs Syndicates / Bugs, bugs, bugs!

The new change in the requirements for upgrading your army makes the existing upgraded troops (which are now impossible to upgrade to) not perform any damage. Since 80 of my troops are in this situation and they have the best gear, my damage has been significantly reduced. In other words, I’m being punished for upgrading my troops.

Not sure if it’s a bug, but it seems to me that this update hasn’t been that well thought out.

Fight URL’s can be retrieved in the clear. If you click 2 times on someone’s name in the recent battles window it will go directly to the link on the brokenbulb domain (there are probably many other ways to do so). This leaves the opportunity for scripters to get the direct URL’s to fight players. They simply have to reload a fight URL and a new battle is won.

Until you obfuscate those links you will have a big problem with botters.

Do an overhaul of tactics. Most of them are completely useless now. Maybe put a larger accent on raid size specific tacs

Facebook users face a different raid (different picture, combined HP is that of all kongregate players)
We see a health bar for the counterpart-platform raid underneath the health bar for our raid, giving us an indication of how well each player base is going. First to defeat their raid wins, and both raids end. Winning side gets sweet victory hats + some loots, runner up participants can get a novelty prize.

Unbalanced? Probably. Maybe kongregate can get some more tactic slots and a HP multiplier if its an issue, but otherwise it encourages our player base to grow and fuels some fun rivalry.

I doubt that this will ever happen, but it would be a nice game mechanic to allow alliance vs alliance battles.

Right now, alliances seem like an afterthought, so a feature like this would make team play much more fun.

We went past the 80 members mark and we’re still going strong.

European or Asian players that have BTR are particularly needed. You’d have the opportunity to advance quickly in the ranks.

Slightly less off topic. We’ve just killed our first Wahsh and passed the 50 members landmark.

We’re still looking for active members.

That is funny because I played on the wazzup meme. See? He told “Wahsh up” and I interpreted as wazzup. See?

Proudly killing jokes for 5 straight years.

Ok, I’ll shut up now.

In a related note, we’re preparing to launch our first Wahsh Al-Sahraa.

Get on board quick, if you want to see what the new alliance raid has to offer.

Maniacs. Maniacs everywhere.

I get really boring visions.

Yes and no. I’ve been dealing with this “tough luck” for the last 6 years and I ain’t doing too bad. But then again my writing has nothing to do with gaming.

As for the OP, I suggest you start reading scripts and familiarize yourself with the jargon associated with the gaming industry. After that, try compiling a GDD (Game Design Document) and pitch it around. It’s better to have something real to show than just a funky feeling that “Yes, I could do this”.

Cheers

Topic: General Tyrant Discussion / Who actually quit playing Tyrant?

I think you’re asking the wrong question.

There are shades in between. As in people playing “not as much”. If the devs would count the average time spent by faction users playing their game, I bet they’d see a huge drop.

It’s the beginning of the end. A few hardcore players will remain, but most will play Tyrant less and less, until they give up altogether.

What changed in this game is a bit more fundamental than a tweak.

Basically, the old model was encouraging active play, now it’s the exact opposite.

The Faction wars were the only feature that kept hardcore users around, you know… the kind that actually spends kreds. Now you’ve managed to alienate them.

This is how games die.
