Topic: Crush Crush / Balance Discussion / Suggestions - Crush Crush Game Designer

Said this elsewhere, but this seemed a better thread for it: (If anyone actually cares, I made a couple of minor edits, but if you’ve already seen it there’s nothing new.)

The big problem I see with the current structure is that if you can buy multipliers, then the game has to expand goals to challenge the people with the higher multipliers, which leaves people who can’t/won’t pay stuck wondering if it’s worth waiting a week or two or more to see if they’ve finally gotten another level of angst or whatever they need for the next step forward. I would prefer a much reduced ability to buy things that affect the core game mechanics and instead buy expanded content—like additional or expanded story lines, maybe costumes, etc. Then the main game doesn’t get as broken for the people who buy little or nothing, and the people who buy more…well, they get more. (Although yes, I do understand that it is way easier to add a multiplier than more art and story.)

The problem is, and the devs do need to realize this, is that you can’t tailor to those with high multipliers. Right now that week or two you mentioned is actually a month or two or three or more for some of those not paying. Those kind of numbers drive people away from the game. The times on hobbies right now basically make the game pay to play. The present unreasonable numbers will stop people from playing and chase off new players. Less new players means less players to become playing players.

If you want to milk players for money, make the multipliers, which seems to be the main thing people buy, temporary. This means they have to re-buy regularly. That makes more money while you can keep things like hobby times much more reasonable so you’ll have more players which means more paying players, which means more money.

Pretty sure that’s been fixed. I had the problem also.

I’m not so sure. Since the april fool’s update, my hobbies jumped from several days to 80+ for level 36 to 37 with a 9 multiplier.

I’ve noticed a couple of times lately that at least in mutation that somehow I’ve been too close to hit melee. I try to infect someone and have to back up a couple of steps to do it.

Topic: Kongregate / Kongregate: Advertising tons of pay2win MMOS on the Recommended Games

I’m finding it more annoying that this is spilling over into the hot new games. The first tab of hot new games I have right now are forge of gods (feb. 25, 2015), guns and robots (nov. 18, 2014), and kingdoms ccg (may 23, 2012). How is a game coming up on it’s 3rd anniversary on kong a hot “new” game?

Timokidguy1425, last night he tried to convince us that he had 3 million gold from 43 battles and then claimed it was a glich. He must have “gliched” again as now he has enough crystals that he has tiger god, pit lord, power goblins, fire gs, water gs, and two UGS.

The one Xcmortal is talking about is Enziro.

Clean up the hackers and cheats. Right now all the things that make this a good game cheaters and hackers are using to make this game a joke.

Topic: Kongregate / New Split Test: Activity feeds *we're back!*

So I am forced to have this ugly feed on “information” that I in no way care about and absolutely do no want. I am also forced to go to a different page to find my recently played games, something I use multiple times daily, that I do want to see.

How about doing what many sites when they introduce things: give the option to turn them off.

If I really want to know what people are up to I’ll pm them or talk to them in a chatroom.

I can’t connect to chat either and I highly doubt it’s on my end as it was working about 12 hours ago and the only thing that changed on my end is that my computer was turned off. I have cleared my cache as well trying to get it to work.

Then you put a once per day limit one against in the higher arena rank. This would give you incentive to try and raise your reputation to enter the next arena. You can only challenge someone in your own rank once unless they pass you again so why should you be able to challenge an individual in a higher rank more than once per day?

I would suggest a limit to how often you can challenge someone in the arena who is in a higher arena bracket. I’m a low level for the w. leader ranking and there are higher level e. warriors abusing this fact. One guy defeated me 5 times in two days, another 3 times in one day. This gains them honour as often as they want without advancing them to a higher position.
