Topic: Kongregate / Featured badges (newsletter)

Sorry if anything about it is already clear, obvious or stated elsewhere, but I couldn’t find any information regarding my “problem”.

Every week I receive Kongregate’s newsletter, informing me about new hot games, the new challenge, addition to old games and such. In the bottom right, there are three badges called “featured”. Unless I’m mistaken, I noticed they are the Badges of the Day for the first three days of the week.

Is there somewhere to look for an extended list of featured badges, just to know in advance all seven BotDs for the current week?

Topic: Kongregate / Chat resizing

Hi everyone! I’d want to resize Kongregate side chat pane this way:

· I’d want to fix a total width X so that for every game that is Y wide, the chat pane is aoutomatically set to X-Y

· I’d want to be able to choose the height of the bottom box in which I write the text to send

Do any of you know an extension working fine for these two requests? I did find a Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey one, but I could not make it function the way I want. If it is manageable to do so, can anyone teach me?

Thanks to the whole community, have a great day!

Topic: Dawn of the Dragons / Tips on SP farming?

Relating to SP farming, I have a question about softcap: I’m willing to wait a bit before looting WR so that I can reach the next cap.

Has anyone got reliable and sure data on how much can I wait without it disappearing?

Can I test leaving an average raid killed just before WR so that I’ll immediately loot WR when the other raid disappears (if I still didn’t reach the cap by then) or does anyone know if WRs disappear quicklier?

Topic: Technical Support / Turbo Pack

I annoyed Kongregate support with a mail and they told me what Zshadow said. Basically, the thing you had to wait for the deck editor to be unlocked before inserting the code wasn’t intentional, but I believe it to be an unwanted consequence of the game’s structure. So, Kongregate will give us all who are experiencing this problem our turbo pack, we just have to wait. Plus, they added now a warning on the redeeming page.

As for who didn’t receive the mail, you probably don’t have newsletter enabled. Now the time to receive a code has ran out, but until yesterday on the redeeming page you could ask them to (re)send you the email if it didn’t arrive to you. For the next time, go into your account settings and, on email preferences, tick the box “We send out a newsletter. Really, they’re pretty funny.” under “Notifications”.

Topic: Technical Support / Turbo Pack

Same here. Neither the email newsletter nor the LoH ITem Redemption informative page on Kongregate did mention any instructions at all, so I’m gonna consider this just a technical problem and I expect it to be solved. Personally, I’m playing the game just for badges, but I could last a little longer with the special offer Kongregate does for its members. I’m writing an email to technical support and see what they say.

Topic: Kongregate / How to get Sola Rola working. (Was: How to almost get Sola Rola to work - very close.)

It works! You guys are awesome, I haven’t got words to thank you enough, what you did was a gargantuan work!

If you correctly edited hosts, going to www.gimme5games.com gives you the right message, pinging works and uses the new IP and it still does not work, like it did on me, just try to upgrade your flash player.

In Linux, you just do like this:

· Download .tar.gz from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (select “tar.gz for other Linux”)
· Extract it by going into download directory with the terminal and addressing this command: tar -xvzf install_flash_player_11_linux.×86_64.tar.gz
· Move the libflashplayer.so file you get into your browser’s plugins directory. Examples:
Firefox: sudo mv libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
Chromium: sudo mv libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/chromium/plugins/
And so on.

Infinite thanks again to askon, zAlbee, JimmyCarlos, saneiac and everyone that made this possible!

Topic: Swords & Potions / daily spin reset ....

According to the rules posted by Edgebee in Card Monsters Wiki (I guess those are the same among all four games):

1. Roulette will be available again 23h after your last spin.

2. The Streak Counter will reset if you don’t login for 36 hours.

So, it looks like the time at which roulette is available again isn’t fixed, like if they are in a precise timezone and it resets at 0:00 AM for their GMT, but it depends on when you got it last time (it should be available one hour earlier every day), and you must log in every day and an half to avoid losing your combo. But, in the latest updates log they said something about a roulette glitch they fixed about unmotivated streak resets. Maybe it’s still not 100% solved.

You must report the problem in Edgebee forum, or directly send them a message in some way, because only the administrators and programmers of the game can help you, directly soppressing the bug and getting past the error, or giving you the exact reason this must be happening and telling you how to solve it.

No sweat, making propositions is always a good thing, great ideas can come out. If it was bad, on the other hand, no damage done.

First of all, you can’t make any suggestion using Kongregate’s forums, Edgebee never enters here, unless they have to upload a new game (and when it is being tested, so they have to collect feedback from everywhere, like it’s happening now for Card Monsters).

Then, Sorcery Quest and Sword and Potions are not linkable in any way. Every one of those games have some items the other doesn’t have (in particular, Sorcery Quest have A LOT of items Sword and Potions don’t), but that’s not the problem. The items are priced much different between the two games (if I could sell items in Swords and Potions at Sorcery Quest prices, and buy them from adventurers the same way, then I’d already be the richest, and if I could buy items here like I sell them in Sword and Potions, I could immediately get the best equip and more), but that’s not the problem.

Think about the difficulties you have to get through to get decent things here. Million of fights before you get the right rare drop (→ turns → tokens). Keys to unlock the chests (→ tokens). Some, you can buy in shops but you have to pay with tokens, and not with gold (→ I guess you know). Some other, you have to pay tokens to equip the item (→ again). And again, in Sword and Potions you sell minor seeds of skill for 6865 gold, major ones for 20415 and attribute, and I repeat attribute, seeds for 35060. You’ll agree this is just ridiculous. First, having them unlimited. With the passing of time, you could have full parties of 10 10 10 10 10 10 characters with all level 100 skills. Then, getting them with gold only (not really much too), and not tokens.

In conclusion, why the hell should Edgebee renounce to such income, giving everything for free? Do you have any idea of how much tokens are we talking about, and for how many players? To this, we must add that a link between the two games would distort both making them not fun at all, absurd, completely easy and random, putting away any challengingness, if the term does exist.

Topic: Swords & Potions / Skill Points

Currently I’m just going on ruthless, adventurer and mercantile. Do you advise throwing a few points in famous and silver tongue too? I’ve heard those abilities have a maximum easily reached by shop upgrades. How much points do you think I should put there, if I should? 50 in each? 100 max?

Topic: Swords & Potions / Noob Question

Nope, it’s completely free. All your sales increase your guild’s points in challenges, but go 100% in your safe too. Only if you want you can extra-contribute up to three times your sales (paying game’s gold) to increase even more your guild’s progress to defeat adversaries, but we’ll talk about it only when you have reached a couple of hundreds as level.

Being in a guild is indispensable if you want to get upgrades without spending real money, but gives you bonuses also in thug defense, attack and crafting time for objects requiring more than one craftsman.

Topic: Sorcery Quest / Arena Ladder progression ?

Ladder Experience Points

The amount of ladder experience points gained with each win is based on ranking percentiles, such that beating a ladder team that is ranked in the 25th percentile of the ladder will give significantly more ladder experience points than beating a ladder team that is ranked in the 75ht percentile of the ladder.

1st to 25th percentile = 40 to 50 points (?)
26th to 50th percentile = 25 to 40 points (?)
51st to 75th percentile = 4 to 25 points (?)
76th to 100th percentile = 1 to 4 points
In the event of your defeat, you will gain 1/3 of the points you would have been awarded had you won. The top 3 players in the ladder get bonus ladder points by virtue of their position:
1st place gets you 100 daily ladder experience points
2nd place gets you 50 daily ladder experience points?
3rd place gets you 25 daily ladder experience points?
Note that you do not need to participate in any ladder fights to gain the daily bonus ladder experience points as a ladder leader.

Topic: Sorcery Quest / Arena Ladder progression ?

Well, the points you get for winning depends on the position of the player you have defeated, so I guess you should go as fast as you can skipping all the positions you’re allowed to (of course, picking the higher player you think you can beat).

Ladder points are only good for achievements as far as I know, but I think ladder fights are the only attractive this game can offer later on, when you have finished all the quests. It’s gonna be a long way for me though…

Topic: Swords & Potions / Don't understand the improve thing

You can, paying a shitload of tokens, giving tons of dollars to EdgeBee. So it’s definitely not worth it. Nobody use tokens for what you can get for free or with the game money, you can either join a guild or, if you don’t like the guild thing, just leave the game. You can use your points just to complete quests and build your guildmates improvements. Your guildies can’t use their points to complete your quests.

I know it sucks that you are actually forced to join one, but once in you’ll find it’s very useful. If you find a big guild you will get bonuses from their acquired licenses (increase thug attack, defense, and cooperation – meaning your craftsmen generate more points per working hour and get less penalty for multiple craftsmen requiring object). If you find a guild of people who has just started or are about your level, you can have fun growing together and helping each other.

Why, even if I reached some achievements in my guild, some people that have joined later still don’t have the rewards, seeing lower numbers in the achievement section? Do the personal progress of guild achievements start adding to your total from when you joined your current group?

Topic: Technical Support / Chat rooms conduct

Good morning to all Kong’s community and staff. I just need a clarification about a specific term in Kongregate conduct rules.

http://www.kongregate.com/pages/conduct

In the paragraph “Speak the designated language for the chat room you are in” we can read:

An important note: Multi-player chat rooms are all Any Language rooms, so any language is of course acceptable. This goes for the forums as well, though the majority of our forum-goers use English so as to be understood.

So, what are Multi-player chat rooms? Are the ones of multiplayer games who have dedicated rooms, like Sword & Potions, Clash of the Dragons or Realms of the Mad God
