If enough people report the same person, we can dig into the data. Some times someone seems like they have infinite bombs, but they won’t do damage is the server doesn’t think they have that many. We’ve found a number of new hacks (thanks to you guys) and we should have them patched up soon. (effing hackers)

How many of you get a black screen after you download the latest, before you get to the main menu?

We are having a lot of trouble tracking it down.

If you get it regularly, could you please try going to “chrome://plugins/” in your browser, and setting Unity Web player to “Always Allow”

We’ve had good reports.

I assure you we won’t be using forum posts for refunds. We can query the player database and see who bought the upgrade during the time it wasn’t advertised correctly. We already stripped the sensors off everyone and restored their z-cash. If we do upgrade the upgrades, we’ll let you keep them ;)

Good ideas in here. Also a number of bugs. Let me elaborate.

The Unity lightmapping is having issues. We are fixing it (again) now. Suggestions like — the game is too dark/bright to play — are bugs. They are awful and will be fixed.

Suggestions to turn off / limit effect to restore performance — that isn’t the problem. We can run the game on an old android phone in fastest with 16 players. There are some machine specific issues we are struggling to track down. Some people are seeing them on very reasonable machines and graphics cards. It might have to do with other programs or OS issues, but we are researching as best we can.

No doubt. Its weird. I hope we get to publish our asteroids map soon. Both weirder and easier in some ways.

As for the camera, tell me about your computer, browser, and quality settings (you can msg me privately too.) We have gone to great lengths to smooth out the camera despite latency and performance, BUT, especially on the mac, we are getting variable time frames and its really screwing it. Having certain other programs running on the computer was causing something similar. We thought it was only old machines with no graphics cards, but we are seeing that some really decent machines (4+ core, decent graphics card, lots of ram) are also having jenky framerate, even when the avg fps is over 40.

Please try fastest, and see if its still happening. The transparencies, especially layers of transparency, can really screw with performance on certain machines.

Let’s start a new thread about the color scheme. We are going to try a few things. It was really hard before to make out the heroes by just their outlines, and we hoped we could use more colors to make them cooler, but we agree that knowing team is the most important thing.

The free hero can use every ability. You just needs to clear a few small hurdles (or buy it, we didn’t want to screw the vets). Thats the beginning of our “Medals” system. There will be more to come.

Some of that was the directive handed down to us (stop giving away everything for free), but that was also the original design. Expert gamers might disagree, but when we watch first time users play, they get overwhelmed by all the abilities in their first match. We are mostly done a tutorial for new players, and hopefully by the time they are done with it, they will have their abilities unlocked.

Sigh.

Thank you everyone for the screen shots and (sometimes constructive) criticism.

We can now see what the levels look like for many of you and they are, in fact, dark and with randomly cut shadow maps.

We use a caching system that hides a lot of the data on your machine so you don’t need to wait so long every time you play. BUT, it sometimes means that the developers have cached different versions of the data. Something went wrong in the export process at the final hour, and we published lightmaps that look horrific on a lot of machines.

That is not how we meant to relaunch.

But thanks to you, we’ve tracked it down, and we will get it in the new update. I hope we haven’t lost too many players.

(No, this one won’t take a year, we are hoping to do it tomorrow if not today)

We are hearing from some players that Shuttlebay is way too dark, and from others that its too bright. We are using more modern shaders (ie 5 years old instead of 10 years old) and testing on lots of machines, so I am sure some combinations are just not appearing right. Please try the quality settings, and then send me a screenshot and your machine specs, graphics card, browser, quality settings, etc. We want it to look good for everyone
