Oh, I get it. There are eight numbers: 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, and 1. Each number corresponds to a place in the binary sequence, starting with 128 at the first place and 1 at the last. The binary sequence represents a math equation, where simply 0 means add 0 and 1 means add the corresponding number. The sum is a certain letter or number, defined by that chart you showed. So, the capital letter A would show if the binary sequence was equal to 65, according to your chart. The binary sequence is 01000001. Transfering it to a math equation, it means 0 + 64 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 65 = A.

Is that basically what it is?
