oh and that loadout cooldown is more than likely the cause of failed loadouts, where the loadout doesn’t work unless you press it again and by that time it’s taken 2x the energy.

I can agree with that statement darth, this ship is great at defending your base imo, and killing structures – the turrets. I was playing a match against sky with some more than decent opponents on teh enemy team, I was protecting our emitter to get an edge and every time one would appear on my screen i’d flip out my switch blades and they go “SHIZ, this boyas got a knife an he’s gonna cut us!” while turning their ship around and ABing away. If the devs want to give us something to make this ship even better i’d suggest the ability to do a fast ship spin, like press switchblades after they are already out and then you do a fast 360.

are you possibly in need of using your shift or a double right click? that might be a potential problem?

Tbh this matchmaking really needs some more work devs, i mean i’m getting around 2 or 3 elo rating for winning a match but whenever I lose a match it’s -7. This is slightly ridiculous because being a high rank i get a team full of nubs that happily fly into the enemy base one after the other to help the enemy team feast to lvl 15, EVERY SINGLE MATCH.

Tbh by the time the ant has gotten behind to the enemy rear emitter he’ll have lost quite a bit of energy just running his afterburner, and the rapid firing of his weapon in an attempt to destroy the turret leaves him with incredibly low energy, all someone has to do is show up and then the ant’s goose is cooked. If you see a green arrow flying by deep into your base then it doesn’t really take much brain power to fly back and defend that emitter.

Hmm, too bad about the end of the teaming feature. Will there be any real balancing of non-team games btw? I love my high rank with the minor exception that I am always teamed with the absolutely new and fresh nubs. Will there be any change to this?

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Vorp!] Several basic steps to stop being a hated noob at Vorp!

Now in this small brief little guide I have several of the most important tips that will transform a once average player into a fierce vorper!

Tip #1- DO NOT FEED THE ENEMY – In this game a feeder is someone who dies repeatedly to enemy ships. Dying to an enemy ship will give that enemy a large portion of exp which will result in the enemy team reaching a higher overall level much faster, thus making them much harder to win against.

Tip #2- DO NOT BUMP YOUR ALLIES – Bumping allies is a result of flying your ship directly into one of your allies. Bumping can be highly annoying in this game due to the fact that it pushes your allies out of their current path of flight and slows them down by greatly for a few seconds. The most fearsome part of bumping is that it can result in the accidental aiding of enemies by pushing a weakened ally into their path of flight.

Tip #3- DO NOT AFK – Going afk in a game of vorp can be devastating for your own team. As a good game of vorp lasts approximately 15-30 minutes, going afk for just one minute in a 15 minutes match means you missed out on 1/15th of the game you are playing. Also it means in that time the enemy has continued to grow stronger while you remain weak, so upon rejoining the game in your weak state the enemy can easily feed (see tip #1) upon you.

Tip #4- ATTACK – In a game of Vorp! on the current standard map, the enemy can enter your base in three different ways which can branch off into more routes and be difficult to find until they reappear on your map attacking a battery/shield/emmiter/turret/base. By the time you might be able to react in proper defense they can already deal a good amount of damage or even destroy that key point. Thus the best defense in this game is a good offense. If a vorper is attacking an enemy turret or a key point the enemy will most likely not take kindly and try to repel you. In this situation they are now forced to defend or have their key point destroyed, and if they are defending then they are not attacking.

Tip #5- RETREAT – In a game of Vorp! it is key that one destroys enemy key points such as their batteries/emitters/shields. Attacking a battery or one of the 2 big shield walls you can be expected to be in firing range of turrets for most ships. In this situation constant firing of weapons and damage from turrets can easily escalate to the point when your extremely vulnerable. Do not let yourself be in the position to be easily killed by enemy ships my fellow vorpers! Rush quickly back to your depot and regenerate before coming back to finish the job. Also one can expect enemy vorpers to rush to repel borders once you are attacking a key point so while you are destroying the enemy key’s point be on the ready for a quick retreat lest you end up as feed for the enemy team. Conservation of energy for retreat or a depot jump ops is highly advised.

Tip #6 – STICK TOGETHER – Sticking together in a game of Vorp has great advantages. It becomes easier to kill off a single enemy opponent as a group of two than it is alone. It is also easier to destroy an key point as a group rather than a solo (there are exceptions depending on individual skill level when it might be faster and safer to go solo but in general groups are better.) Also in the final part of the match when the enemy core shield is down grouping helps keep everyone alive longer while on the offense (see Tip # 8

Tip #7 – EMITTERS – The shield emitter is in my opinion the 2nd most important key point in the game under the core. The quick destruction of enemy emitters can render them helpless as the game moves into the final portion of the match.

Tip #8 – DESTROY THE ENEMY BASE – In the end of the game when your core shield is almost depleted and the enemies core shield has already been depleted it is key to attack and attack as a group. Attacking as a group will increase the chances of annihilating the enemy base core. Do not stay and defend the base “because the core shield is almost down on ours,” just ATTACK. Attacking the enemy core has a greater winning chance than protecting your own base core thats is still barely shielded.

After reading these tips on how to play Vorp! you now have gained insight to play more professionally so carry on my fellow vorpers!

Topic: Realm of the Mad God / Wizard or Priest?

I would say wizard all the way. A wizard is a more than powerful class and after a little practice you can master the art of spell bombing :P getting it exactly on the target or even partly does more damage than any class can do in an instant. I can easily finish a sphinx solo in under 2 minutes with my beloved 8/8 wizzy. Also, if you do your job and keep your range then you won’t be experiencing this “constant death.” I find priest class annoying since i can’t do nearly enough damage while i do have a ton of healing to make up for it. Unfortunately it always seems like i have to heal everyone since one person is always following me going heal please! not only do I find this annoying at times but i’ve know some people simply rage if they don’t get their damn heal. choose Wizzy all the way!!!!
