Topic: Endless Dream / Known Issues Regarding Saving

I’m going to add to the litany of people with saving problems.

While I understand this is most likely a compatibility issue (I run Pale Moon, which was forked from the pre-Australis version of Firefox,) a single game which won’t work correctly makes me want to rate this down as junk and play the hundreds of other idlers which actually do save.

It’s a shame, because what I’ve played of this game is really quite good. I’ll visit back and re-rate if this is fixed.

Yeah, that is an option. But that reminds me of another issue, game’s GUI freaking lags on my laptop. I have to hold shift after clicking for a couple of seconds until game processes sell action. If I release shift key too early, the game would forget it and perform normal click action (equip item, apply bonus rock, …) and make me look silly. While I hold shift and mass sell stuff, game and Flash in other tabs (for some reason every site needs Flash elements) gradually slows down as if GUI events are piling faster then they are consumed.

That would seriously complicate writing AHK.

I think this is a bug in Flash – or if it isn’t, it’s an easy mistake to make in Flash. I noticed it when playing Creeper World 2 as well – if you hold shift to select multiple units, everything lags until all the clicks are processed. Incidentally, this means I can reproduce your problem as well.

And I’ll +1 the concept of a “sell all unprotected” button – even if I had to take a 20% loss off the nominal sell value, it’d be worth it for the time and trouble saved, ESPECIALLY given the existence of the above bug.

Just to clarify, does re-enabling high scores on this negate “SafeHacking” mode? Similarly, is this the equivalent of using SafeHacking if I click no?

(I clicked no just to be on the safe side – I’ve had safehacking going basically since the Explosion <_<)

I had the same problem. I fiddled with it until the decode came out properly. :P

I have 2 problems, 1 of which is a glitch(?). The first (glitch) is that one of my infinite fortresses is affected by darkness when it shouldn’t be. I have 5 maxed neg voiders which give it 115% neg effect resistance. The only difference between this particular infinite fortress and the other 2 i have (which ARE NOT affected by this) is that it is also upgraded to give its own neg effect resistance.

The second problem is that one of my tech centers was somehow destroyed while farming, even though its completely surrounded by walls. I don’t know if that is supposed to happen, but if so, whats the point of walls in the first place?

1st “glitch”. Is the Infinite Fortress in range of 4 or more of your Neg Voiders? Probably not. This is most likely the reason.
2nd problem: Some enemies can shoot through or over walls. Arias Devastators can cause quite a bit of damage to your inside buildings.

I’m not an idiot, i have checked and it is within range of all my neg voiders. It even says on the purple thing in the top left corner of the unit upgrade screen that it has +115% negative effect resistance.

As for the second problem, all of my units are within range of all my neg voiders so none of them were dark (apart from the glitched infinite fortress), however this particular tech center wasn’t next to the glitched fortress.

Maybe it’s another case of a unit’s inherent bonus overriding a buff? But then if that were the case then it should be consistent with all fortresses. Maybe that single fortress really is just bugged somehow then. And please don’t be like that other guy recently who thinks that people giving basic suggestions to be sure to cover all bases are doing so because they think you are an idiot. Nobody is saying that. We can’t presume anything because we have limited data such as not knowing how your base is arranged. It’s basic troubleshooting, like how tech support first says to check if all connections are properly in place.

I got rid of the glitched fortress, replaced it with another one without upgrading the negative effect resistance, and now its working fine. I’m now convinced this is a glitch, since you would think that the fortress’ inherent neg effect bonus would stack with the bonus from the neg voiders, but apparently it cancels it out.

Also, i found that those electric dragoons are the ones hitting past my walls, so now i’ve tried putting a few of my nyons at the back of my base. It slows the boss kill time, but if it means i no longer have to fork out another 1.1m for another tech center, i’ll live with it. Still, I don’t like the idea of enemies ignoring the walls, because then you might as well not bother with them.

I had the same experience with my own infinite fortresses – I had 115% resist on it, and it was getting hit by darkness. I’ve changed them out with new ones that didn’t have the negative resistance upgraded, and they aren’t getting nailed anymore.

Also, I’d like to give a highfive to kidgamez for doing “premium content” the right way.

I didn’t even know there was premium content until about 8-10 missions in. I just didn’t notice it. After looking at what was available, it was just bonus non-story levels, bonuses to rare drop rates (which means they are available without paying, just rarer) and a few extra units that aren’t required to complete the game itself. The game hasn’t nagged me to get the bonus content once.

This is the right (and respectful) way to do premium content, and if I had the kreds (or money,) I’d get it right now. Other developers should take note.

Blessed careers building up time

I'll point out immediately that this probably won't be encountered unless someone builds up a metric crapton of career potions.

I'm a safeHacker (changed over after my first and only ascension,) so I've got... excessive amounts of spare career points - to the tune of 200 billion or so. This gave me enough career points to raise my fishing career from 20 to 100 off nothing but potions. I also built up plenty of time on my blessings - 800 hours or so. I'm not sure if this was intended, or even if it's actually harmful - if someone builds up that many potions, they probably should get a bonus like this. I'm just reporting this in the interest of full disclosure.

Negative green coins

When forfeiting a quest at the 500k GC level, I was charged 5 million GC instead. This threw me into the negatives. by about 2 million GC.

I’d like to make one suggestion on the attendance boxes. If you happen to get red coins from one and you’re already maxed on how many RC you can get on attendance, there should still be a one-time add of that many (or perhaps double) the RC. For instance, if you pulled 200RC but already had your max of 3000, you’d get 400RC, but only once – so your display would show (for instance) 15400/15000RC. Perhaps it won’t be an issue for a while, but at least it’ll make it so people with maxed attendance RC don’t end up with a 40% chance of being screwed out of their reward.

I ascended once legitly, but only went to 9000.

After doing that, I just decided to say “to hell with it,” turned on safe-hacking, and had fun with my savefile. I’ve still got the legit one (just after ascending) set off to the side, in case I ever decide I want to play for real again. ;p

On top of this, I’d suggest seeing if you could get your mastery to 95% – it allows you to more consistently do an absurd amount of damage. I topped out at 160B myself, but I wasn’t particularly trying (no combo, no power ring, etc.) Hopefully if more people use this technique, Kong will stop wiping the high scores off the table, and we can actually compete instead of staring at the piddly 40-50B scores. ;p

(On second thought, attack% is the same slot as mastery. Fail.)

(The channel may still be there – if there’s suddenly more interest in it, I could check)

Currently 16 of 41 people in Remnants of Disputed Galaxy are anti-idlers

We did try this a while back. It didn’t really work for the reasons you mentioned, along with the inhabitants of that room being a bit hostile towards the AI people. ;p

As for how “Just Chatting” got its own chat room, it’s marked as a multiplayer game on Kong, apparently. Not sure what that’d entail, though.

Eh. Nerfs happen. They’re a way of life on a game like this*. What I’m really worried about is stuff like losing all the cards I had saved up, adventure refills, stuff like that – things where I saved stuff up because I expected them to be worth saving, only to find them suddenly gone.

.* Also, I’m running 1406 and the progress boost nerf is already implemented as far as I can tell.

True enough. I don’t even know how he’d be comparing the Actionscript, but I’m sure it involves a lot of manually comparing and deciphering the code. It was more an acknowledgement of the value of his work and my annoyance at losing stuff in a few of the past updates. ;)

Easiest way? Continually activate and deactivate the fighter career. 100xp each time, if I remember right.

Of course, this isn’t the cheapest way, but it’s the easiest way. 100xp per two clicks. ;)

I’ll bet that instaprogs won’t count for that exact reason.

I’d hope they are included. If they were counted as half-progresses even, I’m sure they’d be used. This would give a bonus to the anti-idlers, but not leave mostly-idlers out of the loop.

If instant progress didn’t count at all, I suspect far fewer people would use this; I know I wouldn’t, simply because I don’t have the time to hang around AI for more than a few minutes at a time. This is the reason I don’t use features such as the arcade or stadium much either – it requires an investment of time that I can’t handle.

tl;dr version: Slightly gimping idlers = cool. Making it so they can’t use a feature without significantly changing how they play/how much time they spend = not cool.

Windowshade Mode Graphical Bug

This is fairly obscure, and I only stumbled upon it by accident. I went idle in the mystery shop for some reason, the windowshade/speed/whatever mode popped up, and left me with the odd picture in the screenshot. Doesn’t break anything, but it sure looks weird!

I seem to recall Tukkun saying “Oops, I forgot to utilize the blank space below the main window…” somewhere.

I have a suggestion for using that space; allow someone to click on the career bar, similar to what can be done with achievements currently, and track the progress of the career. Especially useful for careers like fighter where you may want to watch it level in real time.

Battle Arena Dark Mage Wand Incorrect Type

The Dark Mage wand in the BA “Ye Olde Shop” shows that it is a sword rather than a wand. I don’t have the points to purchase it, but there is presumably an error here – either in that it is just showing the wrong type, or that it may actually be the wrong type for what it shows.

A screenshot is probably unnecessary – just go to the white shop and mouse over the wand.

The pre-explosion minimum was 500 for a level 1 gem, and the maximum was 2500. I’ve been fooling with the lolmarket, and it seems like the new level 1 minimum is 450. Not sure about the maximum, but it’s more than 2500 now – possibly 4500? (i.e. 10x minimum = maximum)

I figure the values would scale right down the line, so that would make the maximum for a level 10 gem as high as 45000 (!)
