You need 10% for regular bosses. KingK clarified this in a separate thread on the subject, although it was never clearly stated if 10% is also necessary for Faction War bosses or if 5% will do.

KOD Prizes

I suggest mixing it up a bit. Instead of set prize tiers (i.e. x amount of gems for placing somewhere in the top 50), I suggest players be awarded a specific number of “KoD boxes” (but named something better) based on what place they finish. Boxes would contain random prizes similar to an m-box but a bit better.

The obvious outcome to this is allowing players who aren’t routinely in the top 10 a rare chance at obtaining an arena ring. It would also prevent players from attempting to “fix” the outcome to guarantee someone gets the ring (although, I do not think this has been occurring). To avoid very low level players from obtaining the Arena ring too early in the game, perhaps make the drop rate vary by level.

I would also suggest loosening the prize tiers to increase interest in KoD for more than just the small handful of top 50 players (an admittedly self serving suggestion – I’m never in the top 50)
Suggestion for tiers:
Rank ……….Reward
1 ………….. 10 boxes
2-5 ……….. 7 boxes
6-10 ……… 5 boxes
11-50 ……. 3 boxes
51-100 ….. 2 boxes
101-200 … 1 box

Possible suggestions for “KoD Box” prizes:
-m-box
-skill points ranging from 1-10 x the players level
-energy ranging from 20-50
-coins, amount dependent on level
-enhance potion
-skill book
-arena pass
-dust
-guardian dolls
-KoD passes – good for an additional KoD attack when used
rare drops:
-arena ring
-gems in various amounts from 1-100
-max tier weapon/armor for level, extended
-one random stat
-1% permanent exp boost (max up to 5)
-1 permanent bank expansion (max up to 5)
-1 permanent max E increase (max up to 5)

Heal skill is about as useful as regen armor. It’s only use is to let you hold down “s” when soloing low level bosses. You could have a heal 1000x stronger and that’s still all it would be good for. A 1-hit boss is still a 1-hit boss no matter how good the heal is.

For any boss who can one-hit you, Guardian’s super-block/heal combo is inferior to Huntress’s block/visionscope combo on a damage per E basis, no question about it for all classes.

Lilith’s block/protect aura combo is useful in situations where the PA is needed to survive a hit. Guardian may help you block an extra time or two, but you’d still get hit and die eventually where lilith would keep you alive. In these situations, Lilith is infinitely better on a damage/E basis.

If you want to pay 72 gems to be able to hold down “s” to solo weaker bosses instead of having to stop to heal manually once or twice, then go for it. But sadly, that’s about all Guardian is good for. It should also be noted that, in most circumstances, you could do the same with any other ally who has a heal even if it is 3x weaker.

The lack of a heal is why Gabriella has been such a good addition. She’s basically Valk/EP rolled into one and free Isendel travel as a bonus. As good as Gabriella has been, Guardian has been equally disappointing. Personally, I’ll be taking a pass on Guardian; I suspect I won’t be the only one.

Is there a way to eliminate the need to hit “c” when using the ally switch hotkey? Needing multiple hotkeys to perform a task kind of defeats the purpose of having hotkeys.

King of Duels:
There seems to be a bug with KoD, at least on chrome. There is no animation for duels so cards can’t be selected to be played. Only option is to skip by leaving the duel screen. This is why I wasn’t sure if duels were automated or not.

Guardian ally:
I can’t see a situation where Guardian would be useful.
-An extra 6% block over other allies is nice in theory, but by itself it isn’t too terribly helpful since it’s on the second roll, making it more like 1.2-3.6% additional block overall. I think any sane person would rather have Huntress’s +14.8% damage boost or Lolith’s PA to survive bosses sooner coupled with copy and a slightly weaker block over Guardian’s slightly better block and heal skill.
-Heal is a fairly useless skill, no matter how strong it is. No one gets hit by a boss and waits for their ally to heal while hoping they don’t get hit again and die first. Heal is only marginally useful when hitting a lower level boss so you can spam “s” without worrying about having to heal; but most lower level bosses can be hit for 10% or even killed outright without much effort, so even here it’s of limited use.
If the 3rd skill was more complimentary such as Protect Aura or Weaken, or if she were to have a 4th skill, you might have some takers.

So far great update, but not sure about this one:

Mystic War damage absorb cap raised to 800M.
-But Wonder HPs still seems to be 2b. This one’s a bit of a head scratcher since the consensus is that they die too fast already.

Also, not sure about King of Duels:
-Seems the outcome of a contest happens behind the scenes? Other than choosing deck, we have no control over winning? I’m fine with this, btw, just checking that it’s not bugged.
-Too easy to farm wins. All you have to do is find one person you can beat and beat them 20 times in a row. Either: a)opponents need to be chosen randomly, or, b)there needs to be a limit on how many times you can beat a particular opponent in a given day, or c)all of the above
-I think random opponents from a player pool within a range of 20 or 30 ranks above and below you seems most reasonable with a 3-5 win cap on any particular player.

“Z” and “D” hotkeys don’t seem to be working

Kudos on the free Isendel travel. It feels so… liberating (as will the hotkeys once they’re fixed)

Topic: Dream World / About New Updates (May, 2014)

since the h1-3 and h4-6 expansions were for lv 92 and lv 96, respectively, it stands to reason that h7-9 will be for lv 100+.

This also goes along with KingK previously saying that the delay in releasing h7-9 was due to not enough players of high enough level to take advantage of it.

For me, the draw to DW has always been the ability to play without any major time constraints. It’s great for playing while multitasking by allowing you to play for 10 minutes, get drawn away, then come back 15 minutes later without it being a big deal. Implementing a turn-based card game will ruin all that.


It will not be nearly as complicated as Time World’s War of Heroes. All the strategy will be in the team selection/placement and the battle will be short and automated. It’s similar the arena tournaments in Dragon Era, but with a bit more strategy/details.


Thx for shedding a little light on what’s to come, sounds not so bad after all.

I’m also excited about new allies and free isendel travel. And bank/gameplay improvements are always warmly welcomed. Any chance of ally switching being more streamliined?

With H7-9 around the corner, I’d like to re-submit the suggestion that the drop mechanics be changed so that all 5 top finishers have at least a small chance at extended gear. Instead of 20% for the top finisher, perhaps 8/4/3/2/1% for the top 5, or something along those lines.

As is, the hell expansions promote doing a solo run through all 3 bosses and are detrimental to cooperative guild play.

I’d also like to suggest (or re-suggest in some cases):

- Ally hotkeys, or at the very least, either smaller ally images (so they can all be seen/selected without having to scroll) or the ability to organize the ally list to put most commonly used ones at the top. Seriously, does anyone actually use Eli? because she’s taking up a prime piece of real estate.

-Talisman hotkey so it can be used from the bank. Would eliminate accidental selling and free up inventory space for armors, healstaff, rings, dolls, or dusts. “D” key makes sense since “A” and “S” are the attack hotkeys.

- instead of bank expansion after bank expansion, maybe offer stackable bank and inventory spaces. Would make it a lot easier to use dolls vs 1-hit bosses if you could have a stack of several in your invo instead of having to go back to the bank to get another one every time you get hit.

- Maybe a little late to suggest, and I may be in the minority, but please don’t make the new mini-card game anything remotely like the one in TW

Card confirmation requirement:

Can it be made so that the notice that pops up when a card is found requires clicking/confirmation before going away? When speed grinding, currently the spacebar makes the notice disappear.

As more and more cards are collected, it quickly becomes difficult to know what card was found just by checking current inventory. Also, some people might want to copy text or take screenshots of card finds which is impossible if the popup is inadvertantly closed.

Thx for the clarification, KingK. I’m just a bit OCD so collecting them all might be fun.

Also, is there any thought to having cards with different features, like damage boosting cards or cards that do things similar to ally skills? That might add a level of strategy for players to be able to choose a set that best suits their needs.

Agreeing with Thariel, changing the drops in Hell areas to give a tiered chance at extended for all top 5 finishers would be helpful.

As is, the coin reward is better for 6th+ finishers unless you get extended, so only 1st place has a chance at beating out coins. In the current mechanic, often someone solo kills h1-2 then rages h3 and does 401m dmg to it, leaving little incentive for anyone else to hit, aside from badges. Fame does not incentivize h3 because there is still a substantial e-requirement for most players to hit hell bosses for 10% making fame more efficiently obtained from Mystic Mines. A small chance at extended gear for 2nd-5th place would be appreciated.

If the extended droprate for 1st place is currently 20%, I don’t see the harm in changing it to something like 10/4/3/2/1.
