Topic: Transport Defender / Beginner Guide & F.A.Q

With the advent of new features and rebalanced stats, some features originally touted as being awesome are now less awesome than they were at the time the guide was written. The ‘Features’ section no longer has an actual recommendation beyond improving your damage/res gains to be able to push farther, while linking to an actual Features guide from another user, to better assist a player in deciding what features will suit them best.

Hi! I wrote a beginner player guide on here. Would you mind if I linked your thread in mine for the features section?

Once more, to the front! ((Also, Lullaby, I do not know how it works. Afaik, it takes the res per second on the wave you leave at and uses the % modifier on that when figuring your offline gains. Higher lullaby levels should mean more resources gained when offline, though it still doesn’t seem too great compared to just letting the game progress on its own).

I agree. I’m only opening around 30k crates per shot, so I can only imagine how long it must take for more advanced players. Having a summary window that says “You got: X Moneys, X Gems and These weapons got MK Upgrades! Yay, go you!” And then have Features/Weapons unlocked be the things that pop up on their own like it is now, since they’re kinda special.

If you’re having awful luck getting weapons, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all! :D

Topic: Transport Defender / [BUG] Fighters and Bombers on Strike!

After testing out the different settings and features, I found something very strange.

The Fighter and Bomber will NOT deal any damage if the Show Projectiles option is set to On. Features made zero difference.

If projectiles are not displayed, then Fighter and Bomber will deal damage, but not even close to the damage they claim to be able to do. Example being the 994 sp damage my Fighter Bay claims to do. With projectiles off, it does indeed kill sector one, but it does so in small chunks. Yes, 994 Septillion damage takes multiple sweeps with projectiles off to do 25 HP of damage. I checked again at later waves and confirmed the same damage rates. It will not ever outright kill a wave, but will take 5 to 6 successive sweeps to kill it.

I am unsure if this news is helpful, but it does at least help identify what conditions the weapon does and does not deal damage in, and I hope will provide at least a reference that will lead to this being resolved.

Topic: Transport Defender / [BUG] Fighters and Bombers on Strike!

A player today told me that Fighter Bay and Bomber Bay were failing to do any damage. Not believing them, I set out to test this for myself.

To start, I have Fighter Bay Mk-14 and Bomber Bay Mk-7. For this test, I transfered cargo and made sure auto upgrades were off. I then cashed in all my crates earned to get more cash so I could purchase one level of Fighter Bay. I would later repeat this step, except with Bomber Bay.

At first, it seemed to be going well. I started on sector 50 thanks to my Jumphole feature. It had no problems killing the wave it was on. However, as soon as that first wave had ended and it respawned as normal, the Fighter Bay stopped doing damage, and it timed out on the boss.

To make doubly sure I wasn’t losing my marbles, I took myself back to sector one. Keep in mind that the fighter Bay Mk-14 says it has a DPS of 994 Sp damage, so it should be instantly melting sector one with its pitiful 25 health.

It has been sitting at sector one, for twenty minutes, and has not killed a single thing. The most that has died is a pair of ships that got blown up by my Heavy Turret by accident. The same issue is present with the Bomber Bay. It initially deals damage on the first deployment, and then fails to deal any damage whatsoever after.

I, and others, feel that this bug may be why many people are suddenly finding the early game to be more difficult than the displayed information indicates it should be.

EDIT

Bug appears to be resolved as of patch 1.15!

It used to be just 10%? That would certainly be terrible! I’m very glad it was changed. :)

Topic: Transport Defender / Containers

Opening a container gives you 10% damage boost for each container opened up. That part is 100% of time, you will always get that.

The chance part, is to get a new feature, MK upgrade, color crystal or some extra Money/Resources.

Seems to be for each multiple it goes up by it also pushes up the damage. I could be wrong though.

Not entirely true. Tsar is a 20% boost versus the 10% that opening the cargo gives, so it’s good to use once you have your weapons and actual features leveled up a bit, but stillw ant something to spend crates on to get a straight damage boost.

True, it isn’t perfect for a new player, but I included it as well since it does help speed up their subsequent runs. I’ll edit it and stick the bit on the tsar in the tips section instead. :D

Transport Defender

F.A.Q & BEGINNER GUIDE

Hello folks and welcome to my first guide ever. Why am I doing this? I’m doing it because I love the hell out of this game and I love to help people! That and I see the exact same questions daily, so I hope this will make things easier for everyone. Onwards, to the Q&A followed by helpful tips and tricks submitted by various players!

Q: What is this game?
A: This is Transport Defender, an Idle Game by IDNoise. It’s the sequel to Death Squad, another Idle Game by the same guy.

Q: I’ve started playing and I get the stuff the tooltips said, but how do I prestige? Is there even a prestige system in this game?
A: There is indeed a prestige system in the game. It’s called “transfer containers”, and to do so, you just have to click on the cog looking button and click the transfer container button. There are a few requirements, but they’re not too steep. The more waves you beat past the minimum, the better!

Q: I’ve prestiged, ‘Transfered Containers’, now I have a bunch of containers. What do?
A: Those are Cargo Containers. You open them or spend them to level up ‘Features’. Opening them up is how you unlock new features! You also get 10% more damage for each one you open up, as well as a chance at getting cash/upgrades to help you out on that play through.

Q: Features?
A: Features are things that you unlock at random by opening Containers. They are game-altering perks that can really change up your gameplay.

Q: Okay, so I have a few. How do I actually use them?
A: Unlocked features don’t start out in-use. To activate them, you have to click on the cog button that you use to transfer containers, and select ‘Order Feature’. The cost goes up as you activate more and more features, and it costs containers to level up the features once you activate them.

Q: Features seem expensive. What are some good ones to pick early on?
A: The best bang for your buck early on is to get your resource production up. That means getting Second Hand Shop is going to be a very safe bet that increases your Resources earned. Other than that, early-buying of features may not do you as much good as opening more cargo containers would, but see the tips/tricks section for what to do after getting all your weapons unlocked! For a more detailed guide on Features, head over to What Feature Should I Get

Q: Resources?
A: Money. It’s what you use to level your guns, so more money coming in means you get to level them faster.

Q: Speaking of guns, what can’t I use them all? I see lots popping up as I go on, but it’s not letting me use them.
A: To get the higher level of guns, you need to unlock the schematics for them first. It’s not as bad as it sounds though, as the schematics come from opening cargo containers. That’s something you’ll be doing a fair bit of in the early game, so you’ll come across them quickly enough.

Q: Okay, so what’s this Overdrive bar do?
A: Overdrive is a Multiplier for your Heavy Turret. You increase how much it’s filled by clicking the screen! The more it’s filled, the more damage your main gun does.

Q: What about the buttons beside the Overdrive bar?
A: Those are Abilities. They provide different boosts to your damage as well as sometimes leveling up a weapon or giving you a few extra Cargo to use, depending on what ability you use. To use all of the damage abilities at once, you hit the space bar.

Q: I’ve used an ability but it’s not letting me use it again! How come?
A: Abilities have cooldowns, short periods of time where they’re not usable again. You just wait for the timer to run out and then they’ll become available again.

Q: That seems too long. Is there a faster way to re-use my abilities?
A: There sort of is! One of your abilities you’ll unlock is called “Quick Load” and will be a very obvious “F9” button among the abilities bar. That lets you reset the cooldown for your abilities. Alternatively, your cooldowns also reset once on wave 50, and every 100 waves afterwards (150, 250, etc.).

TIPS & TRICKS

-Save a few Cargo Containers. Use them when you get stuck on a boss wave, and it may give you enough Resources to level some weapons to push past it! – cretpetpet

-setting auto-upgrades to a rather low number (25 seems best so far) gives you a smooth automatic ride through the first few resets. – Hubuchu

-I’d upgrade slowly and by the next weapon whenever you can, and not go above level 200 until all my weapons are 200. – zzxxzz3

-The Tsar Cannon Monument gives you 20% damage boost per Cargo Container used to level it, but don’t get it til after you have all your weapons! – Kazeto

-Karaoke bar feature is a hidden gem :D – DreamAndUtopia

-Before opening containers export/import game an re-open(import) chest unitl u get feature u need (especialy useful at begining) – DLAKAVALEDJA

Hello!

Just spent 50 bucks on some Kreds to take advantage of the 25+5 Pack deal going on now. In the past, when spending my credits, I got cold matter. This time, not only did I get a massive ton of Common quality items, but I also got no cold matter.
