Dear Fifth Planet Games:
We have been loyal clients of your games on Kongregate for as long as they have been available on that platform. In fact, some of us have played since near the very beginning on Facebook. A few of us even participate on Armor Games and the mobile version.
However, this most recent addition to the game… feels more like a subtraction.
We were told we were being awarded some boxes yet, this is not a reward if it requires a separate purchase just for the key to open the chest. We feel this is demeaning and … speaks of little but greed on your part. Many of us are not free players and have purchased stuff during PC sprees and the buy-for-all that was referred to as the “festival of dreams”. We know it was our choice to buy things or not and continue playing the game or not but feel that without significant player input … this new direction the game is going seems somewhat downhill.
We are currently in the midst of deciding whether to quit the game altogether or not. On every platform, as a means of protest.
An acceptable alternative would be an in-game way to craft or earn said keys instead of having the keys be a direct buy and the chests being free.
We have heard some suggest that keys may be drop rewards in world and event raids. If this is true, why isn’t there a key included in this WR? In general we would like to hear what the (lack of) thinking on this new cash grab is.
Another point of contention is the promise that premiums would always be available for direct buy at some period of game play. There was a small amount of angst and nerd rage when Kez was put into the chest, before it was clarified that she would also be available for direct buy when she was actually released. … because people were worried it would be something like this most recent move.
