Topic: Games / GemCraft vs. Sonny

Both games are extremely well executed, are replayable, you develop your character/skills, have some sort of flavour. Both games make their niche groups (rpg fans/ strategy fans) extremely happy as well, while still being fun for general public.

Personally, i would vote gemcraft, but only becouse I like strategies more, I still think Sonny is excellent game.

Since generall public likes leveling rpgs more, i would say Sonny to your answer, but it will be by a few tenths of points difference at max.

I very much agree with your mentioned comment. Another eason for failure, is that Kongregate never resolved the ranked games, so its impossible to get a game. people just farm wins, and kick anyone high leveled in the normal matches.

The section is questionable: this topic is response to Kongregate kreds.

the topic beying, that a person like me has no reason to buy kreds, becouse:

1) I have all the cards I need, for a game I don´t play anymore, becouse it is not updated up to the demands of pro players. (only ranked is fun, and ranked is dead due to no updates)

2) I am not a donating kind of person. Call me evil, call me whatever you want, but I just don´t throw around money for nothing.

I vote WoW, or Runescape.

Kongregate would have to offer a lot more advantages for members, to justify P2P.

Mind that Runescape P2P is completely different from Runescape F2P, loads more content and minigames, more interesting quests etc. look at runescape wiki just to get a slight idea.

Yes, I know that Kongregate isnt MMORPG, but I want to compare these games, that want to charge your money.

What discourages me from WoW, is that I heard that all of the world below 80 is basically deserted.

500 000 on all eu servers at peak times, (9 mil is worldwide), and until 80 its basically single-player. I would love to play to lower level instances and raids, but it´s impossible, no one cares.

Only game that deserves money is WoW. You really get an amazing game for money with WoW.

No way I would spend the same money on having extra weapon in Think-Think-5whatever, or new tower on desktop defense.

As to multiplayer, both premium games so far failed, and I fail to see how this will help them.

- some areas are more PvP then others, and some areas are more PvE (vs hunger, nature catastrophes) That said – you can´t choose your starting location.

Kongregate is struggling as it is (ppl playing is 13 000 – 14 000 for a very long time now, and actually its often far less then 10 000 online),

and yet they think about forcing ppl to pay real money for some details (I guess it will be unlocking better weapons and armour in otherwise free multiplayer game – like runescape.)

And don´t believe that difference between free and member will be small – if it is small, then noone will pay. The advantages will be massive enough to make some people play.

The time is running out. My ideas should be implemented ASAP, or the game is dead. Most important is reward: IE your cards getting better as they gain experience. Game MUST reward player for his time.

I stopped playing runescape because it drains w/e life you have so you can raise your skills for no reason. I found it a waste of life and addicting. I quit, but I hope you enjoy it.

I know what you mean. One of the reasons I ll play this instead of WoW, is the fact RS won´t get me addicted so much. I ll be able to play it just casually. In WoW you can´t do this, also WoW has got serious money included in hard cash (E).

I just came from the bank, and had the virtual-internet-cash-card activated. (for safety I won´t use main card) Also it will take one week.

I can´t wait until I become member, I think it´s very good value for laughable money (especially since US dollar is collapsing every day).

So I have a week to get ready and maybe study members stuff on runescape wikia.

I played runescape about 1,5 year ago, and although some of the changes since than also punish good players, I love to see the worlds got rid of autoers. I always hated cheaters, and never was much into pvp (I always get owned :D)

Also the community seemed to improved by heaps – 1,5 year ago random people would flame each others, whereas now random people congratulate to each other even if their skilld are quite mediocre.
