Topic: Off-topic / So I finished watching Game of Thrones

Have you read the books? They’re both better and more detailed than the show and ofc farther along in the plot.

For TV shows though, I don’t think there’s anything quite like GoT out there. Perhaps the closest is House of Cards since it’s a political intrigue show but House of Cards is much worse on all counts. House of Cards is worth a watch but nothing truly amazing.

My all time favorites for TV are Breaking Bad, Lost, Mad Men and Battlestar Galactica in roughly that order. All of those shows are really high quality although Lost and Battlestar suffer from mediocre endings. Breaking Bad is basically perfect on all counts. If you haven’t watched that it’s definitely what I recommend.

Interesting to see the rise in rape throughout the 90s and up to the mid-2000s, considering other violent crime dropped significantly in that time

You know I think it might actually be because the true number of sexual assaults didn’t change or even went down, but the willingness of people to report it went up

But I guess none of that is TECHNICALLY on topic

Topic: Off-topic / Its been a year.

When I first found OT, I was like 10 or 11 I think, and this was 5-6 years ago

I was bored on the internet and looking for something to do

I did a few forum games and occasionally posted, I got to like 1k posts actually but I don’t remember my posting style because it was so long ago. I don’t think I really posted enough for anyone to notice me, but I was a smart 11 year old and so I wasn’t obviously underage. After a while I got bored of it and left.

Then later, again bored on the internet, I went back to OT. This would be right after I turned 13, in 2011. I posted pretty heavily for a year and two months. I also hosted some forum games. By the end, I was really burnt out of doing my forum game, which was quite a long runner and a lot of work with no end in sight. I was also getting bored of OT, and so I quit posting on Kongregate altogether. At this time I was playing a ton of LoL and I found the LoL forums more entertaining than OT. The transition wasn’t very hard. I still play a lot of LoL.

Present day. I again found myself bored on the internet, and started checking OT a lot more frequently. Previously, I only checked it like once every three months after I stopped posting. Anyway, now that I’m checking it more often, I figured why not start posting again. And so here we are.

Introspection is fun.

Topic: Off-topic / That moment...

Hitting Diamond 1 in LoL, because I never made it past 20 LP and I eventually fell down to Diamond 2. Still feels pretty cool that I got there at all, though. I don’t play League quite as much as I used to (still play a lot) so I’m not sure if or when I’ll be good enough to get back there and stay. I’ve pretty much remained at the same level for almost a year.

On the subject of goals, it’s human nature to never be satisfied with the things one has, and I think that can be extended to personal accomplishments, too. If you’re the type of person who obsesses over achieving a goal, once you have it you’ll surely strive for more, and perhaps that thing which you aspired to so much before now seems meaningless.

When I’m alone in the house in the afternoon, with the sun shining through the windows as I sip an ice cold drink and watch a movie.

It’s the most peaceful, satisfying time ever. Nothing can really compare.

So… yeah. Join the protests against the name change.

I also don’t like the nerfs to AP Janna. Why even do that.

Unfortunately I just couldn’t think of any ideas for activated nations, so there are none.

I do have a different idea on how to spice up the game. We’ll be seeing that shortly.

Some stuff has been edited, the affected sections are the UCAEN, the Andean Confederation, and Chile. Also, maps have been updated.

Edit: Nevermind, maps have not been updated. Imageshack has decided not to let me upload images. Hopefully they’ve got their shit straightened out tomorrow.

Veganism is optimal for human society, as animals are not an efficient form of acquiring food. Getting rid of our domesticated animals would also help the environment, and it would also make obesity less prevalent.

However, animals taste good, and so I eat them.

United Coalition of Afro-Eurasian Nations; 3.6T (+6.65T Income)

-The UCAEN essentially finishes its economic improvements, working on the more war-torn areas of the Balkans, Indonesia, as well as some nations in the Middle East who are not quite up to standards. In addition, Somalia is given a little boost; even though it has gone through multiple rounds of improvements, it is still one of the poorer UCAEN nations. After these improvements, every UCAEN nation can be considered to be Affluent or above. (-$8T)
-The UCAEN starts up military training across the alliance, focusing on better rather than more troops, as well as improving guerilla capabilities both utilizing guerilla tactics and fighting them. Trainers experienced in such matters are brought in specifically for this purpose. The project is generally successful, but the scope is so large even though the UCAEN has spent quite a bit on this project only a small fraction of the eventual goal has been finished. (-$2T)
-The UCAEN uses Spanish solar technology to provide a source of power for its lunar bases near the poles, as well as constructing nuclear power plants for those bases not gifted with near-permanent sunlight. The costs here are quite large, and the project is only half complete, but once finished this will provide an excellent way to sustainably perform lunar agriculture. (-$2T)
-The UCAEN recruits Poland, Austria, and the Czech Republic to the alliance, providing them with a small stipend in return for their prompt agreement. Switzerland was also given the chance to join, but it is committed to neutrality and states that the Swiss economy needs no assistance. (-$0.6T)

Because of the massive amount invested, improvements are clearly noticed at all levels and the Saudi Arabian economy is booming like never before. The government reaps the rewards and Saudi Arabia’s economic level can now be considered Loaded. (-$3500B, Economic Increase)

-The Andean Confederation uses its newly-researched police equipment to cut down on crime across the Andes, shipping out truckloads of advanced technology as well as advanced training in the use of these new-fangled doohickies. These new advances do much to halt crime; many Andean criminals have no response to the new methods used. (-$5.25T)

-Chile pays the ALAN tax. (-$100B)
-Chile pays the UEN tax. (-$100B)
-Chile contributes to the Andean Confederation. (-$150B)
-Chile continues funding Al-Shabaab. Chile recommends that Al-Shabaab set up a stable income source for when Chile decides to spend money on other things, and so Al-Shabaab creates a variety of companies with the large contribution Chile gives it. They are generally successful, especially operating in a time of economic boom due to the UCAEN’s continuous economic improvements, and Al-Shabaab is raking in the dough. (-$150B)
-Chile works with Turkey to improve its economy, and combined with Turkey’s own efforts, Turkey is very close to becoming Prosperous. (-$350B)
-The Andean Confederation’s research pays dividends and Chile’s stability is boosted considerably.
