Topic: AdVenture Capitalist: General / How Do You Feel About Free Gold?

definite 3. I like the idea of free gold, but it should be something you have to strive for, not something you get all the time. also, someone pointed out earlier that if you’re going to do it then do it in increments that matter (10 preferably, but 5 if you have to). Giving out 1, 2, 3 gold is just pointless.

Random (or not so random) surges for businesses that are dependent on time of day. New blockbuster movie coming out next Friday? For two hours all movie studios are making 10x profits (Friday night from 8-10pm)! Got a case of the Mondays? From 6-8am this Monday donut shop prices are surged at 5×.

Nothing as huge as the Unity Surge, but it could be a fun, unexpected way to keep people checking in, especially if you have to be “online” to benefit from them.

Edit: Also, someone mentioned Unicorn Farms on the first page. How has this not been implemented yet?

Topic: AdVenture Capitalist: General / Help Improve AdCap

Hola, bonjour, and guten tag

So I’m a fairly new Capitalist (as in, I started maybe one or two days before the crash. Talk about poor timing). Anyway, I’m not sure how useful my opinion will be, but I feel compelled to give it anyway. Some things I’ve noticed about the game so far:

1. When opting to buy 10x or 100x it was confusing at first that they would light up but then I’d only buy 3? What? Took me a hot minute to figure that out. Not really a big deal, but it’s very counter-intuitive for a new player.

2. I hoarded angels for a looooong time because I wasn’t entirely certain what to do with them. I still don’t fully understand them. I’ve read that they increase profits but I’ve also read that they just give you more starting cash when you reset. 2% bonus to what, damn you?! (should also note that I’m really, really, really bad with numbers, so this could just be me)

3. The screen pop-ups (achievements, upgrades, etc) are really clunky and not friendly at all. In fact, they’re kind of jerks. They don’t stay put when you start using them, there’s no scroll bar, and god forbid you scroll down to the bottom of the page and want to get back to the top before the day’s over.

That being said, I started a couple days before the crash. I’m all for pointing out areas that could use some improvement, but I also think that HH recently had a huge success with their Capitalists. Normally I would have refreshed a few times and lost interest after the game crashed. The quick response from the devs though, the surge, the badge, the updates on progress… They kept me around. I have to say, in all my time on Kong I’ve yet to see a developer that’s been so involved with the community (not to say they aren’t out there). Kong gave me some Kreds in Feb 2013 and I’ve been hoarding them ever since, because I’m a hoarder. Figured when I found a game worth spending my precious free Kreds on then I’d do it. Congrats HH, you got all 60 and will probably get more. Keep up the hard work.

Lost my “Survival” plaque – don’t know why. I had it and now it’s gone.

And I too lost a ton of progress. Went offline for roughly 4 days and came back to find I had made no progress and no longer had my plaque. Many tears were shed and sad times were had by all.

Topic: Anti-Idle: The Game / Found a bug?

Meh, apologies ahead of time as I have zero-information on this…

So I found this game a week or so ago… Epic, by the way… Anyway, I’ve been playing when I’m around in the morning and whatnot, and then I’d just switch on idle mode and head to work and come home a few levels higher. Awesome. Unfortunately, today I returned home and had a nasty grey-screen-of-death from Adobe telling me that the flash plug-in had crashed. Didn’t think much of it until I refreshed the page, clicked on my 0 save and got the tutorial back up :/ I’m sure there’s no way to restore my file (because like an idiot I didn’t back it up) but I thought I’d let you know. I’m using FF 3.6.15 and I’ve got NoScript and Better Kongregate running. I’m not all too savvy with computers, so I’m not sure if any of that will be helpful. I wish I could give you more info, but like I said, I came home and it was gone and I’m guessing the Adobe crash played a large role in that .
