Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Player made Data sheet

Expanded the pretty old “Rare Ressource” spreadsheet, including fixes (especially price values are outdated on a large scale inside “Item List”, knarfbot usually has the current ones), missing entries and new columns.
In these new columns it can now tell you which is the most efficient “pure” and “impure” use to make gold with rare res or which unlocks each item has.
What i was working on now was a recap of the best prices for each rare res and maybe what best “impure” value collides with another (using same rare res) – Stay tuned on sheet 2 for this. ;)

Commentary is enabled, for bug fixing purposes.

Before my spreadsheet gets added back into the master spreadsheet, i would like to give everyone about 1 month (from posting date) to report any types of mistakes/issues/bugs concerning the spreadsheet. That should be an ample amount of time to fix everything.

Some questions remain:
Who do i contact to get it added back into Master Spreadsheet?
Also… how to reduce space left & right in each column, inside google docs? (although that is just cosmetic on my part and has to be done again when adding it back inside Master Spreadsheet)

Update (5h after posting): resizing of each column complete (everything 1 line big now, rawr!), some missing entries added, some errors fixed – enjoy.

Update (7h after posting): Recap (2nd sheet) complete as well – some surprising infos there. Also added an example calculation for fun, more errors fixed.

The topic was made on directly purchased cards not the “getting them by luck”, also how would you get 100k arena points easily if you fail to BUY or GET any good cards beforehand, your win rate will be less than 25% and you will easily spend way over 4 times the required coins to shuffle new opponents.
That would reduce the max. amount you state of gainable DPs to less than 150, that’s like 2-3 cheap directly purchaseable Bam Legends (possibly 1 good).

Any change to economics in a game is unfair to some or other. Since nothing we purchase is owned by us (by Terms of Use) we shouldn’t really care, according to KonamiKG. ;)

i see the same problem with how Konami / Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise does it in every media: anything released later is better/stronger than anything released before.
Giving everyone headaches why we should even buy anything of it at any point in time. Since this concept keeps players paying, it’s copied from every successful card game wherever you go.

So all is good – as long as you ignore the playerbase.

We tried having both of them move to a public city and having both of them invited to another private city. The first one to go can always leave and the shop goes back to a signpost. The second one can never leave. They show up on the Contributors page with an image of the same shop as the first person that just left, even though the city map shows a signpost. I get in-game error code #928435 when I try to kick the second one from the Contributors page.

That’s an issue they can fix easily, write a ticket about it via edgebee.com (best logged in), await a fix within 1 week, possibly + some days. If you are lacking a edgebee.com PW try migration option, it will send the PW useable on edgebee.com into your ingame mail box.

They do still work on S&P2 and Card Monsters, but i highly doubt they take anything in consideration except bug reports received by their ticket system. ;)
It’s just how they do things: Ignore everything except when there is a major game-breaking bug.
Also they add noticeable things from time to time, usually in the matter of… months. Since playing takes months anyway, it fits… somehow. :P

There is the overall balancing what rarity cards are available for specific currencies, currently that is:
Common 318/38/0
Rare 49/177/55
Ultra Rare 0/0/221
Bam Legend 0/0/105

As in:
Coins/Card Pieces/Duel Points (Coins/CPs/DPs)

I would personally like to see an increase of Coins & Card Pieces usage and also make DP exclusively give Bam Legends and not EVERY ultra rare as well. >_>
Beside that being able to purchase at least 10 Bam Legends with Coins and Card Pieces each (20 total for none-DP) would be another nice addition.
As example it could look like this (Variant 1):
Common 296/50/10
Rare 60/201/20
Ultra Rare 30/100/91
Bam Legend 10/10/85

An even heavier decrease of DP usage would be (Variant 2):
Common 306/50/0
Rare 60/221/0
Ultra Rare 50/171/0
Bam Legend 10/10/85

But since KonamiKG / Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM Devs won’t be allowed to do so in a “We must reach the 1000% profit margin”-state of the art company – this will likely not happen.
If it would, there were still plenty enough of sales flying through news every day to make money just from that.

Never-Paying players have nearly no chance to gain Bam Legends or even make a whole deck from just those unless playing/grinding actively for half a year or longer.
Have been playing 4 months or longer and only got like 11 Bam Legends myself (daily login included). Only one of those was from Coins Booster Pack everything else purchased for DP (with 3 times using small amounts of Kreds), those booster packs cost me circa 2 million coins btw. (that is the equivalent of 40 days of getting 50 insect cards). Even worse: less than 5 of those Bam Legends were for free DP, rest had to be kred-purchased.

And yes i know about the possibility to win with just common decks, rare decks or … ultra rare decks. But i’m talking about the simple possibility of aquiring them, not how effective they are.

Story Progression is also such a nice thing to get cards: just get stuck somewhere and there is 0 income of cards from that point. Mostly happens in series 2 when pain-stakenly having finished main story of Series 1. Replaying battles only awards mostly-useless amounts of coins or stars (haven’t seen 1 good reward from those yet).

There is always the same reward inside for each line: coins, gems, customization item, bush bucks. As far as bush bucks go there is always 6 of those in each chest. coins & gems vary by how high lvl the chest is, customization item are different from each other of course. That’s about it.

No such list, i guess we just have to rely on people being honest as you only get a reward ribbon so there would be no gain from winning more than once

You would be surprised how many people are just doing something dishonest for the sake of doing it. PvP games are a good example: as long as they win something and if it’s just satisfaction of ruining everybodies day, they do it. 1st on list should be “toomucheffort” from previous thread, after that all that won 1st rank via this thread. If you can’t remember maybe there is a post (change)history mods can check?

One tiny problem with the list is: if people stop playing, they won’t bother to say “take me out of it”, making the list unnecessarily long and letting active players wait on a 1st rank forever. With 24 entries we are already at 24 weeks / nearly half a year wait time. It would therefore be a good idea to friend PaulaHulse and only have those on list that played recently. Then again… it’s not accurately telling us how long ppl have been on/off (unlike BW2) and many people prefer to play on events only. Another shot at it could be active + highest level. That would at least give those that played game longest, the next 1st ranks. Going by the old thread it would be by how awesome a house looks, but that wouldn’t work as everyone’s taste is usually biased by how good they know a certain someone and beside that it’s hard to say wether someone’s house looks good at all.

Just like there is a collective bug thread for every multiplayer game, this one should come in handy for Card Monsters.
Use this thread to report your bugs, discuss them with others and post work-arounds, wether edgebee support can help / did help and so on.

Also feel free to use tags at the beginning of your post, to notify readers what your post is about beforehand, examples: [Minor Bug], [Major Bug], [Game Breaking Bug], [Bug Discussion], [Bug Reproduced], or others that might come to mind and are actually useful tags concerning bugs.

To start off, i had like to report a bug of my own.

[Minor Bug][Questionable]
When i brought Epic Expansion Pack earlier today, i hit the “Open another booster (for gold)”-button, just to get a Heroic Expansion Pack draw instead. 15.000 gold wasted, if you ask me… if it wasn’t for at least 2 useful cards.
Either that or… something is wrong with my collection count: 6 on Heroic & 4 on Epic (both 0 before), which can’t fit, as i got 5/5 out of each booster, that would mean you get from both boosters randomly whatever one you choose. x_X
Or do we randomly get cards from older expansion packs by buying a newer one? oO

Really am puzzled if this even is a bug from the info available to me.

On the topic of Walls & Flooring:
Everyone knows the problem: You have brought better Walls & Floors, but now you are out of town for whatever reason – Only way to get back customers of supported levels into your shop is to either make money via player market & upgrade everything in your current/own town till those are available (could take up to a month easily…) or join a new town that is actually high enough to support your customer needs.

My solution would be:
If town has no customers that would actually visit the player, he should be visited by all level customers instead.
This at least gives players a fair chance to go on playing, instead of crippling them & having to flood player market.

I’m suffering from this same problem. I switched towns to Ckinaland (pop. 48,000 at the time). After I reorganized something in my shop and returned to town view, population had dropped to 1,000 and only the basic buildings were visible. After a refresh, the population had returned to 48,000, but only the basic buildings were visible.

The game’s rather boring to play when the advanced ingredients do not refresh (their refresh rate is 0).

Took them a whole week to fix my problem… not even giving me a report about it via eMail. Anyway… back to playing! other games… as i’m busy with those now, thanks to this frustrating dumb bug, even lost my login streak over it and one of our members left town for above reason. Well… back to reality. ^^

PS: This post is for all with the same problem, so you know what response time to expect from support (always use support option on their site, WHILE being logged in, you won’t get it fixed otherwise! Use migration option on their site, if you didn’t do so already).

[SERIOUS BUG] Yesterday after being almost finished with game (after hours), my town view changed to that of a just established outpost, without any resident houses/shops and only 6 most basic buildings showing up, giving info on all their past upgrade-donations, but not letting me do anything with them anymore.
As i’m the leader of Alexandria, this is quite a problem, as i can neither give advice, orders nor donate myself.
Personal gameplay still works fine.

Topic: Sorcery Quest / Bug: Starter Medals disappearing

Just wanted to inform everyone that, if you started the game (anew via abandon game option or completely new) and are prompted to create your characters via starter medals (a special window), you can create a character, lose connection to server / close browser page and lose all remaining starter medals this way. This makes playing the game pretty impossible, as it is based on having a proper party at all times (atk/def/heal for example).

In case it is not easily reproduceable – had created my character easily half a year ago and never touched the game afterwards until recently. :P

When kicking players there is a chance to get blurry screens, the next time you look at player’s cards (clicking on their houses or contributor entries). This however doesn’t affect any other gameplay.
Another bug: city view only updates when playing through a day or refreshing page.

Thanks TheCongressman for letting me know. About that double clicking: only works on on-screen chat, not the one with it’s own window. Another suggestion: Put a “View”-button on city view, you never know how many ressources you have without opening shop first. _

How about making a proper chat system? It disconnects every 1 hour (minimum) and doesn’t reconnect, without refresh of page. Also whispering sucks, you have to type it our every single time instead of just saying /w name msg or /r msg. Also being able to hit arrow up and arrow down key to go through your last send messages again, would be REALLY HELPFUL, as it’s a waste of time using whisper right now… having to copy & paste, then rewrite what you just said if you messed up the receiver name.

Topic: General Gaming / The "What was that game called?" Thread

Not found on Kongregate, most likely an old console game: I played a sci-fi game with 4 chooseable characters a long time ago, but couldn’t even find it by checking each game list of consoles on wikipedia… the only things i really remember was that each character had to go through the same maps in a different order (also had some maps that only are used for a specific character) and each could shoot (could even include melee atks), it had a similar graphic to phantasy star and it reminded me of it pretty often (altho this info might be outdated, as my memory of it’s graphic is VERY vaguely). One of the bosses was a tank at the end of a city map (i think that map was even in the form of a blocky question mark “?”), another map had lots of open area with many enemies shooting at ya, green terrain. You also had to play the game through with the first accessable character/s to unlock the others. Sadly i can’t remember what console it was on or if it even was on PC (very unlikely). Can surely be no PS3, GC/Wii or Xbox game or anything newer, as i didn’t have those consoles at that time.

This game has been bugging me for a good portion of my life and i remember playing it with my brother at some point. Really hope anyone can help, thanks in advance.

Topic: Outernauts / Support Issue Thread

Same lag issue here, also born from a memory leak. Only takes about 5-15min before it’s few FPS-lagfest on Firefox. Using Dual-Core PC and haven’t tried it in other browsers yet (as each browser gives a different result for each flash game, usually). Seriously needs improvement for the second most used browser atm (after Chrome).
