Attack and defense make sense, but what does speed do? Does speed make them move further in the battlefield? Does critical make a critical hit stronger, or does it let them hit critical more often?
I gave my (0 agility) gangster good shoes, but even with 560 agility now he never evades an attack. Agility affects evade, right?

Archer tower has power 250 and defense 150. Trap has power 100 and defense 80. Is there any reason to ever choose a trap instead of an archer tower?

I’ve read through all the info I could find on the sin-capital website, but it still leaves some unanswered questions. I’m sure I’m not the only one in the dark, so for everyone who reads the forum, I hope to get some clarification on a few things.
(For anyone that hasn’t read the FAQ already, go to http://www.sin-capital.com/news/info.htm .)

1) We all know the capos 6 six stats are Attack, Defense, Agility, Critical, Command, and Speed. What do each of the stats do? Why do some capos have 0 Agility and some have 0 Critical?

2) At level 40, you can start building defensive fortifications. The 5 types of fortifications are Trap, Abatis, Trebuchet, and Rolling log. What are the differences between these types?

After playing for weeks, I still didn’t know there was an FAQ for this game. There should be a direct link in the game (not just in bug report), and another link here on the kong forum or kong game description so we know how to play.

The story is incredibly hard to follow. If you miss one of the quick cut scenes, you can’t go back to read it again. The text boxes are often too small to hold the entire message the NPC says, and it gets cut off mid sentence. The grammar is still nonsensical on some places.

The chat needs a scrollbar. The window is small and when more than two people are talking, it’s easy to miss something. Since it jumps to the bottom with every message, you can’t scroll up easily to see what was missed.

I feel silly still reading these threads, but now I’m curious how the demand/supply scale will be implented.
Here’s what I imagine (and suggest):
- Set “average” stock rating to 0.
- For every copy of a card purchased, reduce the stock rating by -1. For every one sold, raise the stock rating by +1.
- At hourly intervals, change card prices based on stock rating: middle price if stock rating = 0; max price if stock rating < (95% of most extreme negative stock rating); min price if stock rating > (95% of highest stock rating); all prices in between are based on % of lowest and highest ratings.
- Cards with top 0.5% stock rating can not be sold.
- At daily intervals, scale down all stock ratings so that max = 1000 and min = -1000 and everything else keeps the same %. (This will prevent the stock rating from growing to infinite numbers, and also allow the market to change based on most recent activity.) Alterantively, pick a max number (such as 500,000) and rescale all whenever a card rating hits the max.


This might sound complicated, but here’s an example:

Today, 100 people buy Dracorex, 96 people buy EQG, 50 people buy Yurich, 25 people sell Yurch, 25 people sell Anko, 48 people sell Blight Tower, and 50 people sell Impede Assault.
The price at the end of the day will be Dracorex = 50wb (max), EQG = 50wb (max), Yurich = 31wb (25% above average), Anko = 20wb (25% below average), Blight Tower = 5wb (min), and Impede Assault = 5wb(min) and cannot be sold the next day.

Tomorrow, 10 buy Dracorex, 25 buy EQG, 100 buy Yurich, 25 buy Anko, and 22 more sell Blight Tower.
The price at the end of tomorrow will be Yurich = 50wb (max), EQG = 50wb (max), Dracorex = 47wb (88% above average), Anko = 25wb (average), Impede assault = 8 (84% below average) and can be sold again, and Blight tower = 5wb(min) and cannot be sold.

As the numbers get larger, the prices obviously would become more stable, but this example shows how the market would stay flexible to adapt to changing meta.

Premium packs still cost 25wb each, right? If you can buy any 1 rare card you want for less than the price of a pack (which has 1 rare), then what’s the incentive to ever buy packs again? Commons and Uncommons alone aren’t enough to sell a lot of packs. The elite store is incredibly useful for getting that one certain card you want more easily, but certainly it’s not meant to be used instead of the traditional pack sales. If dracorex is so popular that people are willing to pay 50wb (2 packs) to get it, then shouldn’t it be priced at 50wb?
You can argue that 25wb per pack is already too expensive, but that’s a different subject altogether.

Having said that, I understand nobody wants the old 25wb dracorex taken away – they had it before, and now they won’t. I think the trade-offs are still worth the while, though. You’ll be able to buy a pack and know that if you get your 3rd yurich instead of that dracorex you wanted, you can sell it at half price and buy more. When new expansions come out, you can buy packs, try out the new rares, and sell off the ones you don’t like. WB tournaments might become more popular again too if people know they can keep that snazzy new deck they made and sell off the rest. For people who might want to spend a smaller amount of wb, it will give a lot more freedom and flexibility in how and where they spend thier wb. As it was before, the only options you had were gambling on packs or waiting weeks for the right cards in the elite store.
Perhaps as a compromise, the devs could offer temporary sale of the “best cards” at the old prices for 1 week. Give all the players time to buy what they want at the old prices before the elite store change goes into full effect.
Also… Dracorex? Really? You only need one of those. People already spent 150wb on just collosus spam. Why is it always dracorex that people complain about?

Okay, obviously players don’t want to be able to sell cards for wb. Put the elite store back to how it was, and everybody’s happy, right?
Even if synapticon makes this proposal somehow work perfectly, it looks like something completely different will be needed to make non-wb players feel better.

Edit: ^ I guess that guy is the exception.

I can’t imagine bots being an isuue for the elite store. It just doesn’t make sense for a bot to buy out cards it doesn’t need just to screw with everyone else. It’s spending real money at the highest possible price with very little to gain from it. If the prices were in Gold, that’d be a different matter.

Hard caps will probably mess up your system. Unpopular cards will eventually hit the supply cap and stay there forever, while popular cards will get sold out, and rarely restock, if ever. Do you have a plan to handle that situation?

I don’t even play anymore, but I know this is wrong. After everything that’s happened in Tyrant, you’re upset that they don’t give away free wb? That they acknowledge that EMP is worth more than Grinder?
Faction wars are still messed up, but at least they tried to add more challenge and skill to it instead of the the pure activity spam + gang tactics it was before. They added RAIDS and (non-wb) award cards worth raiding for. They added double the missions, and more (non-wb) achievement cards with those. They added Three new expansion sets in less than half a year, and that’s no easy task.
Finally, they added LIVE PVP tournaments that can be played both with or without warbonds. They’re obviously working hard to keep giving more content for thier players, and you all respond by trying to kill the game on Kong.
Kong did not have Any good MMO game before Tyrant, and I really don’t want to see this game voted down only to be replaced by another Edgebee game

Because a picture of an actual exclusive card(!!) in a game ad attracts a heck of a lot more attention than 25 free money points.
I’ve seen promotional cards given away for games that don’t even have cards in the game. It works that well.

This is funny. The people who actually play the game are mad because they’re excluded from getting 1 card out of 397 in the game. They can’t “collect them all”.
The people who don’t play the game don’t care about the card, but they’re also mad because they can’t get a tiny picture of a ticket on thier profile – a ticket which represents a prize they have no chance of getting anyway. They just have to have that little picture on thier profile, and curse those that don’t let them get it.

It’s a promotional card that someone can only get if they are a member of both Kongregate and Gamestop rewards program, and they agree to have thier Kongregate and Gamestop memberships linked together. The US only part of it is a side-effect, and just as Hotshot said in some other thread, it’s probably something many Americans wouldn’t even bother signing up for.

The complaining here is way over the top for something like this, and even if it wasn’t, I doubt synapticon would’ve said no to such a promotional opportunity from GameStop. Maybe the complainers should petition for a european and/or asian company to do the same thing?

Topic: Tyrant / Possibly the simplest change to balance Tournament play

It’s not really that simple, since they’d have to design a mechanism for changing the deck randomization, make sure it applies to the second player only, and design a user interface to handle it.

Still, the idea sounds worth trying.
