My “ratings for you” are all ~2 stars. I am never this merciful when rating games.

If the Kongregate API didn’t enable a game to gather info about the user, the game wouldn’t be (At least as easily) able to encourage spamming or make false messages from friends.

Since this seems really hard to grasp: Kongregate is catering to (Or even allowing, for that matter) money-focused facebook MMOs.

That is why you can blame Kongregate.

Topic: General Gaming / Grindquest. Where did it go?

It seems to be back as GrindQuest Censored.

The “Every single piece of art ripped from WoW” issue is solved. Now if the dev would just come up with his own names, it’d be a legitimate idle game.

Topic: General Gaming / Grindquest. Where did it go?

Perhaps it was (Finally) removed because almost everything in it was ripped graphics from WoW?

Actually, a lot of those shitty facebook MMOs automatically allow you to track people you add on Kong. So, it makes it so enemies can easily keep an eye on you, or find out who your in-game character is.

There are a lot of garbage games that get through, but stopping the MMO flood is as easy as removing the premium system. Again, it wont ever happen (Because profit) but it would put a stop to the majority of the problems that pop up. Another option would be to disable badges for any game with premium content (Which, again, wont happen. Badges lead to more plays which leads to more profit).

Additionally, a “Report Copyrighted Material” option (One which would allow the inclusion of text and/or screenshots) would serve well to destroy the MMOs. A large portion of them use blatantly ripped artwork, relatively few even take the effort to recolour or modify them.

Then, lately, there seem to have been more cases of games shutting down after players have spent money on the nonsense; though, I seem to recall something about a new consumer rights law proposed in some places that would make companies liable to refund content lost due to a game’s closure (enforcement of it would surely be laughable, however).

Yes you can. It’s a little thing called ‘minimum quality standards’ and/or ‘putting quality over profit’.

Sure it’s in every way opposed to the core ideals of capitalism, but hey.

Kong could easily disable the premium currency system entirely. They wont, but they could.

Topic: Kongregate / the community of this site is terrible

I could throw stones at chickens and tell them to stop clucking. Will it work? Maybe, but it’s surely not an effective method.

Nothing is more effective than pain.

Topic: General Gaming / I want your support

Considering he was talking specifically about basing it on the Kinect, I figured it’d be pretty clear that moving was referring to the form of input. Context, use it.

Also, since you seem to be having reading issues today:

indirectly or not at all social

A large part of SL’s combat games and even roleplay games are based on playing out predefined or semi-random scenarios against/involving NPCs, and gambling is almost entirely in the slot machine or market simulator styles. So, yes, a large part of combat and RP is either non-social or only indirectly so.

Topic: General Gaming / I want your support

Nope.

1. Movement has no place in video games.
2. Generally in SL a well-built sim is what attracts people. The “barren/spartan” landscapes are home to building sandboxes, griefers, and bots, not large gatherings.
3. Tons of people would object to a model of themselves.
4. It’d be a waste to develop for consoles as they’re recreated every few years.
5. A lot of the draw of SL is building, scripting, combat, roleplay, gambling, and various other things that are indirectly or not at all social.

Yeah, no Snipe.

The Culture is more or less infinitely superior to either of the presented factions.

That said, he put Halo over Star Wars.

The majority, Shaun, are not. Originally, the Stormtroopers were the same Fett clones. Later on they were replaced with human clones; and still later they became almost a complete minority due to mass-enlistment of real humans and relatively few aliens. This period of recruitment-based Stormtroopers is far longer than the period in which they are based on the Feet clones.

Skyman: Halo takes place, if I recall correctly, in 2525; whereas we can determine a rough date of 1782 for the Clone Wars (Due to various calculations from crossovers); leaving time for theoretical rebuilding and significant advancement.

That said, generally in a canon vs canon thread; it is implied that the battle takes place between the sum of all forces in the two series; not after the resolve of (a still incomplete) storyline within the canon.
