Topic: Bloons TD 5 / each bloon type and how to deal with

0<wave<46
2 2/3 boomerangs and a 4/2 ninja can hold, which lets you farm hard and prepare for the moab on 46 (4 2/3 bomb towers plus what you have already should hold)
by 46 you should have 8-9 farms (mix of 2/0 and 3/0)

46<wave<61
after 46 get a 2/2 village and a 2/3 super monkey, which should hold you to about 61
At 61 get some more super monkeys
keep upgrading throughout

Wave 63 (ceramics spam)
get a 4/2 bomb tower, no problem

just keep spamming super monkeys and upgrading dem farms and that should get you till 85
after that… just throw out temples and 2/4 snipers for cash

Topic: Mud and Blood 2 / When is mud and blood 3 is on kongregate ?

You said it yourself, mabzino
60wpm without FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES

Brutalized is assuming urb is typing at 60wpm for an entire month, which is something of a different scale, don’tcha think? :P

In any case, he’s still patching MnB2, (Goddamn 222s .) which means MnB3 isn’t even taking up all his hobby hours so… yeah
Either way, this is a free game and he’s not getting paid a dime for it, so it’s not as though we have any right to be setting deadlines anyway

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Monsters' Den Chronicles] best line up

I use frontline warrior, int inquisitor, sorceror and assassin
All my guys have at least 75% starting action and 50+ speed with shards/equips, so I blast them turn one with Cleave/Sneak Assault/Litany of pain/Lightning storm
Whatever survives is probably on very low health, and can usually be taken out in one or two hits from the followup, even before they get their first attack

I guess if you wanted to optimise, you’d replace sorceror with ranger, but I like having a pure mage around, even if he doesn’t do the most damage

Thing is, I can’t give any specific recommendations without knowing the rest of your line up
If your trickster is your main dps then yeah, go duel daggers, but if you do have the assassin, then go with the crossbow and use the trickster as a utility/secondary dps unit

Probably the easiest and cheesiest way of doing it is getting high tier retaliation equips, spirit guiding them, resetting all your characters to level 1, and putting the armor on yonder cleric

I tried it once for shits and giggles, and I had 1600 ret dmg, 1.4k hp and about 400hp regen/sec
Advantage of doing this way is your illusions kill themselves in one shot meaning the regen doesn’t matter and you can get as much as possible. Tape down the space bar, leave it overnight, and bam, about 1500 waves on beginner, then you can unequip items, reset, and do it all over again
Disadvantage is that it’s clearly abusing a mechanic of the game in a way that clearly wasn’t intended, but hey, single player, so who really cares

And for hawksworth, I tend to give him a crossbow and put him on the opportunistic stance if you have someone else to do the dps for you
Otherwise, I’m pretty sure demontooth/bestdefence is the best combination for straight damage

It’s not exactly a new concept :P

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Monsters' Den Chronicles] Evasion should be fixed

Oh em gee gaiz
my cleric with 10% evasion just dodged 6 attacks in a row
Clearly, this is a sufficient sample size and we can must conclude that 10% actually means 100%
True story

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Monsters' Den Chronicles] Spirit Leech

Thing with spirit leech is that it doesn’t actually give any additional dps
It’s still powerful, and possibly broken, but it’s more that there are other MORE broken weapons for mages to use

@zz

Okay, rereading your posts, I’ll admit that nothing you said was directly insulting, simply written in a tone that seemed fairly condescending
if that was not your intent, then I apologise for my own anger
The main point I took issue to was you dismissing accuracy as a small problem, since basic knowledge of probability states that A, any attack with probability accuracy less then 100% can miss every single time you use it, and B, the dice have no memory, so it’s entirely plausible to lose a fight (and the items to go with it if you’re playing with that penalty) simply through a string of incredibly bad luck
But as people have pointed out above, while yes, there are ways of mitigating accuracy losses, they are all fairly mana heavy and/or tend to sacrifice damage output
I’ll agree with the people that say that it’s logistically annoying having to mana up again every time, but you get so many potions in this game, it’s more time consuming then anything else (I play on normal/transitioning into vet diff)
But if we’ll go back to my nexus engine point
At veteran difficulties, the Nexus engine can easily one shot your rear line with that piercing attack of his, admittedly, my highest unit is only about level 30something, and I don’t use tonics/spirit guides, but I tend to find that your glass cannons get weaker and hit harder as you level up, meaning they die faster if focussed, but hit harder if not
While yes, there are ways of minimizing boss effectiveness (-accuracy, -quickness and -power are what I’ve come across), that engine will still be able to get off a couple of hits before you’ve managed to take out his support and weakened him, and with that time, he could easily disintegrate your entire rear line

No. Most people who aren’t terrible at this game can do what I described on any number of difficulties.

and again you are missing the point…10% evasion acts has at least 50% evasion
the numbers are way wrong and the description are misleading

You’re making this up.

has if…anyways, i can link up my lvl 70 party on armor games if you think im lying…

Yeah, no.
10% evasion is 10% evasion
Just because you missed an assassin 3 times out of 6 does not mean it has 50% evasion
And what does a level 70 party have to do with probability?

tl;dr
The RNG god is a bitch, deal with it.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Monsters' Den Chronicles] Am I playing this game incorrectly?

“Lucius and Hadrian in the frontline and Parthian and Rodrick in the back”
Does that answer your question kaygo? :P

Freijie has it right, the game is designed to be fairly balanced at low levels for standard play

veteran is when you’re starting to get better gear at a faster rate then they are scaling with you

I do not think you understand how probability works
It is totally, entirely possible to miss every single attack that has less then full accuracy from the moment you first open up chronicles
The odds of it are so small (roughly 0.05^x assuming 95% accuracy) that it’s not barely worth calculating, but it’s there

And you can’t just blanket accuracy as a “bit of bad luck” when that bad luck could be anything from a small inconvenience to getting a tpk because you missed a couple of hits on a nexus engine.

and please, don’t try to use the argument “oh, but my level 2billion sparked/tonic’d squad one shots them all anyway”
The game is not balanced at the very high levels, and pretending otherwise is insulting to everyone

“This game has plenty of defensive options, so that shouldn’t ever happen.”
Bosses can oneshot your rear line, and there’s not much you can do to stop it, short of actually trading off damage for survivability

Look, personally, I like the accuracy system. It gives a feel of randomness so that you can’t simply mathcrunch your way through a battle and forces you to react, but calling someone noob because the rng god decided to be an asshat is… incredibly dickish
