Oh, and before the “Games like Evony have huge advantages for the paid players and they last a long time” argument comes out, I’ve been a free player in games like that. Yeah you never come close to stacking up to the paid players but you can still participate in wars. In this game you can barely even contribute to a guild if you aren’t a paid player, it’s ridiculous.

First off, I am a paid player. I have put 50 bucks into the game.

I like the game quite a bit (hence why I paid 50 bucks). Unfortunately I don’t see it lasting very long. The players who pay get such an enormous advantage over the free players it is not even funny.

Now while I am enjoying stomping on free players left and right, I don’t see that lasting very long. How long before the population of the server declines and I find myself fighting the same people in the arena over and over again?

All you have to do is make the higher tier cards ACTUALLY accessible to the free players. And no, not just “you can fuse your weak cards to make really good weak cards”, the actual high tier cards that only have legendary/godlike.

And no, it’s not feasible for a free player to save up 800000 gold to buy one godlike card on auction. That’s ridiculous.

Please do something about this before the game dies over it.

Yeah, I wasn’t trying to attack people who go afk. Things happen in real life sometimes that need attention, it happens to everyone.

That’s why it’s so important that this feature gets implemented. It can destroy a boss battle, and when a boss battle can take upwards of 15 minutes it can be really frustrating if it happens halfway through.

If a a player goes afk during any battle, they should be put on auto play after 1 or 2 rounds of inactivity.

I just got stuck in a boss battle with an afk member for the entire fight. One we lost (though we did put up a fight), two we had to sit there and wait for his 30 second timer every round, which was painful.

It would be easy to implement and a huge improvement.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [RiotZone] Settings request

Can you please implement a volume bar for sounds?

I like to watch youtube videos and listen to music while playing games like these, and the sound cues are how I know whether I got into that pvp battle ive queued up for or not. But if I’m doing random missions while doing things in another screen and dont want to watch them the sounds are a little too loud.

It’s not a make-or-break sort of feature, but it should be simple to implement.

Topic: Bush Whacker 2 / Stupidest game concept ever

Haha, I love all the rage defense posts. I posted the op immediately after playing it to share my opinion of the game. Never played again, nor checked up on it.

I ended up back here because I saw the game was a “staff pick” in the bottom right corner so I figured I’d see if this topic went anywhere.

For the “Then don’t play it!” people. I don’t. So… Yeah.. You got me there I guess.

For 1337al’s post (don’t feel like quoting it :P ) They just uh, don’t work. Because, you know, you kind of leave out huge portions of those game genres you were referring to. In this game you literally just whack bushes… It’s like old school Zelda games, minus pretty much everything that made them fun.

Maybe it’s just me. I tried the game for about 10 minutes hoping it would go somewhere interesting, but it didn’t. I just kept whacking harmless bushes that people apparently love hiding things in. I’m the kind of guy that will play the 5/10 games and enjoy them, and I hated this. How it got a staff pick is beyond me.

EDIT: Oh, and for everyone who says they don’t understand the point of going on a forum to say you don’t like the game:

Forums are used for communicating your opinion (among other things) about the game. Right? ’Nuff said.

So yeah, I’ll be back when the game get’s GotY somehow. Then I will proceed to shoot myself.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Knights of the Sky] What drove me away

I played up to level 20 and when I finally realized how much of a pain the stockpile feature for iron and crystal would become I immediately stopped playing.

I would either have to farm lighthouses nearly constantly, or I would have to pay money to keep earning iron and crystal.

After about 20 minutes of farming lighthouses I stopped playing.

I don’t mind putting some money into these kinds of games every now and then. But I want to get bonuses out of it, not necessities.

if you click your hub, then click the top-right icon, you can get an overview of what you’re producing and using up. Not saying that that’s the problem.

My resources are buggy too. I should be producing about 250ish food per hour. My captured nodes I’m trading to just stopped being accounted for on my overview sheet and I’m not getting those per hour.

Yeah, eventually I noticed another building on an open space I didn’t want there, so I started demolishing that one too. So, the first building I started demolishing should have been done already, but said over a half hour. But then when I looked back, the time left synched up with the other building I started demolishing and it counted down like normal.

Very weird glitch, please fix.

So, I needed to demolish a building I foolishly built somewhere I shouldn’t have (Industrial plant on an open spot). When I started the demolish, if I remember right it said it would take a half hour.

I checked up on it later and it said it had an hour and 51 minutes to go.

I checked on it maybe ten minutes later and it said it had 10 minutes to go.

Then I checked on it like a minute later and it said it had a half hour to go.

Yeah, I don’t really have too much of an issue with Edgebee, just saying these are fairly simple flash games (albeit with quite a bit of depth), and to truly be “competitive” at all levels, you would have to spend more per month than you would a high-end MMO.

That being said, you don’t HAVE to spend money, and I do enjoy the games they put out. I’m not an Edgebee hater by any means, but I would guess their profit margin is pretty big.

Oh, and by the way, I have tried cache clearing. It may be a browser related issue. I use google chrome and haven’t bothered trying to play on other browsers, it’s really not that annoying of a bug to me.

I get that bug you are referring to fairly often. If I log in with 30 turns and use them to grind battles, I will likely have to refresh twice. When the battle ends, the map disappears and you can’t do anything.

And yeah, I do think edgebee pushes for more money than it’s games are worth.

This game is quite a bit of fun for what it is. I do have one complaint about the quests though. It takes way too long to accumulate these quest items (at least early on). I have been killing these kurtey’s for so long trying to get their legs. The point where it is economical for me to kill them for xp and gold has long since passed and now I’m just grinding to finish this quest. I have gone through about 60 turns killing these things and I’m down to needing only one more to finish it finally.

I had somewhat the same problem with the mushshroom cap quest, but it wasn’t nearly as bad because I had three more levels of forest to go through when I got the quest. Now I’m sitting outside the sewer entrance pressing the search for monster button repeatedly, first hoping to encounter kurtey’s, and second praying that they actually drop the stupid thing once I kill them (they seldom do).

I like the game, I like the level system, and I don’t mind the microtransactions, heck, if I still like the game after a couple more days I’ll probably be buying tokens myself. But that’s assuming I’m still not chasing down these low level kurteys to finish a stupid quest.
