i think you’re missing the real point here, Racefan. we’re complaining about games with “energy” limits, which you can only play for a few minutes per hour, unless you pay extra on a per MINUTE basis, receiving badges that would take months to complete ONLY because of “energy” limits!

-repeat a MILLION times…just for a 30 point badge…

if it was 100,000 raid damage i wouldn’t be complaining so much, but 100,000,000?! for a 12 attacks per HOUR game?!

the very idea that anyone would pay even 1 penny for something so lousy makes me sick…Kong should be ashamed to have something that bad on their Site, much less badges…and now they made it a “featured” game? so it pops up on their homepage?

i said this in a comment: how much did they pay Kongregate for that?

for the last 2 days, i keep getting some sort of error that causes Internet Explorer to restart when i try to load the game. i don’t know if it’s some sort of problem with Kong API, or if something in the advertisements is the problem.

this has happened with many games, no pattern at all. sometimes it will happen the moment the game is loaded, up to 3 times, then the game will work perfectly after that!

this is a recent problem, which has never happened before, and ONLY on Kong!

just look: the latest badge is REDICULOUS! 100,000,000 million damage-in a game that requires energy PER ATTACK!! 1 million i could understand, but a HUNDRED? it would literally take MONTHS to get that badge-even if you did nothing but play that game 24/7!

the very idea of having to pay so much energy just to attack an enemy ONCE, so it literally takes HOURS to kill ONE enemy, is just plain idiotic! this THING should never have gotten ANY badges!

this thread reminds me of a magazine article “why bad games happen”:
reason #1 “licences that kill”-that is, having to pay lots of money to the movie people for the licence means less money to actually make the game.
reason #2 “feature creep”. the people in charge kept changing their minds about what the game should be like…

i think that article was written by one of the makers of Superman 64-often called one of the WORST games ever made…

Reason #3 stupid co-worker…one guy was so lousy at coding it took 2 other people full time just to fix all his mistakes…

there are some good Star Wars games around, like Rogue Squadron and some of the later Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games. (the early ones were lousy) Jedi Academy is one of my favorites.

tips: you can’t charge up the soldier’s “buff banner” by shooting a Tank. Tanks are also immune to Mad milk and Jarate.

i heard that the Sentry busters appear when a sentry reaches a certain number of kills-or is it damage-and they will keep coming till they succeed…BUT it’s sometimes possible to put a sentry in a spot that’s hard to reach (by standing on top of your dispenser) making the SB run around in circles…

i happen to own a Wrangler-a fancy gadget that allows manual control of a sentry-so i like to use it to make the sentry shoot the giants first.

one more tip: in later levels there will be a tank and robots with a bomb-and they will take DIFFERENT paths! this can be quite nasty if you’re not prepared (i.e. a bot might sneak past while everyone is shooting the tank)!

i get really tired of people saying that in chat-especially since you can look at the top of the chat window and see how many people are in that specific “room”. my favorite room usually has about 210 people!

on the other hand, it always makes me think of an old cartoon: someone’s car breaks down, so he walks into a “fun house” that’s closed for the season…he yells “anybody here”?

this reminds me of an obviously hacked score: the game was Ragdoll avalanche (or was it ragdoll laser dodge? definitely ragdoll something): in that game you score points based on how long your character stays alive.

and this guy supposedly scored 999,999,999 points in only 2 seconds! so obvious it gives hackers a bad name!

this has happened several times: i’m playing a game, everything is working properly, a “look at this” message starts to appear in the CHAT window-and the ENTIRE PAGE TURNS WHITE! and refreshing doesn’t help!

i’ve seen lots of adds for Crystal Saga on other sites: they show the fancy pictures of the female priest or the female rogue-and DON’T EVEN GIVE THE NAME OF THE GAME! i’m really sick of this idiocy of thinking people will play the game JUST because the advertisement has a picture of a scantily clad woman!

is there any way to INCREASE happiness? it went down when i raised taxes, and did NOT go back up when i lowered them, now i’m stuck with 90% happiness-which means 10% less population than max,and 10% less bonus from homes…

one of the hardest bosses i ever encountered was the “Grolgoth”, the giant robot at the end of Rayman 2. the first part is not so bad, but the second part…you have to fly around on a fragile rocket, dodging homing missiles, pick up weapons (you have NO way to attack without the pickups!), half of which are in the narrow pipes, which are half-full of lava, which periodically rises to fill the pipes completely…and worst of all, if you touch the lava or hit a wall too hard, you have to START THE WHOLE BATTLE OVER!! took dozens of tries to finally get it right…

oh, and one of the “jenova” bosses in FF7 is almost impossible unless you know the secret, then it’s pathetically easy: i forget the exact name, but it’s the one just after the tragic death scene at the end of disk 1…the secret? equip one of your characters with the accessory called the “water ring”, which lets him absorb water attacks-you litterally CAN’T lose that way!

Topic: General Gaming / Which Video Game Site is better? Kongregate, Maplestory, WoW, Battleon, Gaia Online, Dead Frontier or Runescape?

i tried Maplestory a long time ago, but i didn’t like it much: partly because it takes too long to reach higher levels, and partly because the Wizard class is WAY overpowered…the second skill the wizard learns always hits the enemy TWICE-making it twice as powerful as any other skill in the game!
if you upgrade that skill and put most of the wizard’s points into Int (need a few points in Luck for equipment) and the wizard will be able to kill enemies 3 levels higher than him with one shot!
but even then it takes hours to level up…

Topic: General Gaming / Why Do People Like Stupid Runescape?

i used to like Runescape because the quests were well done: very clever and funny dialogue, interesting characters, and the most unique use of skills i’ve ever seen-no other MMO i’ve heard of would require you to use Crafting skill and Smithing skill to copy a key to get into a locked room, for example. (if i remember, that quest was called “king of the dwarves”-yes a real example!)

and yes, i quit after being hacked-not just because of that, but because the GMs were and unsympathetic and unhelpful as they possibly could be; they as much as accused me of trying to scam high-level gear out of the GMs!
