No. I thought about it, but somepeople may be limited by connection speeds and such, and I don’t want people to have that sort of advantage/disadvantage. Multiplayer games also give extreme advantages to people that have played the game many times before and know the mechanics off the bat. In a single player game, the same problem can exist with single player games, but the weaker competitors have time to increase their skill level without being punished by losing to the competitors who were born ready to kill.
I also most likely wont be choosing a game like Hell Tetris or Chess for the same reason. Some people are good, but the people that have played them a lot already have a disgustingly clear advantage.

The game is going to be changed to Spikes Tend To Kill You
The objective is to achieve the lowest time possible. The deadline is going to be extended. I am extending the deadline to 5/18/13, 1:00 PM CDT (GMT-5). Back to the same Saturday time, and this makes up for the missed time while Frantic was about. Sorry for the game change :(

Alright, I am going to change the game, I didn’t realize quite how abusable this trick is.

Would people prefer the mode be changed to Survival, still being Frantic 2, or for a completely new game? I will be announcing the result in about two hours.

The trick in this mode isn’t well known, but from what I understand it still involves lots of skill.

Congrats to all of you that have moved on! Time to begin Round 4.
This round is going to 5 days long, and will end on Thursday, May 16th at 9:00 pm CDT (GMT-5)
The game you ask? Well space cowboys, today you will be aiming for the highest score in Frantic 2

The mode you will be competing in is Bosses on frantic!
Extras>Bosses>Frantic
I ask that you please submit your scores in the game, and have the API for “BossesFrantic” showing.
The lowest 8 scores will be eliminated, so don’t get caught behind!

Yeah, I plan to now. Honestly, the main reason I had such long rounds for the beginning was
a) it meant a lot less people would get eliminated for not posting a score
b) I have been busy with finals/AP Tests/End of Year stuff. Now that most of that is resolved, I think I’ll be dropping the length of rounds a bit, unless a lot of people really feel strongly the other way.

This round will end in a week, on Saturday May 11th, at 1:00 PM CDT (GMT-5)

The lowest 8 scores will be eliminated. Not posting a score results in an instant elimination. Those of you that do not post will not be welcomed back in the redemption round.

1) you never should require more then one screenshot ever again, especially in a case like this, when its no neccessary.
2) i could always play the game once and then had to restart my browser, to play in any decent frame rate. very memory intensive game and unplayable for people with older pcs

I agree this round was kind of a mess. I apologize. I haven’t really hosted a tournament before, so I was really trying my best to act quickly. Unfortunately, acting quickly meant that missed the API issues. I’m sorry about your frame rate issues. I dont want to sound like a butthole, but I can’t do much about that

One with the API for Reward, one for Bounty. It’s redundant but I prefer it. Also, you must have the score you want counted visible, as the API posts the best score on the save, not necessarily the best earned during the day/tournament.

One screenshot is fine, but for further screenshots have the API you want to submit open, regardless of whether it is updated. The score used is that in the game screen, as the high scores submits the highest from the save file.

Edit Wow I’m dumb, this game submits your highest score on the save file to the API. I will be going back and adjusting. My fault guys, sorry. The scores in your API are ignored, the scores shown in the photo are used. However, have the API visible in your screenshots so I know what you want submitted. Again, sorry about the mishap >.<

If you tabbed out of the page while moving in one direction, you could pass through walls. This bug is easily abusable to get a decent score, and then manually playing some of the other levels gives you a better than average score. The score I achieved was roughly 1700, and I didnt even attempt to optimize any levels. Everyone still has 5 days to get their scores in, so I think all in all there is plenty of time to cope with the game change.

Because of some game breaking bugs, the game will be changed to Rogue Soul

This round will end Saturday, 5/4/2013, again at 1:00 PM CDT (GMT-5)
The lowest 7 participants will be eliminated. Unlike the first round, people who do not post a score ARE included in this 7.

The objective is to get the highest score possible. Score this round will be calculate by the product of your best distance and your best reward. These scores do not have to be achieved in the same round. When posting your score, the score in the game will be used, not the one displayed by the API, however please have the API for the score you want tallied visible.

Based off this scoring system, my score would be 2872*1025, or 2,943,800.
It is beneficial to have high scores in both categories.

I’ve been alerted of another abuseable glitch. While the glitch does not allow as high of a score than playing game regularly, I am considering a game change. If there is to be a game change, I will post it in the next 24 hours. Sorry to those of you that have already played though the whole game. If the game is changed, the deadline WILL NOT be extended.
