Topic: Tyrant Unleashed: General / Outrageous Prices

The two things your missing here are as follows: it’s actually more profitable to chase a few fish than many little fish, it’s been proven time and again. The average paying player is more dedicated than you, so your actually playing against players who spend more time and money, so you will likely never catch up.

Uh. No. Getting high profits is mainly done by geting a large customer base and a workable margin. Microsoft sells billons of copies at reasonable prices, look where they stand in terms of success. High class fashion designers have outrageous profit margins, sometimes in the n0000% percent. But they sell maybe 5 or 8 of each model a season. You wont find any of those in the Forbes top 100, even if they had 15k dollar evening gowns produced in SEA sweatshops.

Mass market has the additional advantage of not beind too dependend on a small amount of customers. So you lose 0.000000001% of you income if customer X decides not to shop at Wallmart anymore? Whoot, thats hurting. You develop Formula 1 motors and have two customers, income is good, margin is fantastic. One leaves for another developer. Oh fck, you are ruined. Because you can no longer keep your prices to the other customer, you lose credibility, fire half your staff and therefore fall back on R&D as well. Next season the other customer will most likely leave you as well.

I play WoT by WG as well, didnt invest half the money there over the course of three years like i did on TU in a month, where i am still a very casual gamer and no big spender. In WoT i can play competitive no much how much i spend, i just save on time. Premium items that are cash-only are not superiour to normal ones in terms of competitiveness, they just generate more income and experience. Wargaming has a huge customer base and it ranks among the top 10 most successfull f2p companies. Gee, i wonder why…

You speak of things I can physically hold, look at, sit on, ride in, take my friends out in, whatever takes your fancy. This here? Lol, it’s pixels and little 1’s and 0’s. It’s not real. It’s a FANTASY, an escape.

What is a 60 000$ watch if not a fantasy? What are 9000$ shoes if not a fantasy?

Well, the 60k watch is resaleable, considering the stability of slow but steady rise in the luxury watch market you will most likely gain money from it. Thats one major difference. Also, fancy watches, expensive shoes and shiny cars gonna get you laid more often than a maxed out progenitor.

Topic: Tyrant Unleashed: General / Brawls and new players

Having started recently, i dont have any OP cards, little fusions, few full upgrades, whatever. As should be normal of a newbie who isnt pooring a month wages into the game just to get a minimal fighting chance.
And now there is that funny brawl thingie, my first. Oh how much fun that is, getting my behind handed to me in 90% of all battles by freaking epic commaders with full epic decks. Oh the joy of having no chance at all to better my deck by brawl wins, while those who already have tons of stuff get some rewards they most likely will yawn about and salvage.

Would have been to hard to split this up into some leagues based on maybe commanders? Or overall deck upgrades/rarity? Salvage points spend overall?

My consequence, learning that a late starter has no real chance to catch up? Invest no more money, since it is useless anyway. Other “ftp” games manage to give latecomers a decent chance, this one fails at it. Hard.
