Yeah. The game really needs more. I’m at level 18 now, and everything I’m doing is exactly the same as what I was doing at level 1. All there seems to be to do is spend forever unlocking new recipes that most of the time don’t feel very different. The “new” quest system isn’t really new, it’s just a refinement., and while nice…very minor. The city system is also “nice” but it’s just not much of a gameplay change. Arranging furniture is again, “nice” but it’s something I do for 20 seconds out of every hour of gameplay. There’s really nothing new to do here. it’s a complete clone of S&P 1, with very minor rule changes. This feels like a patch, not a new game.

Compare to other “daily maintenance kind of games.” For example, look at Princess Maker. Yes, your play time is spent assigning daily tasks and watching them go, but there are completely other game modes available. You can go adventuring and the game takes on a top view with you as the adventurer navigating the dungeon. There are events and unique tasks like the annual tournament/festival/competition. There are subplots and stories. Things to discover and unlock.

S&P has none of that. Once you’ve seen the first ten minutes you’ve pretty much seen the entire game. However much time and energy you invested into the city, furniture and quest systems, they just don’t change gameplay much.

There really needs to be more to it than this.

I don’t care how good the game might be, just the name…

It’s actually quite a popular game. Popular enough to have other people make games which are really just replicas with different skins. That is what this game needs to be, either something people will want to copy the base of or princess maker with a different skin.

Topic: Outernauts / Suggestions to improve Outernauts

It would be nice if the beasts you caught (but aren’t in your party) roamed around your homeworld so you can show them off and so people can heal the monsters that aren’t in your party. However I understand that this could cause even more lag then currently so some alternatives are with each expansion more creatures can roam around e.g 3 per expansion (it would also be nice to be able to select which ones can roam around if you cannot have them all), another alternative is having a building which visitors to your island can view, that way you can show off your monsters, they can heal them and lag will be minimal. It would also be nice (if it is not already being done) if monsters roamed environments that matched their type.
