Is unfair and bothers me…. Firstly, I never called it a sequel, so I don’t know what you are quoting there. I just wanted to make an achilles style game where you could fight against warlords characters, because believe it or not, there are people that enjoy both games. It is not Warlords 2, if anything its Achilles 2 (which its not). I was thinking about doing a Warlords sequel that would be set in the future, but we’ll see. After making game loads of people always request sequels. This could easily have been achilles 2, which could have been achilles but with a load of new enemies, but instead I thought I would do something a bit different. You may call this achilles dressed up (I think of it as another game based on the same engine). The stuff I added to achilles to make Warlords: Heroes took way longer than achilles did in its entirety. You could just as easily call fallout 3: Oblivion dressed up

Okay, that’s a fair point. I see now there’s a lot more depth than in Achilles. Sorry if my point came across as a bit harsh, I understand now there’s definately some work put in there. I recommend you at least change the way the health bars display, and speed up the movement a little bit for some variation; that accounted for the bulk of my nasty “deja vu” initial reaction.

I find it a little ridiculous this is doing so well. Judging by the new warlords “sequel,” Ben Olding can play dress-up with all his old games and make obscene amounts of money. What’s next, “WarLordFighter: Disputed Castle Area?” “Warlords: Blitz Gondola?”

Topic: Kongregate / What makes it okay?

I don’t want to get too involved in this thread, because emotions are running high. Both points are valid, here’s a summary of how both sides feel:

AGAINST:

- Kongregate Admins shouldn’t break their own rules.

- No matter the circumstance, an offense in an offense.

- Admins aren’t above the law, regardless of their status.

- The removal of the Sonny 2 joke is unfair, as Kongai Launch remains on the site.

FOR:

- Kongregate Admins can define the rules any way they see fit.

- It was a very specific circumstance, (April Fools’ Day,) in which a staff-approved exception was made.

- The Staff can do as they please, because Kongregate is their “property,” so to speak.

- The Sonny 2 joke is not comparable to the Kongai Launch one.

Can we please calm down now? Continue to debate if you wish, but personal assaults are not okay.

Topic: Kongregate / "loot challenges"

Coming from a high level, this may sound a bit biased, but keep reading, because this is a pretty solid suggestion.

Kongregate could run special contests (maybe once a month) that require a certain level to enter. (I.E. you must be level 15 to enter the challenge.) What this does for Kongregate is encourage users to stay on the site and play games instead of creating an account and using it once a week to enter contests, thus raising their userbase, ad revenue, and developer ad revenue. What this does for the users is reward those who are loyal to Kong with a better chance of winning a contest, and take away that feeling you get that you’re being cheated by the hordes of new accounts that will invariably be made and used only once a week to enter the contests. This also gives the levels a purpose beyond bragging rights, something the Kongregate community has been asking for.

For those of you who need an avatar and have flash, try to find an area of your current avatar you can color deep red. (I picked the background.) If you can’t fit a “G” in there, add a red ribbon to the corner. Type a “G”, select it, and press ctrl+b twice. Drag the “G” over your ribbon. To save the image when you’re done, File>Export>Export Image>[NameHere].bmp

Note: .jpeg files look odd when you save them. I recommend you do NOT save as a .jpeg, save as a .bmp instead!

Yeah, TheBSG is right. Just tape a little square of paper with your kongregate level to your shirt. The ladies will flock to you if you are anywhere over level 20, knowing you have superior gaming skills. Policemen also know that anyone who beat 3d logic 2 has superior intelligence and would never make the stupid mistake of speeding, so print out your badge page and keep it in your glove compartment.

I waited in the cold outside a circuit city for three hours. I got a wii. I argued the wii argument, I bought the wii games, I scorned my xbox 360 and ps3-buying friends. I now have an xbox 360, and I never play wii. Ever. The wii was a big dissapointment.

Ilk, from page one: Yes, compared to professionally-developed software, I do believe that flash games are inferior, or if you would so like, crap.

I know you made this post two pages back, but as a developer, I feel a need to address it. From what you’ve written above and elsewhere in this topic my understanding is that you don’t enjoy playing any flash games posted on this site, or indeed on any site, and that you play them only so you can earn cards. You feel you don’t have enough of these, so you post a topic on these forums asking to have more cards made available to you. Cards that you can use to play a flash game. I do realize that Kongai is a significantly more complex than your average flash game, but you are nonetheless contradicting yourself, and doing so in a very vocal manner. I also find your statement that all flash games are “crap” to be incredibly offensive, mainly because the games are free and no-one is making you play them. Not only that, the commercial games to which you so favorably compare them to have large teams of people working on them for, in most cases, two years or more. The average flash game is developed by one or two people for a few months of incredibly hard work, oftentimes while said developer(s) have school or a job to deal with, then posted to the internet for free, costing you nothing but the time you may or may not volunteer to play. I’m not saying you have to appreciate their work, I’m just saying you should consider the scale of two parties before comparing them, and that while you don’t have to enjoy flash games, you should show some respect for the people who develop them. You wouldn’t walk up to an artist giving away free pieces of art on the street and insult him because his paintings aren’t comparable to those produced by a group of artists on a large payroll, would you? Would you do the same thing, then claim that he isn’t offering you enough art afterwards?

When the player becomes frustrated with no means of help implemented by the developer, hard has become too hard. Unless, of course, the hard part in question isn’t part of the main game. (I.E. optional bonus challenges.) Just my opinion.
