Lol. That sort of thing has more to do with writer’s style than anything else. I know the intention is to copy the text exactly, but it feels stupid to penalize players for some kind of thing that is entirely optional in the English language (even though it’s really recommended to avoid or to use a serial comma in the case of ambiguity, unless neither could solve the ambiguity, like in the famous quote “highlights of his global tour include encounters with Nelson Mandela, an 800-year-old demigod and a dildo collector”).

Lol. I’m sticking to my serial comma. I’ve been doing it that way since I was a little kid, and it’s just to much work to stop doing it. I just want an indicator of HEY YOUR ERROR IS HERE, because sometimes it’s REALLY hard to find the error.

Yeah, but I got to +6 or 7 on my SMG/PS3.

Also, I would not use SMG. Get a weapon with better base attack and bring it’s speed up. SMG’s are much too weak to be used when focus is on dealing damage.

Other than that I agree with Draconi, try again when you are higher level and higher rank. It’s a little too early to be trying to achieve that kind of score.

I’m pretty sure at that rank, his best bet should still be SMG/PS3, wouldn’t it be? So it should still be an SMG. (Also, note, SMG/PS3’s base attack is better than his current weapons attack. With weapon booster, his speed should be 25 anyway, so… yeah, no reason to go SMG/SMG here.)

Yeah, you can also find a link to it in this recent thread, if you don’t want to search a forum (which can be really hit or miss):

You should. It’s really kinda awesome.

“Fairly decent knowledge.”

You somehow missed that the fair use clause, which is basically copyright 101, protects works so long as it does no inhibit the sales of the work which elements were borrowed from.
Unless the people who played Hunterstory2 saw it as an acceptable substitute for Maplestory and didn’t spend money due to this, there is no infringement there.

This is like Babby’s first trademark and copyright lesson. You’d have to be completely inept to not know this.

Bullshit HS2 is non-commericial. There’s an ad, right there on the top of the page. I don’t know if Tukkun gets the revenue, or if whoever’s hosting the site does, but if he’s not getting the money, it’s certainly meaning he gets the page for free (or perhaps just cheaper) from the sites host.

(To be clear here, I’m not convinced HS2 isn’t fair use… there might well be a strong argument that it is. However, you seem to think that fair use is far more clear cut than I think it is.)

I am both laughing at how little you understand and facepalming at how little you realize you’re completely wrong.

I fail to see how my relatively decent knowledge of a topic as complicated as copyright is funny. If you’d like to enlighten me on what I’ve said that was incorrect, I’d be quite grateful, however, I am beginning to beleive that you don’t actually know anything at all about copyright. The original creator isn’t going to sue him… Even if, in fact, we assume that content creator is MapleStory (He’s not costing them any money). They also aren’t going to ask for a DMCA takedown, because, again, he’s not costing them any money. I stated this quite clearly.

I also pointed out, that, on the topic of HS1, which, in the context of the existence of Maplestory, is completely irrelevant, as the creator of MapleStory owns the copyright on all of the relevant matters, that one could argue he had a license to use. I also, mentioned that they were unlikely to sue him (correct), and, given that most people don’t even understand what the fuck a DMCA takedown is, they are unlikely to request that, either. (Technically, I think you can sue even without requesting a takedown).

All of those things are clearly correct. I fail to see how, in any way, what I said was incorrect.

You are a prime example of why 11 year olds shouldn’t pretend they understand the legality of anything regarding trademarks and copyrights.

But well… the game itself can be considered copyright infringement either way.

Tukkun actually didn’t make Hunterstory1, he took the original source code (it was open-source) and heavily modified it, and called it Hunterstory2 for lack of a better name.

I said that. The entire second paragraph of the post is me making an observation, and blowing it out of proportion in the silliest way possible.

Oh, come on. Spirit items aren’t really that OP, are they? They are certainly better for Idle play, but honestly, they kinda seem worse for anti-idling.

Weird. I thought it must be the problem (I thought it was interfering with my heal spell.)

Would bringing my heal skill up to 22 (from 20) matter? I just can’t seem to survive, and it appears my defense doesn’t matter at all, so I’m stumped as to why I can’t manage it.

Because I don’t understand how the defense works, or what other obvious things I might be missing. I keep dying whenever an attacker alien or an exploding alien shows up.

There’s… not a lot to it. From my understanding.

Is there any way I can get an 11th hitpoint? (For instance, if I decide to actually invest in HP boost, would I get an 11th hitpoint, or no?) Or is it just a case of healing faster?

Edit: Nvm, I know why I keep dying. Autofight was on.

Is there a guide for the defend mission, by any chance? Because I don’t see one, but the defend mission doesn’t make as much sense as the pyramid.

There doesn’t really need to be a guide. Don’t die for 4 minutes, kill the aliens. Once in SL, don’t idle, stay alive as long as possible.

It’s not rocket science. ™

That’s great and all, but there is a lot of missing baseline information. For instance: Your wand’s base damage (I don’t know if this is true in the defend mission, but it is in the rest of the nearby area) is your level. Your max hitpoints drop down to 10. I’m not entirely sure how your defense works, but it appears to be modified, as well.

Why are there no guides for pyramid/Defend Mission?

Ok, I’m kinda being silly, but I seriously do have a question about the pyramid: What are the potential results of:

Sacrificing 1 To-Be-Nerfed Gem
Sacrificing 10 To-Be-Nerfed Gems
and Sacrifing 100 To-Be-Nerfed Gems

?
