Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Backyard Monsters] My Final Words Here

Farewell, zys. It was a pleasure being able to debate with you, and I always had a lot of fun reading your trolling posts. I wish you the best of luck on FB BYM and whatever else you decide to move on to.

May the Powah be with you, always.

I wish you the best in whatever you move onto from here, L33t. You’ve been a great ally, neighbor, and friend. I’m not much of a “goodbye, so long, I’ll miss you” type of person. I hope we can meet again on some other game, someday, somewhere. In the meantime, keep making those failnubs on your FPS games rage ;)

Last I saw it was around 40 members, and climbing. A game is is game, people are people, and so on. I will continue to support the people.

I wish I could be as optimistic about it as you are, seven… I sincerely hope at least some of you are able to keep in touch with each other through BR. I doubt I’ll migrate over to there, though, and I definitely won’t be moving to Facebook.

Here, let me fix that for you:

Greetings Backyarders,

On Feburary 18, 2013 we will no longer be supporting BYM on Kongregate. We value all of our Backyard Monsters players’ money and would like to provide the option to get screwed by us yet again.

To do so, please contact KIXEYE Customer Support with your name, email, Facebook ID number and your Kongregate User ID number and we’ll slap you in the face and then tell you how much we care about your satisfaction. Please submit your ticket by the deadline Feburary 18, 2013.

http://support.kixeye.com/mail

You can locate your Kongregate User ID below the game canvas.

Here’s a list of some of the features exclusive to Backyard Monsters on Facebook:
- New World Map Which Players Were Migrating To Kongregate To Escape
- Inferno, Which Was Introduced To Kongregate Months Ago
- Champion Monsters, Which You Already Had Three Of Here
- Yard Planner 2, So You Can Organize Your Yard In Six Months When You Finally Have A Decent Yard Again

Thank you for your money, please come to Facebook and give us some more!

Deadline to be slapped in the face: Feburary 18, 2013

Anyone who goes to play on Facebook is a complete and utter fool. I mean no offense to anyone in particular, but that is a fact. If someone breaks into your house and robs you, and you just sit on your couch and watch them, you can bet they will come back and rob you again. Kixeye does not deserve your continued support. I would suggest you all go and find a decent game, with a decent developer and support staff, and play it instead. The only thing this game had going for it was the community, and that is going to disappear soon.

Hey chewy. It appears you are new to this forum, so I’m not gonna be hard on you. What I’m telling you is for your own good, so you don’t end up looking like a fool. Whether or not you take my advice is up to you and will decide your future on this forum.

Before making an alliance, there are a few things you need to do if you want it to succeed:
1: Get to know the other alliance leaders. Gain their respect so you can ally with them once you have created your alliance. Otherwise, they will most likely destroy your alliance.
2: Gain the respect of normal players on the forum. They are your potential alliance members. The more you know, the more you’ll be able to recruit. Also, trolls won’t bother you as much if you’re a familiar face on the forum.
3: Learn to properly format the alliance page. Look at the other main alliances for reference. If you’re sloppy with your alliance page, which you have been, you will be ridiculed and trolled.
4: Wait to start your alliance until you are at least level 45. It’s better if you’re over level 50. Nobody wants to be in an alliance with a noob leader.
5: Join an alliance. Make a name for yourself there. Rise to a high rank and win their respect. That will gain you friends and allies, as well as give you experience for running your own alliance.
6: Once you have the experience to run an alliance, give it another shot. First, though, write up your alliance page on a Word document on your computer so you can create your forum thread and have the alliance page ready to post beforehand.

You forgot something.
7: Stop double posting. It annoys the hell out of (some) people.

Ah, yes. Thanks. It really doesn’t bug me, so I don’t always remember to tell people not to do it.

No problem, I don’t do this for the respect ;) I just don’t want to see you ruin your image on the forum. If you want to close this thread before the trolls get here, go to your first post and click “Edit Post” under your name on the left side. Then, click “Delete” and it will delete your first post on the thread, closing this thread in the process.

^^ I’m sorry, yes your right. Please forgive me seven for being rude. But I do respect all of the leader’s, its just sometimes it gets out of hand. But also I didn’t really mean it that way, I was trying to say “its ok/ it doesn’t matter” but it came out wrong. Please for give me everyone.

If someone is criticizing you, simply find out what they are criticizing you about. Then, figure out if their criticism is valid or not. If what they are saying about you is a lie, then all you need to say is, “I am sorry you think that way, and I hope I can change your opinion someday and gain your respect.” If what they are saying is true, then you simply need to tell them, “I am trying to improve myself, and it may take some time and effort. However, someday I hope I can gain your respect, or at least your acceptance, through my actions.” Say it in your own words, of course. There’s a $5.00 charge for any usage of my phrases, and a $9,001 copyright infringement fee if you fail to pay the $5.00 charge.

What most people are saying about you is honest criticism. I don’t think you mean to offend anyone, but it appears to me sometimes you have trouble wording things right… From now on, try to keep your replies to criticism simple. In fact, try to keep all your posts respectful and to the point. Double- or triple-check them to make sure they would sound respectful if someone was saying it to you. Most importantly, and I tell this to everyone (some people listen, some don’t), don’t post if you have nothing important to say. If you get bored on the game, go do something else rather than come and post on the forum.

There is a Question thread and a Tech Support thread. They were specifically created so people with questions can go there and have their questions answered. I can’t say I blame you for not accepting him. Those 4 points you made make perfect sense. I wasn’t even thinking of his application in that light before. He messed up, and now he’ll have to clean up his mess on his own before applying to an alliance.

Also, thanks for saying you don’t mind my posting here ;) I know anyone can post anywhere on the forum they want to, but I prefer to treat threads like I treat other peoples’ houses. I don’t enter someone else’s house unless invited, and I don’t sit on their couch unless asked.

To his credit, I have seen effort and slight improvement on his part. However, it will take a lot of work to erase the stain of his old ways. I don’t mean to intrude, Anduin.

I would like to second that. Wave and I both tried to help killhim a while back. It became obvious to us both that we would be unable to “change” killhim. After a while, I realized that it should not be in our place to decide who needs to change. Everyone is different, so if you’re going to change someone to be like “everyone else,” you’ll have to change everyone else as well.

Considering Wave’s efforts at improving killhim, I would consider this to be the best place for him. However, that is just my outside opinion and it is obvious some members of TDK are hesitant, with good reason, to accept him here. Perhaps, if I might make a suggestion, killhim could be accepted for a probationary period… For example, for the first X number of weeks, he can only post X number of times on the forum. Of course, those posts would have to be relevant to the topic and show at least an effort at proper usage of spelling and grammar. Honestly, I think that is the only way he is going to improve his image on the forum, if you guys are willing to put your alliance’s image at stake for him.

Jorn has been taking over maxed ultras left by an inactive hacker on his map for a while now. He had told me in chat a few days ago that he was going to be making a push on the leaderboard as he took the remaining ~250 or so ultras on the field.

Breaking it down: 4,000,000,000 empire points divided by 41,526,414 = 96.32 non-maxed ultra kits. That’s pretty excessive for one day. Assuming Jorn is taking maxed ultra kits as he said, he would need less (I’m not sure how many though). I’d like to know how many points a maxed ultra gives when taken over. I’ll PM Jorn to make sure he sees this post ASAP, I’d like to hear what he has to say.

Are you sure a maxed ultra only gives 41,526,414 points? I recently took over a large number of maxed ultras, and if I remember right, they were giving me about 90 million points each. A normal ultra, not maxed out, gives me about 40 million points.

It’s probably a defective Flinger or Monster Housing. If you recycle them and rebuild them, it may fix the problem. If not, I’d suggest doing what zys said and PM the developers. Also, there is a questions thread on the forum that may help you.

Uhm, wave you said i need a bit more experience, i get that, but could you specify what should i do, so i dont spam the thread with constant questions like “can i join now?”
hope its not a problem :)

Jumps in to answer the question before Wave gets back

Here are a few things you can do to increase your chances of getting accepted-
1: I think someone already mentioned it, but your yard needs some work. I would suggest waiting until you’re almost level 40 to reapply to TDK. By level 40, most people have the experience, resources, and buildings they need to make a decent yard. Examples of good yards are easy to find online.
2: I would suggest finding out which chatroom TDK members hang out in. Try to get to know them, without pushing yourself on them. Be friendly, but not overly-talkative. (“overly-talkative” is a valid phrase, I think…)
3: Upgrade to Map Room 2 once you feel comfortable, and start building an empire. Start off taking over Wild Monster Tribes before attacking any players on there, and when you do start fighting players, always make sure they are not in an alliance.
4: When you do reapply, make sure to use correct grammar and spelling. That includes capitalizing “I” and using punctuation. It just looks better that way :) Also, find out how to post a picture of your yard next time you apply. To do so, go to your yard. Hit the “Prtsc” button above Backspace. Then, open Paint on your computer. Press Ctrl and V together, and it will paste the picture of your yard to Paint. Then save the picture. Go to imgur.com. Upload the picture there and post the link in your application. If you put exclamation marks on each side of the link, it will directly post the picture, saving the TDK leaders the time and energy needed to click the link themselves.

Hope this helps :)

Edit: hrvojerazarac seems like a good player to have. Perhaps he’d make a good addition to the “Wait List” until he’s ready to become a full member. Just my outside opinion, though.

If you put an exclamation mark on each side of that link, it will post the picture as part of your post. That way, people don’t have to go through all the trouble and hassle and backbreaking work of actually clicking on the link to see the picture.

6. I’m not sure about this part.

To post a picture of your yard, you need to:
1: Go to the store and buy one of those cheap Kodak film cameras.
2: Use the camera to take a picture of your yard.
3: Go to your nearest Wal-Mart (I don’t think it’s possible to live more than a couple miles from one) and get the film developed.
4: Take your shiny new picture home and open the DVD drive on your computer.
5: Insert the picture into the disk drive and close it, then wait.
6: Wait for your computer to start smoking a popup message on the screen that says “Would you like to save this picture?” and click “Yes.”
7: Then, go to Imgur.com and click “Upload picture” and choose “From Computer.”
8: Go to your “Pictures” folder and select the picture you saved and click “Upload.”
9: It will upload the picture and you can then post the link for it here.

Plan B for after you’ve tried Plan A and bought a new computer
1: Go to your yard.
2: Hit the Prtsc button on your keyboard (Probably located above Backspace)
3: Go to Paint and press Ctrl and V at the same time to paste the picture there.
4: Save the Paint image.
5: Go to Imgur.com and click “Computer” under “Upload.”
6: Select the image you just saved in Paint and upload it.
7: Paste the link for it here.

Remind him that a beard growing contest isn’t fair to Athena, Mary or El Three Three Tee One….

l33t could grow his peach fuzz out a bit and dye it purple. Also, I’m sure that if you were to mix Rogaine with the right chemicals and let Athena and Mary use it on their cheeks, they could participate, too.
