F.A.Q & BEGINNER GUIDE
Hello folks and welcome to my first guide ever. Why am I doing this? I’m doing it because I love the hell out of this game and I love to help people! That and I see the exact same questions daily, so I hope this will make things easier for everyone. Onwards, to the Q&A followed by helpful tips and tricks submitted by various players!
Q: What is this game?
A: This is Transport Defender, an Idle Game by IDNoise. It’s the sequel to Death Squad, another Idle Game by the same guy.
Q: I’ve started playing and I get the stuff the tooltips said, but how do I prestige? Is there even a prestige system in this game?
A: There is indeed a prestige system in the game. It’s called “transfer containers”, and to do so, you just have to click on the cog looking button and click the transfer container button. There are a few requirements, but they’re not too steep. The more waves you beat past the minimum, the better!
Q: I’ve prestiged, ‘Transfered Containers’, now I have a bunch of containers. What do?
A: Those are Cargo Containers. You open them or spend them to level up ‘Features’. Opening them up is how you unlock new features! You also get 10% more damage for each one you open up, as well as a chance at getting cash/upgrades to help you out on that play through.
A: Features are things that you unlock at random by opening Containers. They are game-altering perks that can really change up your gameplay.
Q: Okay, so I have a few. How do I actually use them?
A: Unlocked features don’t start out in-use. To activate them, you have to click on the cog button that you use to transfer containers, and select ‘Order Feature’. The cost goes up as you activate more and more features, and it costs containers to level up the features once you activate them.
Q: Features seem expensive. What are some good ones to pick early on?
A: The best bang for your buck early on is to get your resource production up. That means getting Second Hand Shop is going to be a very safe bet that increases your Resources earned. Other than that, early-buying of features may not do you as much good as opening more cargo containers would, but see the tips/tricks section for what to do after getting all your weapons unlocked! For a more detailed guide on Features, head over to What Feature Should I Get
A: Money. It’s what you use to level your guns, so more money coming in means you get to level them faster.
Q: Speaking of guns, what can’t I use them all? I see lots popping up as I go on, but it’s not letting me use them.
A: To get the higher level of guns, you need to unlock the schematics for them first. It’s not as bad as it sounds though, as the schematics come from opening cargo containers. That’s something you’ll be doing a fair bit of in the early game, so you’ll come across them quickly enough.
Q: Okay, so what’s this Overdrive bar do?
A: Overdrive is a Multiplier for your Heavy Turret. You increase how much it’s filled by clicking the screen! The more it’s filled, the more damage your main gun does.
Q: What about the buttons beside the Overdrive bar?
A: Those are Abilities. They provide different boosts to your damage as well as sometimes leveling up a weapon or giving you a few extra Cargo to use, depending on what ability you use. To use all of the damage abilities at once, you hit the space bar.
Q: I’ve used an ability but it’s not letting me use it again! How come?
A: Abilities have cooldowns, short periods of time where they’re not usable again. You just wait for the timer to run out and then they’ll become available again.
Q: That seems too long. Is there a faster way to re-use my abilities?
A: There sort of is! One of your abilities you’ll unlock is called “Quick Load” and will be a very obvious “F9” button among the abilities bar. That lets you reset the cooldown for your abilities. Alternatively, your cooldowns also reset once on wave 50, and every 100 waves afterwards (150, 250, etc.).
TIPS & TRICKS
-Save a few Cargo Containers. Use them when you get stuck on a boss wave, and it may give you enough Resources to level some weapons to push past it! – cretpetpet
-setting auto-upgrades to a rather low number (25 seems best so far) gives you a smooth automatic ride through the first few resets. – Hubuchu
-I’d upgrade slowly and by the next weapon whenever you can, and not go above level 200 until all my weapons are 200. – zzxxzz3
-The Tsar Cannon Monument gives you 20% damage boost per Cargo Container used to level it, but don’t get it til after you have all your weapons! – Kazeto
-Karaoke bar feature is a hidden gem :D – DreamAndUtopia
-Before opening containers export/import game an re-open(import) chest unitl u get feature u need (especialy useful at begining) – DLAKAVALEDJA
