I start walking into a power room. Inside there’s a desk and drawer with a corpse sitting in the seat with its head looking up to the light.

…Poor guy…infected and then impaled by a sharp piece of metal…

The bite marks were prevalent but that didn’t stop him from getting a kill in. That was noted by the fact that the zombie has a pipe in his left hand.

…A real trooper to the end. Killed a zombie or two before succumbing to the infection. Let’s just make sure he doesn’t get up…

I draw my sword and cut off the head, easily before sheathing it again.

…There’s a cargo elevator right there, you know, Carlos. I won’t ask about what you were doing or what’s with the staff for the time being but surprise, surprise. I found you a box of ammo…

I toss Carlos the box.

…12 .500 S&W rounds for your revolver. We will clear this floor and then head for some food on the first floor. Staff quarters are on the 6th floor while showers are on the 7th. After dinner, we can call it a night and then in the morning we can start on floors 11 through 20…

I look at the map and notice some scrawlings.

…Floor 11 seems to be a whole infirmary…it’s like having a hospital on one floor. 12 through 16 seem to be for training in close quarters and firearms combat. 17 through 19 are all labs and test chambers while 20 is fuel and cargo load/offload. There’s even a set of helipads hidden within the mountains. The 20th floor takes us to a path that leads to the various ones. Very nice, Phillip. Here’s what we are going to do. We are going to stop for now and take care of floors 11 through 20 tomorrow. Let’s finish the tenth floor and head to the first for food and then we all can sleep. Staff quarters are on floor 6 so everyone can sleep there. Emi and I will be on floor 4, using Sturmwhatever’s room…

The elevator arrives. We step in and hit the 10th floor button.

The archers aim for a set of flourescent lights above the zombies. The lights break, producing a live current and fall on three of the zombies, electrocuting them until their heads explode. The remnants roar and charge and jogging speed at the group. The melee scouts step forward.

Fighter: West, Abbey, archers…it’s our turn. Fighters, let’s scrap with them since they want it so badly!

The fighters begin blocking and countering the zombies for five minutes until they drop lifeless with brain injuries. One of the archers taps Abbey on her shoulder and holds an extra bow in front of her. It’s a cherrywood composite bow with a 1.5x sight above where the arrow is fired.

Scout archer: Someone must have been an ace with this. Have it. It’s got a low magnificationzoom scope on it.

The elevator opens on the sixth floor. From it comes 6 men and women armed with bows and melee weapons. They walk behind Abbey and West.

Scout Archer: We’ll give you some backup on this floor since we all want our showers as well. I’m sure you heard it too.

In two of the large rooms of the staff quarters, there are groups of eight or nine zombies with weapons for close quarters.

The men from floor 5 take the elevator to floor 6 where Abbey and West are waiting. I signal Miguel and Phillip to come along.

…After the tenth floor is complete, we will head to the fourth floor to get changed, and sleep….

I whisper into Emi’s ear.

…If we do any sleeping, that is. The scientist’s room must have pretty good stuff…

…You’re right. We might have to spend the night here since this will take more than a day to clear out and search. We get the special bedroom on the 4th floor. That’s probably the Sturmwhatever’s room…

I walk out after drying myself and get my pants, socks and shoes on. The shirt needs to be washed. I don’t really mind hunting zombies shirtless. Emi might be focused on me more than the zombies though…maybe not…zombies turn people into zombies so I think killing them takes priority.

…Shall we head for floor 10 then?…

I spot a clip of ammo and pick it up.

After I get all this dirt and blood off of me, I waltz right into Emi’s shower stall and begin washing her, beginning with her chest.

I laugh for a moment and get out of my clothes to shower.

Little did Emi know that I had bigger plans for her. She’d know once I start washing her chest.

I smell shampoo and the like and then look at myself.

Miguel hears the conversation and gets on the loudspeaker for our floor.

7th floor loudspeaker: I will let everyone else know that showers are on this floor if they want to take one.

…Okay, Miguel. Well Emi? Shall we?…

Miguel switches to the 6th and 5th floor channels.

5th and 6th floor loudspeakers: Attention…Gerald and Emilie have found showers on the 7th floor. If you want to take one, finish up your designated floor and regroup here on the 7th floor.

The sixth floor houses staff quarters. There are four large rooms with beds and storage containers. Items in staff quarters: .45 ACP rounds (Gerald’s M1911) (1 clip, 8 rounds), Used syringes.

The elevator stops off on the eighth floor. Emi, Phillip, Miguel and I get off. The elevator heads down to the scouting team’s location on the second floor and then up to the third floor for Abbey and West.

Miguel: I wouldn’t mind.

…Okay then. Surveillance room, brother. Emi, you’re with me this time. I sense showers…

By the way, when holding a gun in the waistband, the back is where the gun should be placed…not tne front. Think about what would happen if a man had the gun held in the front and the gun misfired…

…Provided Abbey, West and some of the scouting team have had the other two floors below us covered, they should be inside. If they aren’t, they will have to wait for it. We’re heading to the 7th floor. Abbey and West shall take the 6th floor while scouting takes the 5th floor. We will work in a systematic approach until the 20th floor. Miguel and I have that while you and Phillip maintain the surveillance and audio feed. I have to talk to Miguel about something when we get there anyway…

I step into the surveillance room and notice the fallen zombie as well as Emi putting something away.

I step out of the room. Miguel steps in.

Miguel: Two stiffs in the final room. We dropped them and found some ammunition. Gerald has the box on him.

Miguel and I investigate a bedroom.

…Pretty fancy, huh, Miguel?…

Miguel: Yeah, I found some heavy caliber rounds in a gray box. I counted twelve inside.

…What kind of rounds?…

I take the box and look at the label on the other side.

…Carlos could use these. His revolver takes these rounds. They are .500 S&W rounds and man do they pack a punch. Even with body armor on, anyone hit by this bullet would be knocked back due to hard impact. I will hold onto them as a favor to Carlos…

We continue to investigate more rooms but find nothing. Our final room before heading up houses two zombies. One is carrying a machete while the other has a dagger.

…Your choice Miguel…

Miguel: The one with the machete is mine.

…Fine then. Do with him as you please…

While Miguel takes care of that zombie, I look at the camera and then wait for my zombie to try and slash me. At that time, I stop her arm from following through and take the dagger from her. As I push her backward, I drive the dagger from her jaw upwards into her brain. As she falls lifeless, I inspect her and see a necklace with an amethyst in it.

…Emi will like this. Let’s get back to the elevator…
