Topic: Forum Games / Follow The Cop ... Or Not [Mafia Game] [Day 1] [Mon 9AM Deadline GMT]

I don’t believe that it’s a good idea to give the mafia a clear picture on who the town finds/does not find suspicious.

> player X does not get picked for hypothetical healed for a few nights in a row

> mafia know that X is unpopular

> free bandwagon.

conversely, If the mafia see that one of their members is hypothetically healed a lot they know that the guy in question is considered to be townie by a lot of guys and he can be used as a nexus for starting scumwagons.

If mafia see that Y (who is secretly a mafia member) is popular then Y knows this and can boldly propose a scumwagon on some player without worrying about backlash when the reveal comes.

The advantage isn’t game changing, but it’s certainly more than the tiny advantage of cop knowing that on X night he was paranoid when the doctor dies. Most likely the doctor will only manage to protect the cop that one night, so the most you can get with your strat is that the cop knows that on a certain single night he was paranoid. That’s it. No other information.

It would be hilarious for the mother alien to just take a shot in the dark on night one and hit cap/nav and instantly win.

I think one of our best strategies would be to everyone say “If I am the doc I healed X this night” after every night with a succesful nk (because otherwise that would be giving the scum information). That way if the doc gets killed, he flips, then the cop will have information on exactly what were the true outcomes of his investigations, and we don’t give scum information, and we can even use it to generate discussion. Anyone got a better idea?

Not sure if blatant role fishing or failure to realize that this pretty much forces everyone to expose their tells every day for the mafia’s viewing pleasure.

Show me the evidence and I shall make my decision. Before any evidence(actual evidence, not accusations) is released, it would be morally wrong to take a stance on the issue.

D1 technically hasn’t started.

That’s because the host was waiting for me to sign as a reserve.

I think I’ll start an archive of dev’s post and publish it as a collection of diary entries of a man slowly slipping into madness. Would make some good absurdist fiction.

Everyone knows the first game is Dorm, a primitive game where you played as a disgruntled kid who decides to shoot up his school.

But seriously, Doom.

Name: William Harbinger

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Class: Sephirah Seed

Appearance: William Harbringer’s hair is a bright silver, and his face is pale and blank. He is of average height and build, and his fingers are long and graceful. He wears a bespoke suit, black and formal. His eyes are a sharp bright red, and they seem to be staring at some unknown point in the distance. Sometimes, when he is looking at you, one gets the impression that he is actually looking through you, at something right behind you.

His hair is always brushed down, neat and formal; his shoes are a shiny leather. He is Caucasian, and often wears a black coat over his suit. This coat carries a variety of knives concealed in various hidden sections, as well as a perfect white pearl.

Personality: William’s original personality has been wiped and merged with the power of the Seraphim Seed. The grand enormity of space and time have turned his mind into a blank slate, an emotionless calculation machine. His main personality trait from his life before the Seed- this overwhelming arrogance- is the only thing that persists.

William lives only to advance his own knowledge of magic and to explore the boundaries of what he can do with time, gravity and force; however, the obligation of the Seraphim Seed to stop the demons is slowly pulling him in that direction, and William has begun to seek out the Ordo Exorcistae, believing he can be a great aid to them.

William is incapable of malice, or hate. Equally he is incapable of love or affection. Rather, he makes decisions by following the path that will lead to the maximum utility, and has an extremely intelligent mind capable of deep calculation to find said path.

<will add abilities, raiment/armament when confirmed as a seraphim seed>

I agree with sarothat that we should lynch a person today; the mathematics is sound.

Probs is, should we just treat this as a regular RVS? Or lynch inactives?

My way of viewing it is simple.

Since there is practically no benefit to lynching on D1 my advice is to vote no lynch and see how things play out. I think wolfbitten should keep his role under wraps and unveil the claim once the number of player dwindles(lots of lategame value; if the WW had previously claimed vanilla for example he can claim without fear of being fakecounterclaimed by the WW at LyLo).

Like Precarious said, if the foreteller reveals, the werewolf will just assassinate and the foretold isn’t of any use to us. Therefore, there is no role in the game in which it is in the role’s own best interests to claim immediately.
