Ok, here is the scenario: You are stuck in a random hypothetical country (NOT the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, or wherever you live). This once amiable, well-developed urban/suburban area has undergone what is for all intents and purposes a societal collapse. The situation is total anarchy; there is widespread rioting just about everywhere, you can't walk down a street without seeing at least one conflagration or burning building, hastily-assembled gangs of skinheads and what have you are running the streets killing and beating bystanders, 14-year-old girls are running around with AK-47s, and other unsettling sights. You are stuck here at night with no means of long-distance communication and you don't see yourself going back to your homeland for at least a few days. Before you can get the hell out of dodge and go back home, you must first locate some means of long-distance communication and be able to use it unhindered enough to contact someone back home and get help. Here are some more details: -It is night right now, and you don't see any communications you can use at the moment -The situation is EXTREMELY dangerous for you; nothing is really preventing someone from randomly killing you, and it seems there is really no human being in the area that you can trust; and it may be advisable to stay out of sight of others. -The violence and terror is most prevalent at night, and while there is still much violence things seem to tone down during daytime. -Despite the anarchy and violence, most physical structures in the community- residential houses/flats, schools, restaurants, bars, shops, etc- remain intact, but many are burned out/vandalized/looted and virtually none are still functional -Since most institutions are vandalized and there is no enforcement of anything, you realize there are few limits on what you can do to survive if the situation requires it. -You are basically a complete outsider and have no ties to this community, though the means to travel away from it are rather limited. Most people except for young children/elderly and a few bystanders are involved in the violence. -Weapons are available if you can find them//take them. -Because this is kind of like happy suburbia-turned-into-Mogadishu-on-steroids, many situations you witness will be very distressing/depressing, which may affect you emotionally/psychologically. -One last important thing: You don't know anyone here, and until you can find communication with the outside you are essentially alone in this. Imagining this realistically, how would you go about surviving this situation until you can get the fuck out of it? Try to be honest, detailed, and thoughtful is your response. This should be interesting.
