Alright, I thought of a few more stupid questions.
1. How do I do event quest #2? If it requires going to a particular place in the BA, how do I get there?

2. Is there ever a time when the “Activate all cards” bonus is NOT available in the special shop, or is it one of those that is available every day no matter what?

3. How do I get to/do Defend mission? What’s the level suggestion for it?

4. Sometimes when I’m in BA, I get a “censored” screen. Does anyone know what I’m talking about or what it means?

And that’s enough for now… I think I had another one, but I can’t think of it at the moment. Oh well.

My problem with Secret Beach is the Zombie Duck. I can kill him fine if I’m at my computer, but it’s about a 50/50 chance if he’ll kill me if I’m just idling. Mostly, it’s a concern if I run across 2-3 of them in a row, when my health is already lower from a previous fight. After a few hours of idling at the regular Beach, I think I can now survive at Secret Beach – I just monitored a few fights without actively interfering, and it seemed to go well enough. I’m keeping my Protection Ring equipped, just in case.

As for mining, now that I know all I have to do is have a pickaxe equipped… I started off in BTZ, just to see what I was getting myself into. After taking forever to kill one enemy, I was immediately sent back to the Pub. I tried again – same result. Definitely not a task I’ll be doing for a while, I’d say.

As for gear, I currently have the full Enchanted Leather set from the crates. I’m rank 136. What armor would you recommend, or should I take that to the BA thread?

Thanks Crazy and Majildian!

I have been making good use of my garden. I’ve unlocked about half the plots in the first garden, so far. I’ll probably focus my coins between unlocking plots and upgrading fishing skill then, instead of saving for the ant sprayer thing. I’m fine with just the manual ant sprayer.

Alas, it seems that I’m at an impasse with my BA method – I’ve gotten the 10k kills at the Beach, but I’m not strong enough to 100% idle at Secret Beach, which is the next location. :-/

Josh, have you tried checking the “Enchantments” tab on the side of your “items” screen? Not the “Inventory” from the main BA menu. I think that’s where all the stuff you’re talking about goes… But if not, I’m but a noob myself ;)

Level 1381 Noob here, Rank 132 in BA:
I have lots of stupid questions that I’ve amassed over the past few weeks.
1. Where do I use these mining tools in BA? Is there a specific part of the map?
2a. How do I get “Randomfruit” to feed my pet (whom I just acquired in the past few hours)?
2b. Anything specific I should know in advance about this pet and “caring” for it that isn’t obvious? (Don’t let health go to zero, don’t let hunger go to zero, are both obvious.)
3. LOLmarket: I’ve noticed that the level 1 gems have a set minimum and maximum price they can reach (450 and 2×50, respectively. I forget the exact maximum). Do the other gems also have these caps? Is there a link to a post where I can find a list of these caps?
4a. I seem to be permanently running short on YC. The only item I haven’t purchased from the feature shop is the ant sprayer of DOOM. What exactly does it do, other than cost 25 BC to use? Is it worth it?
4b. Is there a general consensus on the “best” way to get a bunch of YC quickly, other than the x2 card? Maxing out the printer was my first priority, and that’s finally paid itself off (I think — 284 mil and counting).
5. The way I’ve been going through BA is as follows: I track the achievement for whatever area I’m on. I stay in that area until I’ve completed the achievement, at which point the next map area is theoretically “too easy” for me. This insures that I can safely rely on autoattack while idling/not at my computer without dying. I’m almost finished with the “Beach Master” achievement. Is this a good method, or am I seriously missing something? (Yeah, I should probably go to the BA thread for this question… But they scare me with all their abbreviations o_o)
6. Fishing… I don’t fish anywhere near enough to max out my fatigue. Is it generally better to open the bronze/silver/gold boxes or sell them?

I think that pretty much covers the most important stupid questions. I’m sure they’ve all been asked 100’s of times in this thread, but I’m not dedicated enough to read through 278 pages of questions and answers, even though I’m sure I would learn a lot.

(Sidenote: I started playing AI for the badge in the Apocalypse Nao! event and got stupid-addicted. I do not “enjoy” or see the “fun” of the game. But oooh, boy, am I addicted. I keep telling myself “OK, just one more quick thing, then I can go do ___ IRL.” 2 hours later, I’m still at AI. >_< )

Stupid noob question: I just started a few days ago, courtesy of the apocalypse challenge. I think I have most of the obvious stuff figured out… I don’t know if I’ll stick with it or not. I’m currently a lowly level 233, and still trying to unlock stuff. Anyway, my question regards to triangle arcade game. In the later levels, “Watch carefully!” stays for longer and longer times, blocking the text telling me what I’m supposed to be counting, until 10+ triangles have passed. Is this intentional, or am I missing something?

For the in-game badges, could someone tell me if the Invasion badges count total damage, or if it has to all be done in one week? I always assumed it was total damage, but only the “highest in one week” is shown on my stats page.

Naturally I bank my coins when fighting bosses that can kill me, and that prevents the loss of coins there. The problem is with mobs. When you win a battle against a mob while wounded, the cost of healing is deducted from the reward coins, so banking does not help.

I realize that the amount of coins lost to healing is minor, however every little bit counts.

I’m pretty sure that when the Guardian heals you, she takes it out of the coins you have on you and not out of the reward. When I fight the MS, I fight the necessary mobs to get to it, then bank my coins… When the MS kills me, I have zero coins on me, I win coins from the battle, and the Guardian heals me for free. Granted, it would be TERRIBLY annoying to bank coins after EVERY SINGLE mob battle… And the amount it costs for her to heal you is minimal compared to the income from winning the battle (from my experience, anyway).

I also am not bashing the way you play; I just wanted to correct the false statement. Because of this, I’m also going to have to say that the only time “health pills” would be noticeably detrimental to one’s coins because of healing would be in cases where you get knocked out completely. And if there’s a chance of that happening, it’s probably against a boss when you would bank your coins anyway. But this last part is just my opinion.

EDIT: I just tested this out with a regular mob. Nevermind, you were right. Forget I said anything…

Topic: Dream World / [Guide] New Player's Guide to Starting Out Right

As a level 72 player, I just now read through this. Very good job explaining; I wish this existed when I’d started. There is one small, tiny detail that needs fixing, though. You alluded to the “Mind Training” quest in the section about the Wise Man. You said that you are required to click “Accept” to complete the quest. I would just like to point out that answering the trivia also counts as “talking” to the wise man.

Other relevant information: Talking to him successfully (based on Int stat) gives you more coin, but less experience than fighting. Fighting him gives more experience but less coin. I think that trivia gives more coin AND experience than the other two options, but it also requires the extra effort of Google. Basically, it’s technically not “a toss-up” like you said in the original post.

Again, very nice guide, and well worth the sticky!

Uhhh…. I thought it was a lot lower, like around Metreon or so. Maybe even before that… GiR was always easier than GoD. (Defining “easy” as “being able to kill with regular attacks only, no skills”)

You acquired this badge on Nov. 06, 2011.

Basically, I started when I won a Mystery Box from the featured challenge. I’ve played every day since.

Unfortunately, looking at statistics is only fun for those who like to look at statistics. To most others, it’s just a bunch of numbers. As Illustria said, that is far too much work for the few who would actually appreciate it.

Topic: Dream World / Santa and Allies

Thanks for the responses! It looks like my Santa ratio was about right then, and I wasn’t just really unlucky; I just didn’t spend enough time or energy on it (har, har). Due to block, I think I’ll go with Elf Princess.

Topic: Dream World / Santa and Allies

Ok, when you put it that way… Yeah, block does sound a lot better than simply reduced damage. So now I’ll actually have to start paying attention to what my ally is doing instead of going on autopilot, so I know when she’s used weaken 3 times? Alas. But after weaken, I can switch to Lilith and go back to autopilot, right?

Also, which bosses/battles can I NOT use weaken on? Are those listed somewhere?

Topic: Dream World / Santa and Allies

I have two relatively quick/short questions. First, about Santa. I was on for every day of this event, and not ONCE did I encounter him the full 24 times in one day. I think the most I ever saw him was about 12, maybe 14 times (in one day). Usually it was more in the 3-10 range. I obviously wasn’t n every minute possible, as I do value my sleep when I can get it, but for most of this event I had ~105 energy when full, and I would say that I went through that at least twice in a day. I don’t usually mist, since I have other things that I should be doing with my time than just playing on Kong.

Anyway, for those who did get the most out of Santa, about how much energy did you burn through per day?

Sidenote: How does one define “misting”? Is this when you spend all the coins on hand/bank on mist in order to completely refill energy, or only coins on hand (leaving a set amount in the bank)…? Sometimes if I’m really close to completing a goal, I’ll buy maybe 5 mists, but I don’t spend hundreds of thousands/millions of coins on it.

More importantly, allies. I am sword class, level 67. I currently have Demon Wings and Lilith. I know that Lilith and Valkyrie are a popular combination because of copy and weaken (respectively)… What’s the difference between Elf Princess and Val, other than 5 gems? Is it worth it to pay the extra 5 gems? What is the best strategy for my (in terms of allies) at this point?

Thanks in advance!

I have a question. Now that I have the crystal ring, is there really ANY reason to keep the demon ring around? The prospect of losing con by using has always kind of put me off…

As far as I know, the negative well and beggar outcomes were removed some time ago. At the very least, I haven’t seen one on my occasional misclicks in the past few months. Regardless, confirmation for “Explore” would still be a good thing, of course.

I joined around the beginning of November, so negative well effects were still possible at that point. I can’t say anything about the beggar, since I’ve never tried to scare her. Perhaps the negative well effects were made rarer, but still possible.

Actually, when I was new to the game and didn’t really know what I was doing, I used to dive into wells. One of two things happened; either I picked up some coins, or I dove too deep and lost some extra energy. Thus, I am mildly confused at your use of “strictly beneficial, with no potential for a negative outcome.” I can only assume that you did not know that there really was potential for a negative outcome associated with diving into the wishing well…. But otherwise, I agree with the concept of the post. A confirmation message for the Explore button could be useful.

+1.

Would leaving UD also result in resetting to lvl 95, 0%? Because otherwise, I see people leaving UD to “help out” in normal DW to take advantage of the shops. And if leaving does result in level reset, then would the game remember where the player left off overnight, or would it just assume normal DW?

You’re right, I spoke too soon! I just encountered the Phoenix, which also answered a lot of questions about storing allies. Now, the only remaining question I have is the most recent one about whether I can realistically have 2 or 3 non-premium allies, if I don’t want any to disappear if/when I get a premium one.

Ma’am, actually. But thank you for clarifying that. I’ve seen Goontra post on so many boards so nonchalantly, it seemed like he was official or something. Now I don’t feel so bad (just more confused!).

To update my most recent confusion… From reading other boards [Kitteh petition], it appears that now that I am past level 50, I will no longer randomly encounter allies other than the non-premium ones. Which means that I am stuck with my dragon, and can’t even switch to the “better” phoenix. Sad face.

But Goontra, XtC has a minimum level requirement of 63. I’m only level 58. Plus, it has 39 people, and going by the trend on the guild rankings, it appears that 40 people is the maximum number of members a guild can have. Also, I am mildly offended… Could you please explain how this in an “obvious” troll thread? I was asking (mostly) legitimate questions that I couldn’t find the answers to. I did read the stickied tutorials, and I still had questions. I am very sorry than I came across as a troll, as that certainly was not my intent. :’(

Topic: Dream World / Miscellaneous questions

Alright, so I have one more (real) question. About allies, of course, since that seems to be my muddiest point. Yes, I have joined the banker’s guild, so I have the 2 extra spaces. I currently have the dragon as my active ally. When going back to old areas, I used to encounter allies that wanted to replace my dragon, but I declined. I know I did this at least twice for the phoenix (when I went back to harvest cactus skins before I “beat the game”), and I think I might have seen the puppy or kitten while leveling up in the respective areas (post-game), but I haven’t seen any other allies since then. I know that encountering them is random and I can’t do anything to make them appear, I’m just wondering if I’m missing something. Is it possible to send my active ally to a hotel room without having a backup, or would it automatically send my active to the hotel when I encounter/accept a new ally?

Also, suppose that I somehow manage to get 3 non-premium allies before I save up enough for a premium one (or find a fire orb to get Demon Wings). I know that I can have one active ally and two in the hotel. When I (theoretically) encounter Demon Wings and she wants to join, that would mean sending the current active to the hotel, yes? But I would already have both rooms full, so it would force the active to leave — right? So really, if I want to eventually have a premium ally (or more than one, I know they’re stored separately), I should only pick up one extra non-premium ally.

Sorry for all the questions… I really do try to find information before posting!

Thanks for the responses, guys! That really did help a lot. I did find most of the answers in the wiki that cookiegod86 sent me to, but taking the time to answer them individually means a lot to me (and helped for the questions that weren’t answered in the wiki).
