The "Tolerance" Movement
What about necrophilla? Or something like that? If they put it in the will that they consent would to be legal?
Why not? If the deceased had consented while alive, then there isn’t a “victim”; You can’t have a crime without a victim.
The only thing I can think of that would make this whole arrangement iffy is the family and its wishes.

Not a big deal… They haven’t even hit 100 users.
Besides, Kongregate would probably wait until they actually have some revenue before threatening legal action.

Why do you feel like you have to keep posting that? Shes at least 18, so it isn’t relevant in any way.

Exactly. The problem is that often, you never hear why people disagree. The same happens with evolution.
Not really… When my school taught evolution, we were instructed to research both sides.
Leviticus 18:22: “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.” That’s about as explicit as you can get.
So, as long as your not a closet gay, you should be fine. If other people want to sin, let them; It’s their choice, not yours.
We don’t like your beliefs and you don’t like ours, yet for some reason, we must accept yours and you can bash us all day because we’re “intolerant”.
Are beliefs aren’t restricting anyone’s freedom. If you want to bash gays, that is your constitutionally protected right. However, it is not your right to say who can and cannot be wed in this country.

Military Recruiters In Schools(& Anarchy)
Mutually assured destruction is the only thing stopping half the world being turned into radioactive soup right now.
Being a pacifist is fine, but if you don’t have the strength to dissuade others (who don’t necessarily share your sentiments) from attacking you, you are not going to survive.
I disagree. If a nation where to spend all its military spending on expanding international trade and their economic center, it would carry enough power to peacefully resolve conflicts through trade restrictions and such.

Cause they’re the government, and they don’t have to obey they’re own laws… Or just make it;
Killing someone means you die, unless you are the person who is killing someone for killing someone and have been chosen to do this by the government. Also, when we’re at war it’s fine. You even get medals!
They are accountable for their actions, whether by their own citizens or the international community.
And no, I don’t believe that war is ever okay, either. Killing anyone for any reason is wrong, whether you get a medal or not.
Allow him to do all those things then.
Minors are not capable of doing these things, though. The (generally) don’t realize the scope of their actions, and the consequences associated with them. Their is plenty of evidence to suggest that their brains are as developed as adults’ are. Adults can be fully held accountable for their actions; the same cannot be said for children.

The picture was taken from a porn site… The website on the side of the picture should be confirmation enough.

No, but if you know you are going to die. Your not going to shoot someone.
Well, that is obviously not the case. Look at any country that used capital punishment; were any of them crime free?
If it isn’t acceptable for a person to kill someone, why should a government be able to?
If he premeditated the murder, knew what he was doing, and knew consequences would come if he was caught, he deserves EVERY bit of his punishment…
But he isn’t a legal adult! He can’t represent himself in court, sign contracts, or pay taxes. If he cannot be see as an adult in our legal system, why should he be prosecuted as one?

Proposition 8 in California, 2008
Not a name of a case at all. It’s someone I personally know, and it was never brought into question since it was a man and a woman (I doubt they went to the judge and said “Hey, we’re gay, can we get married anyway?”). I think she did it to help him naturalize, and they didn’t mind since they weren’t allowed to marry the people they wanted to marry anyway.
Misread the post… Still, that is pretty cool. Kudos to your friends!

Why not? Most adults don’t know how courts work. They can sign contracts. Or alternatively you could sentence the parents to the death penalty, because that’s what happens to fines.
Legal adults are given different legal rights than children, regardless of their knowledge about our legal system. And again, let me point out the the death penalty is not an acceptable course of action, as it is state murder…

A common punishment for premeditated murder is the death penalty. Why should age affect the relationship between the severity of their crime and the severity of their punishment?
Should a child really receive the same legal consequences of an adult? They can’t sign contracts, or represent themselves in our legal system. Why should the be penalized like adults if they can’t function as one?

Similarly, I actually know some homosexuals who got married years ago. How? One was a gay man, the other a lesbian woman. Funny, no one seemed to mind. What this means is what SaintAjora was pointing out – the law is not against homosexuals, it’s against the sex of the individuals, which is blatantly unconstitutional.
Really? Seems like an interesting precedent. To you happen to know the name of the case?
Oh, and by the way, please check your whispers.

Regardless of whether or not he is a danger to society, the death penalty should not be considered. The death penalty is, as far as I’m concerned, state murder.
Rehabilitation seems like the proper course of action. He is just an eight year old, and anything short of rehabilitation will probably spark a public outcry.

If that is the case, I doubt anyone outside of Europe will have reasonable access.
Do you know if the library is state funded, grant funded, or privately owned? If the latter is the case, it might be a “pay to get better access” kind’ve deal.

Death at Kongregate
While I certainly can’t speak for everybody, seeking attention on the internet is hardly the behavior of any suicidal or terminally ill person that I’ve ever met or heard of.
I doubt he was really suicidal or terminally ill in the first place. The whole thing reeks of fakeness.

how come theres so many chinese people?
and wow, what are we going to do about the increasing popluation, not just of china, but the whole world
We do nothing. As long as food supply meets demand, people will have kids. If the population over extends itself, it will be to expensive to have children. There is always an economic incentive to not have children, even when governments don’t provide one.
